Chapter 68

/Samantha/

I stifled an inward groan and thought, "What the hell is he thinking?" "What gives them cause for concern about you?" I asked him that in an effort to gain some time and to keep him talking so that he wouldn't hit me again or kiss me. We were walking down a dark alley, and it seemed like the ideal setting for him to carry out his plan to rape me; since we were alone, he would have no witnesses.

"I haven't been able to get a good night's rest in a while, and the only reason I've been drinking is to take my mind off of the fact that I can't stop thinking about you. I have never desired a girl as much as I desire you, jailbait; my thoughts keep going back to you. I can't stop thinking about you "He demonstrated this by running one of his fingers up my hip and hooking it into the belt loop of my jeans.

"Blake, perhaps you should discuss this matter with someone else." I mumbled. My voice was hardly audible above a whisper, and I fixed my eyes on the fire door the entire time; surely someone has noticed that I haven't returned by now, right? How much longer was I going to remain out here? It seemed like an incredibly long time, but had it even been a minute or two at this point?

"Regarding this matter, I am speaking with someone, and that someone is you. A short amount of time spent with you ought to do the trick." He gave me a grin before drawing his face closer to mine. I desperately tried to push him away from me by putting my hands on his chest while simultaneously turning my head away from him and closing my eyes.

As he seized both of my hands and pulled them away from his chest, he almost let out a snarl while crushing his body against mine once more. He wasn't trying to hurt me; he was just holding my hands gently. He connected his fingers through mine, but he wasn't attempting to hurt me.

Indignantly, he demanded to know, "What the heck is wrong with you jailbait?"

When I looked at him, he had a scowl on his face and was obviously upset with me. I could feel his fingers lightly touching the rings that were on my left hand. I gulped down my food very noisily "I just...Blake, we have to put an end to this. It's not true that I'm your girlfriend." I stuttered anxiously as I said.

As he brought my hand up to look at it, he frowned and appeared little bewildered. His fingers were still caressing my wedding and engagement rings. He replied, "These are nice," oblivious to the fact that I had just mentioned the fact that I was not his girlfriend. It's almost as if he has selective hearing and can only hear the things that he chooses to pay attention to.

"Yeah." I spoke in a whisper. It's a wonder he wasn't able to hear the pounding of my heart in my chest because it was so loud.

"In what store did you purchase them? Have you always put on this clothing? "He said with an inquisitive tone.

Oh my God, even if Henry gets mad at me for not lying about being married to him, I'm not going to lie about being married to him. I will never contradict the fact that getting married was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.

"Those are engagement and wedding rings." I said as I watched his face snap up to mine, the intensity in his eyes turning up.

"Wedding rings?"

"Yeah," I said with a nod, "Last weekend, I was married in Vegas."

His grip on my hand became increasingly firm, and he came dangerously close to crushing my fingers, causing me to grimace slightly "Have you tied the knot? Is someone trying to make a joke out of this? Because if it is, then it loses its comedic value." He let out a threatening growl while glaring at me.

"This is not a funny situation." I spoke through a gap in my breath as I struggled to free my hand from his grasp.

"You settled down with him? Williams. We're going to continue talking about that f***ing punk Williams, aren't we?" He yelled while pushing me against the fence harder and slammed his hand against it level with my face, narrowly avoiding hitting me. The distance between us was only a few inches. I whimpered and did my best to maintain composure in the situation.

Because Henry and I are now married, Blake, you have no right to bother me in any way. I said that while attempting to seem more confident than I actually felt. The truth was that I was feeling queasy, and my legs were shaking slightly; I wasn't sure how much longer they would be able to carry me.

He smiled and shook his head as he laughed "This must be some kind of a cruel joke. You are not old enough to get married, therefore that option is out of the question." He rolled his eyes as the muscles in his face began to relax. I couldn't believe he took me seriously; I just let out a breath I didn't even realize I was holding.

I was able to hear the door open behind him, but due to the proximity of where he was standing, I was unable to see Henry just yet. I gave an appreciative smile and waited for Blake to be removed from my body before continuing. He wasn't at all. Instead, a female voice was heard.

"What on earth are you doing, Blake, out here in the middle of nowhere? We have been waiting for you, and the supper is now ready for you."

When he turned around and glanced behind him, I noticed a lovely girl with black hair standing in the doorway and staring at him as though he was an idiot or something. This must be his sister, as they have a striking resemblance to one another.

"Hey Michelle, oh sorry I was just chatting to Samantha," he said. "Thanks for understanding." Blake remarked as he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me forward toward his sister. "Come on," he added.

"Oh my goodness! Is that you, Samantha?" She offered a courteous grin. Wow, it's evident that he hadn't shared any information with her regarding the police or the restraining order. "It's great to finally meet you after hearing so much about you from Blake. I've been looking forward to this moment. You are the very first young lady that he has ever mentioned to him "She gave her brother a warm grin and kiss on the cheek.

I forced a phony smile on my face and moved away from Blake in the direction of his sister while extending my hand to her. It's a pleasure to meet you, Michelle.

I shifted so that I could step past her inside the building, putting her in the middle of Blake and I. She grinned and shook my hand while staring at my cast in a little bewildered manner. The warmth of the restaurant enveloped me, and because Henry was so close, I felt a sense of relaxation spread throughout my body. It was only a matter of seconds before he entered this room; all I had to do was yell his name for him to appear. Just thinking about him alone brought my heart rate back to normal.

"Would you be interested in coming over to my house for supper one of these nights?" The suggestion came from Michelle.

Blake broke into a cheerful smile and asked, "She'd love to, right jailbait?"

I managed a feeble smile "I have to get back to my pals as soon as possible. They are going to think that I was in some kind of accident, like I fell into the toilet or something." I gave a nod in the direction of the eatery.

"Okay, let's set up a time to get out with Blake. I'm relieved that you've returned from your vacation. Since you've been gone, he's become a big grouch." She said this while patting Blake on the shoulder and beaming a happy smile at the same time. He informed her that I was away on vacation. In all seriousness, he is such a crazy person!

"It's a pleasure to meet you." I mumbled something as I turned around and hurried away as quickly as I could.

As I approached the table, I reached out and took Henry's hand. I then dragged him to his feet, and he gave me an embarrassed face. "I'm sorry, Samantha bear, but I got caught trying to sneak into the women's restroom and the manager guy forced me walk back to where I was sitting. What took you so long anyway?"

"We have no choice except to depart right away." I told him that as I got closer to him and pressed my face against his chest, I could feel the tears beginning to form in my eyes. I also mentioned that I was getting closer to him.

"Samantha, what the heck is going on?" He asked while he was holding me in a tight hug, and his tone of voice was slightly panicked and anxious.

"It is imperative that we go immediately, Henry; could you please get my purse? We have to get going." I said desperately. I was on the verge of having a full-blown breakdown at any moment, and I didn't want it to happen in this location. I also didn't want Henry anywhere near Blake because I knew he would definitely beat the heck out of him, and the last time he did something similar, Henry came dangerously close to getting in trouble with the law. It was impossible for me to put him in jeopardy for standing up for me.

"What's up, mom?" Henry gave a slight nod, and I noted that he tried his best to grin as his father crossed the threshold into the room.
