Chapter Deal

Deanara Louisana Samaniego’s POV

"Wait, where are we going?" I asked as he helped me walk because my eyes are blindfolded and I don't know where we are going.

Gray didn’t even bother telling me where we were going. He just appeared in our house, asking me for a date. I know it was our monthsary, but I didn’t know he had something for me. He is indeed full of surprises. I haven’t even bought him something for this day because I was really busy with school stuff, plus my mother kept on asking me for designs. She’s really dragging me back home and she knew that by giving me so many projects I would eventually go back.

Well, I am not yet ready to go back home especially since I haven’t told Gray everything about me. How should I start? Would he be okay if I left the country? Is it okay for him to settle with me there? There are a lot of things that need to be considered and I just couldn’t decide it easily.

We stopped after a few steps. He hugged as he whispered, "Happy monthsary, babe!" He removed my blindfold.

"Whoa," I said, surprised.

I sat down on the picnic mat he put. The petals were scattered around while a cake was placed in the middle. There were three candles on top of the cake. We’ve been together for three months and time flies really fast. I thought it’s only yesterday.

“Wah! It’s a strawberry cake!” I said as I took a picture of the cake. I really love strawberry cakes and I loved how Gray really took note of the things that I loved.

"How about me?” Gray playfully asked. He held my phone and took our pictures. I never posted a picture of us together because I am a really private person when it comes to my life. I usually posted photographs of sunsets, sunrises, or anything about nature.

“Can I post a picture together?” Gray asked after taking a picture of us.

“Yeah. Of course.”

He grinned. “Yeah. Let me give you the best caption ever.”

“Okay. Just tag me.”

“Hmm. You never like posting your photos?” He confirmed upon checking my instagram account.

“Uh, yeah.” I said. “I like posting about nature.”

“Can I make a request?”

“What would it be?” I curiously asked.

“All your photographs were of sunrises,” He showed them to me.

“Yeah. Right.” I agreed.

“I won’t ask you to post a picture of me. I am handsome, that’s given. But that would ruin your feed if you post a photo of me. So, how about you post a photograph of the night sky.”

“A night sky, and why?” I laughed a little. Gray does love watching the night sky with different stars above the sky, especially the moon.

“If you do that, I know I am the one you are thinking of even if we are miles apart.”

“Sounds good to me.” I nodded.

“Then, how about me? What’s the thing that you are going to post so I’ll be able to know that you are thinking of me…” I teased him. I am really having butterflies in my stomach even with just this simple conversation.

“I can instantly post a picture of you, babe!” He told me. “But…” He titled his head and winked. “I’ll post my hand.”

“Your hand?”

He chuckled. “My hand reaching for the sunrise.”

“What does it mean?”

“It means that you are my sunrise, the one who gave light after my darkest night.”

“That sounds so sweet, babe!” I hugged him. “Thank you!”

“No. Thank you.” He smiled at me.

We stared at each other for a moment until both of us looked away as we both blushed and chuckled.

The place was so peaceful and it’s my first time going to this place. I didn't even know that there was such a beautiful park here in the city, because I don’t usually spend much time wandering around.

"Hmm, I have no surprise for you. I am just going to sing?" I told him as he laid on my lap and I played with his hair.

"Sure Babe," he said as he closed his eyes.

Gray is really handsome.

"What song do you want?"

"Our theme song."

"We don't have a theme song yet." I remembered. We never really talked about it.

He smiled, then he opened his eyes and looked at me before turning up and saying, "Stars."

“Stars?”

He pointed up and there were a lot of stars shining above us. Yeah, right. One thing I’ve learned about him is that he loved the stars and he used to stay up late just to stare at the skies whenever there were a lot of stars.

I thought about the lyrics of the song first, because I know it's by Callalily. When I thought about the lyrics, I started singing while he closed his eyes and listened to me.

Gray used to stay at our house. We are not living together and Lyuna is still with us. He just spent most of his time with our house even though his unit was already renovated. He got used to it and there’s no problem between me and Lyuna since he always cooked for us.

Every night, he would ask me to sing for him and then he would easily fall asleep. Even if we are not together, he would call me just to ask me to sing for him. Well, I liked it that way because I know that it’s me he wanted to be the last person he’ll be listening to before falling asleep.

If only you could hear me

Shout your name

If only you could feel

My love again

The stars in the sky will

Never be the same

If only i had wings

So i can fly

I want to be with you

For all of time

My love for you

Will never die

My love for him will never die. This song is indeed perfect to be our love song. It sounds corny yet that’s it. When you are in love, you’ll become so attached to a person. Some say it’s corny, but I think it’s just we never want to lose the person again so we attach ourselves to them. Although, I also learned that we should give ourselves some time, too. We shouldn’t be giving everything to a person and leave something for ourselves in case things don't work the way we wanted it to work.

“You really have a good voice. Please, don’t ever sing for Ethan again.” Gray hissed while still had his eyes closed.

“I have a question and I don’t intend to ruin the mood but…”

“If it’s about Ethan, the mood is already ruined.”

I kissed him.

“Okay…” He grinned. “You can ruin my mood as long as you’ll be kissing me after.”

“Ethan is a friend of mine…” I started.

“Stop being friends with him.”

“Your grandfather requested me to sing a song for his birthday.” I told him. “What should I do?” I asked him since I was torn between going or not.

I know they are not okay, but Ethan is still my friend. Also, I want to see Gray’s expression when Ethan proposed to Vivian. Okay, this sounds silly yet I want to confirm it.

We’ve been happy for the past months. We never fought and everything was going well. Gray proved to me that he really loved me yet I still want to be sure and confirmed. I want to see his reaction if she heard Vivian say yes to Ethan’s proposal.

I am being cynical and I hate to say that I still have doubt. That is why, I want to confirm it and see for myself how he would react. What if at the moment, he realized that it’s still Vivian? Why did he start regretting it? I want to know before we move further and also for Ethan. After all, I know Ethan also wanted to confirm if Vivian is no longer in love with Gray.

We need to confirm it to have peace of mind. We deserve that.

“And, it’s not like you can miss it. He’s still your brother.”

“Not anymore.” He stood up and sighed. “We can go.” He declared. “But, don’t sing.”

I raised my brow. “What are we going to do there if I am not going to sing?”

“We are just going to eat and even though I don’t want to go. I need to go.”

“Why?”

“The party is also for our business partners since my grandfather will announce his successor to the company.”

“Will it be Ethan?” I curiously asked. “Or you?”

He shook his head.”For now, it will be my father. But, I don’t know about the Vice President. Maybe it was Ethan.”

“You don’t want it?”

“No.” He frowned. “I won’t have enough time for you if I become part of the board members of our company. Plus, I just want to be an engineer.”

“I see.” I told him. He was just like me. I also don’t want to be part of our family’s business, but it seems not to be the case because sooner or later, I need to go and join them in running our business.

I am just wasting time because I still don’t want to get the responsibility.

“How about you? Aren’t you going to pursue architecture and manage your family business? When am I going to meet your family?” He curiously said. “I want to meet them.”

“Soon…” I replied, not sure. “They’re in Spain. And, I am not sure if they’ll be coming home.”

“We can visit them. It’ll be your vacation next month. Should we go to them? You don’t usually go there during vacation?”

I immediately shook my head. “No. It’s okay.”

He raised his brow. “Why does it seem like you don’t want me to meet your family? Are you hiding something?”

I wagged my head. I am not really hiding something from him. It is just that I don’t want to go to Spain because my parents and I had a deal that if I go to Spain, it will be a one-way ticket. I will only go back there if I will stay , which means a vacation is not applicable.

And, I don’t think I am not yet ready for my family to meet Gray. They have high-standards and they really want me to find someone that would pass their standards. I know they would like Gray but they want me to choose someone that helps them run our business.

Seeing Gray, hearing his perspective about life, my mother wouldn’t like him especially since he doesn’t have any interest in business. The truth is, what my mother was looking for is something like Ethan who knows how to run a business.

Gray can. I could see that...but...okay? Why am I even thinking about it? Ugh! I need to forget about it for a while, especially because my mother kept on bugging me. She’s getting impatient as time goes by.

“No. They will come home so let’s just wait for them. The ticket is too expensive so…”

“I have a private plane.”

“What?” I raised an eyebrow. “Like you own it?”

He nodded. Okay. I shouldn’t be shocked because he had more than ten cars, so having a private plane is not a big deal. Why am I even surprised? He’s the son of a billionaire. And, yeah, I heard he owned an airline.

“Okay…” I smiled at him. “I will contact my mother and if she says yes, we can go. I need permission first.”

He widened his mouth and hugged me. “Yes! Let me know.”

“We can go after your brother’s birthday party. How is that?”

“Deal. What should I bring?”

“Just cook them Paella. They would love that.”

“Okay. I think I would just call our pilot. I want to enjoy the view instead of fly--”

“You know how to fly a plane?” I said, amused. “Woah. Wait, tell me something I still don’t know about you because you always surprised me.”

“Mine’s seven inches.”

I lifted my brow. “What?”

I was so slow to realize he was talking about his manhood so he laughed at me. I blushed. Ugh! My innocent mind.

“We don’t know that.” I said.

“Do you want to see it?” He joked.

I rolled my eyes. “C’mon. You know how to fly a plane?”

“Why, is that amazing? It’s normal.”

“Not really. But, I was amazed that you can do a lot of things.”

Gray smiled. “I am handsome and awesome.”

“Agreed.” I nodded. “How did you learn?”

“My mother is a flight attendant and also a pilot,” he sadly said. He never talked about his mother because it was too painful to him. I never asked him about his mother though he told me she died due to a plane crash when Gray was in high school.

“He was the one who taught me how to fly because I always wanted to become a pilot. It was supposed to be the path I am going to take. However, my dad told me I already know how to fly, so I should take engineering and help our company.”

“You never fly again?”

“I did.”

“With Vivian?”

Gray shook his head. “I’ve never tried that with her. We usually travel with a pilot.”

“Oh…” I smirked. “Then, I will only allow you to go to Spain with me if you fly the plane.”

“What?” Gray laughed a little. “You are making a deal now?”

I nodded. “How is that?”

“Anything for you, babe!” He kissed my forehead and I felt like the happiest girl in the world.
