“Ken, there’s a parchment here for you,” Killian noticed the document on the table as he was in the process of fixing her something to eat. Heading over to hand it to her, the words and his movement snapped her from her wild thoughts.
“Did you get one too?” She asked in puzzlement as he handed her the document. The Alpha shook his head in the negative, going back to his earlier task of getting her some food.
Kendra opened the parchment curiously.
What at all did Aiyisha want to tell her?
It was giving off some very serious vibes, she wasn’t going to lie, the seriousness of it all unnerved her a bit. Her eyes swiftly scanned the document,
Dearest Kendra,
I’m sorry for putting you in what must definitely be a very uncomfortable situation. I really had no choice. I don’t know if you remember, but you asked me to contact Morgana, which I did. She was the one who advised that I do this if we wanted to have any shot at saving your life. If you’re reading this, then I guess you have made it this far. You have just one more day, and then all of this should be over, so hold on and hold out, okay?
P.s… I know I’m the reason why things are weird between you and Killian, but please cut him some slack and give him a chance. He did nothing wrong… it was all me. Everything you can possibly need is in the room. We were told not to open the door for any reason until the three days had passed. I hope you can understand that I didn’t have any other choice.
Aiyisha.
With each word, Kendra found her heart warming a bit towards the blonde haired she wolf. She wasn’t all that bad when it got down to it. But of course, that didn’t mean that Kendra trusted her just yet.
And rightly so.
But oh, fucking Morgana!
So this had been her idea. All of it! Kendra wondered if the witch had orchestrated all of this under the command of the moon Goddess or on her own whim. She wouldn’t exactly put the second option past her, seeing as the woman, if she could even call her that, could be so unpredictable sometimes.
But why had she thought she could have helped in another way?
Like perhaps, prepare some concoction, or make some potion or something?
She should have known that this was exactly what would have happened, especially when she was contacting someone who wanted the will of the moon Goddess done in her life.
But it wasn’t so bad?
Oh, not at all.
Save for the slight, occasional cramp she was experiencing, and her never diminishing state of arousal, and his— Killian’s, I mean… she found that she was quite enjoying their own mini lockdown.
“Is everything okay?” She heard Killian ask, the words snapping her from her thoughts.
“Yeah, yeah.” She eyed the large plate of choicest meat and vegetables he brought before her, her mouth watering at how good-looking it all looked. She hadn’t eaten since yesterday afternoon after all, so could you really blame her?
“Oh, how I wish you’d stare at me like that,” Killian chuckled in amusement, handing the plate over to her.
She ignored him, her mind, her soul, her wolf, basically every fiber of her being focused on the steamy, yummy goodness. She dug in savagely, meat juice dripping down her chin which she quickly wiped with a napkin Killian handed her. Her dead mother and Rhea were going to be so disappointed should they see her eating like such an improper lady, but she really didn’t care. She was starving, and if she had her own way, she’d have wolfed down everything before her all at once, no pun intended.
Speaking of Rhea, she missed the old lady to bits. Maymunah too. She hoped to the heavens that they were thriving in Riverdale.
The Alpha, seeing how caught up she was in her meal decided to clean the broken glass from earlier instead. It seemed like a much more productive option than standing there, staring at his Beta like some love struck idiot.
Which he completely was anyway in case you were wondering.
But in all things, the Alpha was still very much confused.
Their interaction so far was in no way hostile. But what if she was just going through the motions because she had no other option? Was she going to go back to ignoring him, to avoiding him like she had been doing in the past two days when all of this was over?
He surely hoped not.
His one wish was that they’d put everything that had happened past them and just move on, and with the way things were going so far, perhaps there was still hope for that.
“How are the preparations for the upcoming war going?” He heard her ask, the question rousing him from his thoughts.
“So far so good, I guess…” He shot her a small smile, the action causing him to lose focus. A sharp piece of broken vase sliced his left palm, the suddenness causing him to hiss in pain. Kendra was by his side in a second, her food now forgotten, but thankfully, she was almost done anyway.
“Oh gods, are you okay?” She asked in concern, “Why am I even asking, of course you’re not okay.” She was surprisingly calm as she took in the nasty gash that wouldn’t stop dripping blood. “Come, we need to get it cleaned up.”
“There’s no need for that, it’s just a minor wound, I’ll be fi—”
Whatever he was going to say got caught up in his throat at the nasty glare she shot him. Without another word, he allowed her to drag him to the bath chamber.
“This is all my fault,” He heard her mutter under under her breath. He was quick to correct her. “You know it isn’t, accidents like this do happen. In any case, I’m the one who should have been careful.” He watched her pace around the seemingly large bathroom, fully stocked with water and perfumes and everything they could possibly need for today and tomorrow, looking for the emergency box of first aid. He was healing already, but he didn’t want to tell her this, quite enjoying how she was fussing over him himself, and so he sat still like she had ordered him to do, a small smirk playing on his face.
When she finally found the mint like solution and washed his bloody hand in the small basin, a small blush of embarrassment coated her cheeks, for lo and behold, there was no wound to be found. The Alpha burst into laughter at her reaction, earning himself a smack on the head.
“You should have reminded me,” Kendra chided, a small smile playing in her own lips at her folly.
“And miss all of this attention? Not a chance, sunshine.” He shot right back.
And then they were stuck in each other’s eyes, smiles still etched on their faces as they took in each other’s features. The atmosphere suddenly became tense with emotion.
“Are you still in pain?” Killian whispered, pulling her down to sit on his lap. A gasp escaped her lips at the action, but thankfully she didn’t pull away, only shaking her head in the negative at his earlier question.
To be very honest, Killian was holding on by a very thin thread. If he had his own way, she’d have been fully straddling him by now, sheathing his cock in her warm, wet heat. His cock throbbed some more at the mental image, and he shuddered at the pleasurable chill that run through him.
“Are you cold?”
“I guess you can say that,” He selectively replied, wanting to truly take this slow so he didn’t unnerve her so.
“You need to wear a shirt then,” The female beta said, trying her very best not to lean into him, lest she be poked by his hard, impossible to ignore erection. She was dripping wet herself.
“It will be a futile action, Ken… one other side effect to your heat is this unexplainable warmth even with all of this chill… trust me, the shirt will be wet in minutes.”
“Oh.” She didn’t know that, and she thought she was the only one who had it bad.
“Come, let’s get you back into bed. You know, you never got round to telling me about your adventure with the Curers.”
Kendra stood up from his laps, excitement filling her looks once more. Finally, there was something that she could talk about that could help rid her mind off all of that sexual tension. “I do have a lot to tell you, you know?” She sat at the edge of the bed when they made it to the bed chamber, praying to the heavens that he wouldn’t pull her to him like he had the first time, for she found that now that her hunger for food had been taken care of, her body seemed much keener on taking care of her hunger for the Alpha as well.
And so propping and surrounding herself with pillows to appear very comfortable, she began her story.
“Let me first of all come out and say this, you were right. I’m always rushing into things head on, not taking a moment to plan things out first,”
“You don’t say,” Killian said sarcastically, he lay on his side in foetal position, so his erection would be less obvious in that way, so that Kendra wouldn’t feel uncomfortable. “Tell me more.”
“The bald heads were an absolute shocker for one,” She said, so serious that Killian burst into laughter.
“I kid you not, Kill… here I was, mentally prepared to at least cut my hair up to my chin, but they just casually had everything off, and when I saw them, I was just like, hell no… I’m not doing this shit.”
“I’m glad you did not have to touch your hair, I love it just as it is.” His smile was so sincere that it struck her heart chords, made her warm and mushy all over. She shook her head to clear the feeling. “As for their red tunics, don’t even get me started on those. Like what in the hell was Alaric thinking?”
Alaric.
Killian took in the way his mate had just casually mentioned the General’s name.
“How was he like? Alaric?” He asked in interest.
“Just as ruthless as he has been acclaimed to be, maybe even more. But he did have his moments of tenderness for sure.” She continued her story, her eyes still lighting up in excitement, like it always did when she was talking about something she was passionate about, but the Alpha found that he rather did not like seeing that look in her eyes when she was talking about another man.
“Did you know his jihad against werewolves has to do with his mother being abused by people like us when he was younger?”
He did not know that.
“You seem to have gotten along with him very well,” Killian noticed.
“Well, I guess you could say that. I did notice that his interest in me was in no way normal, but I didn’t think much of it until—”
Kendra paused abruptly.
She had said too much.
“Until what?” The subtle clench of the Alpha’s jaw was very much obvious.
In both of their conditions, she didn’t think it was a good idea to tell him about it, but she knew Killian. He was going to press and press until he got it out of her. It was better to say it now, than let him push and make things look weird.
And so she took in a deep breath and said, “Well, he told me that Aphrodite had promised me to him as his blessing.”
“His blessing?” Already, Killian could feel his blood start to boil, but he tried to keep calm, “ What does that mean?”
“Well… basically, he meant Aphrodite had promised me to him as his mate.”
All hell broke loose after that.
