Chapter The Send-off party

Wednesday morning saw the Dnakle pack actively cleaning the aftermaths of the Red Moon… which had thankfully not been as dreadful as it should have been all thanks to Leray and his amazing gadgets.

By twelve noon, everything was done… and preparations were being put in place for Killian and Kendra’s surprise send-off party before they left for Silver Crest.

Oh yes.

It was going to be the party of the year in Dnakle.

But will all those light thoughts aside, in all truth, Aiyisha had really been worried for her two friends yesterday.

She had seen how worried they had been when dusk had set in yesterday… had seen how that worry had increased with each darkening turn of the moon… hell, sh had seen how even they had not believed that they were out of the woods yet.

And from all they had told her, with regards to how Aphrodite had killed Kendra and then restored back her life, to how they were now officially in the clear and all, Aiyisha could not help but decide that a celebration was the only perfect way to celebrate their triumph.

She could not believe that while she had been lost in the oblivion that came with the Red Moon, her two friends had been battling for their lives. Boy was she glad that they were safe.

The funny thing was that, the two lovebirds did not even have any idea that they were about to be honoured in such a grandiose way, having been cooped up Killian’s room since morning after their wolves had brought them back from the grove.

In all honesty, the few hours before morning had been nothing short of amazing for the two lovebirds.

It had started off with Killian ’s wolf being so distressed after the Moon Goddess had disappeared, apparently wanting to see for itself if its mate was truly okay.

You would not believe it if I told you… but Kendra had felt the same way too, and so she had also changed into her wolf as well.

The two beasts had licked and nipped at each other, checking for any injuries and whatnot.

Finally convinced that they were both okay, they had resorted to playing and chasing each other around the grove, Killian’s huge dark wolf overpowering her slightly smaller coffee coloured one as they ran around.

The playful moment had passed at one point, and they had been overcome with love and lust for one another, rutting in the woods like the primal beasts they were and in their animal form nonetheless.

Even now, as Kendra lay in her mate’s arms, totally oblivious to what was going on outside their chambers, she found that she did not quite want to leave the room yet. True, they missed their pack members who were now in Riverdale, and could not wait to get back to them… but they could not exactly leave the people who had been nothing but hospitable to them behind without saying proper goodbyes?

That was the reason why they had decided together to head over to Silver Crest the following day—Thursday… so they could spend today with their new family—but as it was now, it was already noon.

And they had not even stepped out for breakfast, brunch or lunch!

“Perhaps, we should head over to them now… you know, join them for lunch?” Kendra tried to reason with her mate whose head was currently nestled between her breasts, but he only groaned and nuzzled up to her some more.

“Noooooo,” He dragged out like a spoilt child being denied his favourite toy, “Let’s wait for just an hour more,” He finished, slipping a pebbled nipple into his mouth.

That was apparently all that was needed to get her to shut up.

What were we even talking about anyway? She tried to recall in her subconscious… a loud, dreamy sigh escaping her lips. She could not for the love of her remember, but she was pretty sure that whatever it was, it was not nearly as important—nor nearly as satisfying as the pleasure that was currently coursing through her veins at her mate’s ministrations.

And so their never seeming to end lust continued.

Killian would try to snap out of it, Kendra would work him back into it with her wicked tongue… she would try to shake it off… he would silence her with his creative hands,

On, and on and on it went,

Until before they knew it, it was already six p.m.

“Killian, we really need to head out now,”

This time Kendra meant it, and to further get her point across to her stubborn mate, she stood up and headed over to the bathing chamber.

She was out in about two minutes, her body cool and fresh from a very cold bath.

“Come back to bed, Ken…” Killian started again, his arms outstretched as he smiled that adorable smile that would have under normal circumstances tugged at her heartstrings, getting her to do his bidding.

This time though, it did not work.

“Kill, we really should be out there with them,” She insisted as she dressed up. “We have been cooped up in here all day, the least thing we can do now is join them for dinner at least. Unless you want to leave for Silver Crest on Friday?”

“No.”

That seemed to have done the trick.

For the Alpha shot out of bed so fast that Kendra’s mouth dropped open in shock at his speed.

“W—What was that?”

Even Killian was surprised himself. “I—I have no idea.”

“Try and do it again,” She coaxed, her mind suddenly flitting back to when they had first discovered that they could read each others’ thoughts if mind blocks were not put in place and also sense each others’ emotions.

What else could this be again?

She thought they were done with all the surprises.

Killian did as she had asked, trying to head to the bathroom.

A look of disbelief and awe made its way onto his face when he realised just how fast he had made it over to the smaller chamber. “Did you see that? Speed like that is not humanly or wolfly possible, Ken.”

“This—this is crazy,” She agreed.

Kendra did not even know whether to be happy or concerned at the nouvelle observation. “What else can you do?” She asked, forgetting that a while ago, she had been hurrying the Alpha wolf so they’d go and have dinner with the rest of their friends.

“I—I’m not so sure, Ken, maybe that’s all…” Killian turned to enter the bath room, but then he stopped suddenly, “The red moon’s blessings!” He exclaimed in excitement.

“What are you talking about?” Kendra blinked in confusion, but the tall bronze skinned Alpha was quick to explain it to her, “Aphrodite mentioned something about the Red Moon bestowing some blessings upon me, I am guessing that this was what she was talking about?”

Why he phrased it like a question, he had no idea, or maybe he did after all…

It was because he was still not sure if his words were the actual truth.

But then he remembered something else, “Infact…” He dragged out,

“Infact what?” Kendra felt some trepidation in her chest at his hesitation.

“Infact, she mentioned gifting you with the same blessings, and so if this,” He gestured towards himself, but Kendra knew that he was referring to his earlier display, “If this is the blessing she was referring to, then you should be exhibiting them too.” He finished.

Kendra was pensive, not knowing what to say. “Do you want me to try it too? To do whatever it is that you did?”

“I do… but we do not exactly have time so when we get back,” He suggested.

Kendra nodded in understanding, heading over to his armoire to pick some clothes. If this was to be their last dinner in the small town of Dnakle, then she really needed to look her complete best. Thankfully, Adua (bless her soul) had moved some of her outfits in here, and so she did not have to return to her room.

The female beta found a lovely sapphire blue elegant gown with matching gloves and decided that that would do.

But what was she going to do with her hair?

She sucked when it came to styling what was beginning to be the bane of her existence.

Killian returned not a minute later claiming he was done bathing. As unbelievable as it seemed, Kendra knew he was telling the truth.

Perhaps these blessings were not completely bad after all.

Who knew all the wickedly erotic things they could do with it? A small smile made its way onto her face, a slight blush coating her cheeks at her wild thoughts.

The Alpha quickly got dressed and then helped fix his mate’s gown in record speed, his blue eyes admiring the way the cerulean colour of the gown contrasted so sharply with her strikingly magnificent brown eyes. “You are so beautiful, Ken…” He murmured huskily, his voice thick with emotion.

“Thank you,” The female-Beta responded shyly at his words, smiling wryly, “though I do not know what to do with my hair,”

“Leave it as it is then.” He suggested with a shrug, “It will make my job easier anyway when I’m taking you at night.”

The glint in the Alpha’s eyes was wicked, even as he laughed at the mortified look on her face. “Come on… we should get going.” He steered her along with him, his hand on her waist offering support to her still dumbstruck body.

****

“Surprise!”

To say the Alpha and his mate were surprised would be an understatement as they stared at the amused faces looking back at them as the looked down from the grand staircase at the large Hall.

They were overwhelmed with love and appreciation, still  not quite having come to terms with the fact that these were total strangers who had just accepted them into their midst.

“This—this is too much guys,” Kendra spoke on their behalf, her eyes shining with unshed tears.

“You two deserve even more than this.” Aiyisha smiled, looking regal as she stood in front of her father’s throne… the same one which was now hers.

Being Alpha really suited her.

“You two have honestly done so much for us.” She boomed across the quiet room. “You had your own problems, problems that were very serious, and yet, you cast them aside and helped us with ours. Because of that, you have earned a very special place in our hearts.” She took a deep breath, “Kendra, Killian… we celebrate this last day you are spending with us. I know that you two will restore the Silver Crest Pack to its former glory and do even greater things, but I want you two to know that you will always have a home in the Dnakle Pack.”

Everyone broke out in a loud applause as the two made their way down the final flight of stairs. Kendra literally flew into her friend’s arms and hugged her tight. “Thank you, Aiyisha…” She shot the others an appreciative glance as well, “Thank you all.”

Aiyisha cleared her throat loudly, a finger lightly wiping moisture under her right eye. She took a deep breath, “Alright,” She boomed loudly, “Now that we have gotten the sad moments out of the way… let us get this party started!”
