Chapter Getting ready

“What do you mean by we are having it tonight?” Killian voiced out his confusion.

“Tonight will definitely not be possible, Morgana,” Kendra joined in. “How are we going to get ready in just six hours? There’s a whole lot to do… invites have not even been sent out—”

“Woah, woah, woah guys… don’t shoot the messenger?” The Silver Witch tried to calm them down, “Listen to everything I have to say first at least before freaking out.”

When she was sure that her words had gotten to them and they had calmed down, she continued, “The ceremony is going to be in two parts, the secret session which will be held only in front of your entire pack, and the grand session which would take place on any day of your choosing. You can invite anyone you would like for that one.”

“I see. It’s not so bad then,” Kendra agreed, adjusting her share of the covers as she sat up in the huge bed.

“See? I told you it is not.” Morgana replied, “However… there’s one little part that perhaps, you two might find uncomfortable…” Morgana dragged out as she bit her lip in thought.

“What is it?” Killian asked, his eyes had managed to find their way back to being blue, a tell-tale sign that he had his emotions quite under control now, but it did not mean that his voice and his tone had become warmer in anyway, for nothing was going to change the fact that the damned Witch had interrupted them before he could find his own sweet relief, and so could you exactly fault him for being so wound up?

“You two are going to have to mate again.” Came her answer.

“But we already did that,” Killian confirmed.

“Not in front of your pack, you did not.” The gleam in her eyes was wicked, like she was enjoying their surprise and incredulity.

Kilian and Kendra shared a horrified look and turned to her in confusion.

“So he is just going to mark me and I him?” Kendra asked, hoping that that was all she meant.

“Unfortunately, it is the whole show, love. You two will couple first as humans, and then as wolves before any remarking can take place. It is just a formality Selene wants you two to go through.”

“And we will have to do all this in front of the pack?”

The Silver Witch gave them an exasperated look, “I thought we had pretty much established that fact, guys. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and find D— is he called Dante?” She looked to them for confirmation. Kendra gave it. “Yes. He will help me plan for the ceremony… you two need not do anything, you will be doing quite a lot this night after all,” She said with a wink as she glided towards the huge door, an action that Killian found moot now as she could have just disappeared like she had come in.

“Save all your lovemaking for tonight, young Alpha… because I’ll be watching to make sure you do not slide a quick one past me.”

And then she was gone.

“Think she is telling the truth?” The Alpha asked his mate, still quite skeptical about all that had happened.

But Kendra only chuckled, “Are you talking about the ceremony or the spying on us?”

“Everything.” He stood up to dress up, finding that the sudden appearance of the Silver Witch had killed all of his horniness.

“Well, Morgana may be mischievous, but even I do not think she would involve a deity like that if she was not telling the truth.” She stood up to wrap her arms around her tensed mate, quite understanding his foul mood. She patted him on the back one last time and then grabbed a new set of clothes from the armoire. “Where are you going from here?” She asked.

“To see Maymunah.” He replied. “We really need to do something to secure the territory against magic.”

“Wait, I do not understand, Maymunah is just a seer, we have Morgana,”

“And Morgana is unpredictable.” He quipped back. “Look, Ken… I get that she is our safest bet,” He sighed, “And for now she is, but do you not think we ought to have a backup plan of sorts? For emergencies?”

He was right.

“Alright.” She finally conceded. “You do what you have to… I will go find her and make sure she does not go overboard with the preparations.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

The duo headed towards the door only to find that to their dismay, it was locked—or jammed. (they didn’t exactly know which.)

“That drasted witch,” Killian cursed bitterly. Kendra could only laugh in disbelief, “So what now?” She asked.

“I guess we wait.”

A knock on the door woke the Alpha and his mate up with a start.

They had not even realised they had passed out in each other’s arms after having decided that being locked in was probably a better option than being kept apart from each other by more duties and responsibilities. And so, they had taken advantage of the opportunity alright, (not doing anything freaky, you silly goose) just talking and cozying up together despite Killian’s much evident hard-on.

Killian stood up to open the door, still drowsy to have remembered that it had been jammed earlier--and in waltzed Morgana. “See? I can knock—sometimes.”

“You never told us you were locking us in, Morgana.” He could have strangled her in his irritation.

“You would not have allowed me to, young Alpha… and I get it… believe me, I do. Having me here in your territory, challenging your decisions and controlling you… it can be quite stiffling, but it is in no way my intention— I am just working on instructions, you know?” She shot him a tired smile, “Ultimate power apparently does not make one as powerful as they would like after all.” Her gloomy countenance quickly disappeared only to be replaced with a brilliant smile, “Where was I? Yes! Everything is all set… I am to debrief you on how everything is going to go down before you head out with me… but I will say this. Your Gamma and Delta have been a tremendous help.”

“You are sidetracking again, Morgana,” Kendra interrupted with a fond smile. Despite Killian’s warning, she found that she was quickly becoming fond of the Silver Witch as the days went by, and she could feel that it was not one sided.

“Thank you child, I tend to do that a lot now, do I not?” She chuckled in amusement, “Right, so the intimate ceremony will start at ten, you both are to come clad in sheer, white silk which I will have delivered shortly. I will officiate the ceremony with the help of Maymunah (such a dear soul) and we will both take you through your vows. That is basically it.”

“Wait, what about the mating part?” The female Beta asked in confusion.

“Oh, that,” The Silver Witch said with a flip of a hand, “I do not know… all I do know is that it will happen, but as to exactly when it will happen during the ceremony, I have no idea. My guess is that it will come to you naturally.” She concluded. “Everything is set. You can come out— after dressing of course. The ceremony is but an hour away after all.” She had barely finished talking when there was a knock at the door. “Ah, Jisella… come in,”

Killian was a stone of annoyance… and Kendra was enjoying every bit of it, especially with the way her mate’s emotions were all over the place. That seldom happened.

Jisella came in as commanded, bowing slightly, her short dark hair becoming messy at the action. “Here are the clothes you asked me to bring, my lady.”

“Thank you, child,” Morgana took special outfits from her, “You may go now.”

The young maid curtsied once more and left.

“Here, you go Alpha,” Morgana handed his clothes to him, and then turned to Kendra with a smirk, “You are coming with me, child… we will leave the young Alpha to dress up.”

Squeezing Killian’s arm slightly, Kendra shot him a asmile and said, “See you soon.” Then she trailed after the Silver Witch without another word.

“Why do you rile my mate up so, Morgana?” Kendra asked as they made the long trek back to the room that was formerly her sleeping chamber.

It felt like eons ago.

“I assure you that I most certainly do not.” The Silver Witch was indignant with her reply, but Kendra only shot her a pointed look.

“Blast it. Alright fine… I do rile him up sometimes.” She admitted petulantly. “But can you really blame me though, child? The young Alpha is such a spoilsport when he is not sparring or with you,” Morgana said, shooting her a sheepish smile, “And I just cannot help wanting to get a bit of a rise out of him every now and then since he is usually so stoic.”

“I know,” Kendra grinned conspiratorially, “I enjoy it too, though I will deny it vehemently if this ever gets to him.” She confided.

“Atta girl,” Morgana beamed with pride, “I knew I saw something in you when I chose you,”

“You chose me? For what?”

“Nevermind… just an old lady musing out loud, “The Silver Witch evaded the question, her usual, bubbly persona making its way back onto her face.

Kendra just decided not to pursue it, choosing instead to change the topic, “You know,” She started, “Hearing you call me child or yourself an old lady seems so off, especially when you do not look a day over five and twenty.”

Morgana’s laugh echoed through the hallway, “Kendra!" She exclaimed, "Well believe me, my real form would put Maymunnah’s frail body to shame. I truly am hideous, child… but you will not know until you see for yourself. Perhaps one day, I will show you.”
