The Dao of Magic

The protagonist, a rogue unaffiliated with any sect, is on the verge of ascension from a planet he considers a "godforsaken" place. His actions, specifically stealing valuable loot before the eyes of powerful beings and their descendants, have angered the ruling powers in higher realms, who view him as too great a risk. Their initial attempt to eliminate him by sending sect masters and hidden dao protectors failed. Consequently, they forcibly removed him from his universe. He awakens in a strange valley, disoriented by the environment and the unfamiliar sights of creatures fighting. Now, he finds himself teaching a baby rabbit, rescued from its mother, to fight using qi. The story features magic, reincarnation, an overpowered male protagonist, fantasy creatures, and a weak-to-strong progression. One review suggests the novel attempts humor and cliché subversion but falls flat, making it a chore to read. Explanations of cultivation systems are also described as a slog, and the protagonist's personality doesn't align with his supposed past lives, making the serious tone ineffective for the desired comedy and slice-of-life elements.
