Chapter DNA test

Next morning, I woke up very early to attend my personal business, and helped Olivia do her morning chores before she week up. I was preparing morning breakfast when I heard her coming to the kitchen. I glanced at her briefly as she entered the room and then dropped with a sigh into the closest chair. I poured a mug of coffee and set it down in front of her

"Cream and sugar?" I asked politely.

"Just black is fine,"  she replied, taking a testing sip

"Hope you like strong coffe," I said, turning back to my cooking.

"Just the way I like it," she said

"So far, so good, then." The toast popped browned to perfection. I placed it on a dish, then slathered on some butter

"Looks as if you got up early." She asked me

"With the birds. Saw a beautilul sunrise walking out to my car to pick up a few thing"

"How about Noah, does he get a ride to school or take a bus?" I asked.

"A bus stops at the end of the drive at about half past seven." She replied.

Noah soon appeared in the doorway, rubbing his sleepy eyes behind his glasses. I greeted him cheerfully as he dished out the eggs, then set the toast, jelly and juice on the table.

"This looks good." Noah took his seat and began to eat his breakfast.

"I was thinking, Mom," he said thoughtfully as he chewed, "maybe I ought to stay home today from school to help you." A way to skip school today, I smiled. What a smart boy.

"That's okay, Noah. Brian will be here. You'll have plenty to do l'm sure when he's gone." Olivia said

"How long are you going to stay?" Noah asked as I took a seat next to him

"Oh..that depends on what the doctor tells your mom." I answered, glancing at her.  "A few days, I guess."

"Cool,"  Noah jammed his mouth with a slice of toast

I smiled at him, clearly pleased by the boy's response as I began to eat my food, am going to miss him a lot when am gone, though we'll be talking on phone, but I would like to have him with me. He may be  Adams, I thought. No he can't be.  But he resemble Will. Why can't you run a DNA test. My inner man said. Olivia will never allowed that. I replied.  Maybe I'll do secretly, it would enable me to claim he as Adams, he wil live a good life and have his own inheritance. Wild thought Brian, it can't never be ! Stop This. I conceded myself. I looked at Olivia she barely touched her food, she was also lost in her own thought

"Can I get you anything else, Olivia ?  "More toast maybe? You barely touched your eggs. Would you like me to tost  them differently." I asked

"Uh, no, thanks," she said politely. I'm just not very hungry this morning."

"How's your ankle? Does It hurt much this morning? " he asked solicitously"

"I feels a lot better. And the swelling is down, " she answered, holding out her leg for me to see. "But I guess I should still see a doctor."

"I insist,"  I  replied. He stood up and began clearing off the table. "I'll talke you over as soon as you get dressed."

With Noah's help. She climbed upstairs again and went into my room to dress. when she appeared a few minutes later in the living room. I was seated On the rocking chair, reading a copy of the local newspaper that was a few days old. I was amazed by her beautiful, her dress fitted  her perfectly, as it brings out her curves and shape, her full chest and  her straight smooth legs.  I suddenly sat up, staring at her, my eyebrows rose, my mouth hung open.

"Wow, you look great," I complimented.

"I clean up as well. "Ready to go?" She asked as she took her purse.

"If you are," I replied. I stepped toward her and gallantly opened the door. "Shall I help you down the steps?" I offered.

"I think I can make it,'" she said, holding on to the porch rail. I quickly went to the bottom of the steps and waited for her. I was looking her over again, found myself feeling jerous of other men seeing her like this.

"You do look very nice,"  I said again as we sat side by side in my truck. The truck started up without a problem, and they headed for the main road.

"Thank you." She laughed. "But I'm afraid you' ve so far only seen me at my worst, Brian Mostly, covered in mud."

"WelI....I wouldn't say that entirely,"  replied in a thoughtful tone. I was thinking of the bathroom the slipping towel. She blush  and looked out the window. Well, I'd seen enough to have an informed opinion, she had to grant me that much.

I leaned over and switched on the radio. The only stations that Came in clearly played.country-western , not my taste. But I listened without commenting one way or the other

We were soon at the edge of town and arrived at the doctor's office. I lifted her from the cab of the truck, with my hand around her waist and her hands firmly planted on my shoulders. It seemed an eternity before her feet touched the ground as her body slowly slid down against mine, the trip leaving little to anyone's imagination. When it was finally over, she glanced away, gaining her balance and smoothing out her clothing. I took in a sharp breath, then swallow hard as I fumbled to put on my sunglasses.

With a firm but impersonal grip on her elbow, I helped her into the doctor's office. The receptionist, Flora Potts, greeted Olivia warmly and inquired with concern about her injury, how she' d fared during the storm and about Noah's progress in school. I told her I would wait out for her while I make some important call. She nods as I left her with the receptionist eyeing me up with curiosity.
