Rupert's POV
My eyes bulged when she said that, she closed her lips, but then my face had gone back to expressionless, and she shook her head fast.
'I didn't mean to..."
"Fine, I will just go ahead.'
"Aren't you going to eat?'
"I am a vampire and a wolf, I don't eat that much, I need blood more than food." She didn't reply to me, she run into the gate, I smiled, knowing that I had scared her away with that. She is becoming a hell of trouble for me, I need to train her fast so she gets off my castle.
"Is that what you want?" Vernon asked, I ran my hand throw my hair, I didn't even know what I wanted but I would never fall for a woman that is one of my decisions and I am not going back to it.
Mason is waiting for me at the Alpha training ground, I just got the information that I will be going for the alpha training along with my brother and whoever I wish to have as my beta, and of course, I will pick Mason, that is if I ever become one, I am sure, Russel will never let that happen and I know he too will be at the training ground, I should be very careful, that if I want to become the alpha of this pack. And with the tournament coming up, everything will be messed up for me.
"Are you ready man?" Mason sweetly smiled visit me, I was still on my hood, and he threw the hood off my face immediately after he got into the car.
"What are you doing?"
"I don't think you need the hood."
"What do you mean by that?" I questioned with my eyebrows furrowed.
"Relax, you are not that scary today..."
"What do you mean by that?" I turned to the rearview mirror, my face wasn't scary nor was I fine, it was in-between, I wondered what happened.
"Did you do something behind my back?" Mason questions move my gaze back to him.
"What do you think I must have done to make my face not as scary as it was before?"
"I don't know, maybe, because you started having a heart and you were worried that you killed her, remember you weren't that scared when you killed other she-wolves but she, you were worried and you didn't even kill her."
"Do you think so?" my voice came out more like a whisper I don't want to keep my hopes high and the moon goddess didn't at any time tell me what I should do to break the curse. "Do you think it's the change in my face that made Father nominate me among the ones he could Choose to be the next Alpha?"
"Rupert stop asking me questions I have no idea of, I just want my Rupert to be back, I missed your handsome face."
"Are you going crazy?"
"I know, back then when I stared at you, I see nothing but the sun, just as I see the sun in Ariana's face, I am happy that the moon goddess fated me to be the mate to your cousin the most beautiful woman in the pack.
"Really?"
"Of course, she is beautiful and hot like Iris."
"Is she hot?"
"Of course, you are the only one that doesn't think she is hot, even Campbell heard Russel telling Luna that your girlfriend is hot."
"Girlfriend? Iris is not my girlfriend, she is just some Mulish fellow that wants to get whatever she wants."
"Hm!"
"What's that?'
"How does her lips taste?" I didn't give any response to him, my eyes were focused on the road. "Come on tell me, don't you like it, I saw her kissing..."
"Mason, she wasn't kissing me? So stop it."
"Hm!'
"Shut up, no one will mistake you for a mute, if you don't talk." I could feel Mason giggling inwardly, I glared at him, and then my thoughts wandered to Iris, I hope she will be able to cope, and those monsters, I pray they don't come now that I will be out of town.
Suddenly the scent hit me, that peppermint scent, I wondered where they were coming from, and my stubborn wolf became restless all of a sudden.
"Rupert, what Is it?"
"Uh!'
"Come on, you were smelling something."
"Yes...no... It..."
"This!" Mason picked up the water container, I wanted to deny it but the scent hit me again, I grabbed it in a hurry, pulled it close to my nose, and I found my restless wolf becoming peaceful.
"Is it for..."
"No, it's mine, I want to drink water."
"You want to drink water right?" Mason's soothing voice is full of humor, and I know he is teasing me, and I am feeling it, but I am not going to give him the satisfaction.
"Yes, water!'
The drive to the alpha training ground was more than ten hours, it was tiring but I did not want to fly the same jet with Russel that annoying jerk.
The training started the next day, so we didn't have the time to chitchat with our friends from the other pack, I had friends from the other pack before the moon goddess cursed me and just one is still my friend, his name is Max.
During the noon break, we all sat on the field, those who wanted to sleep were sleeping and those who wanted to chitchat with their friends did that, I and Mason was lying on the grass when Russel's voice called out to me.
"Rupert!!!" I glared at myself.
"Stop doing that, we are not going to wash our dirty linens here, are we?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"Come on kid brother tell us more about the girl in your house." The mere fact that he had mentioned Iris made me rile and my wolf becomes restless.
"Brother said that she is your guest from another pack."
"Rupert had a female guest?" His annoying best friend Fred, whom he picked to be his beta if he was to become the alpha.
"Yes, Campbell could stop talking about her at the dining during dinner.'
"Hm!" I bet she must be a rogue. Fred couldn't keep his mouth shut.
"I don't care what she is, rogue, omega, or something else, she is super cute." I still didn't make an effort to correct their opinion about her, they don't expect me to talk about my guests, that is if she is really my guess.
"Come on kid brother, you should tell me, about her, so I can make my move before, other guys in the pack notice her sheen and start flirting with her. I am sure, she is not more than seventeen, and she is that hot, I am sure the older she gets, the more sexy and appealing she will be."
This ignorant fool, is not paying attention to the way I am glaring at him and is opening telling me that he is interested in Iris as well, I try to control myself but this fool is not shutting his loud mouth, in a blink, I didn't know what pulled me from the ground, but right now, my grip is firm on Russel's neck, I pulled him from the floor, his face turned pale as a result of my strong grip on him. "Never go near Iris." My eyes turned red. "Don't talk to her, don't smile at her, and don't use the same road with her, you are not in the place of conquering her, if I did see you talking to her or inhaling her, you would regret ever doing that and you will wish for death, do I made myself clear." My aura is sinful and bloody.
"Rupert, you should stop." Mason tries to pull my hand from him. "Do you understand?" I yelled I could see Russel nod slightly to indicate yes and I let him fall from my grip, I turned my gaze to his annoying friend, Fred nodded slightly, and I darted out of the field while Mason went behind me. "Imagine the bullshit." I hit the wall immediately I pushed the door of my room.
"Can you calm down?"
"Did you just say calm down? That stupid brother of mine will get it from me if he makes the mistake of coming close to her.'
"Are you in love with her?" Mason asked, I stared at him. "Go on and answer, do you love her?"
