Iris's POV
"I want to stay." He looked at me, and I held his hand stopping him from leading me out.
"Uh!"
"Yes, I want to, I want to watch him." Although I am not sure of what I just said I guess that, I will be safer here than be alone with this man out there, or even from whoever is watching me. My gaze moved back to the Field, this time, I could feel that anytime the man launched an attack on Rupert, he seemed to calculate his movement so that he just dodged and ended up unharmed, apart from the first injury on his hand, I notice that he could handle himself well, I try to relax, instead of flinching and closing my eyes in fear, seeing that Rupert is handling the situation well.
The huge man seemed to have more fans, even some of the pack members were cheering him, but every attack he launched at Rupert that didn't inflict pain on him, Left them disappointed, they felt he was just playing with the sword in his hand as he swung without achieving anything. Now the sound I could hear was that of frustration. They aren't happy with the turn of events
Rupert, who had been calculating every move of the huge man, didn't raise his sword, he kept dodging it, then I remembered one of his words while training, exhaust them and strike at their weakness if you know you can't beat them with the same energy of them. I smiled, Alpha Oscar, was cheering for his son to attack, I turned and looked at him, is this how my father would have been cheering for me if I were a male wolf? Will he have kept blind to the fact that I might get hurt just to show that his son is strong and fit to protect the pack members and Russel, why is he not fighting
In a flash, Rupert is now listening to his father and the crowd cheering for him, he attacks the man, I could see the excitement on his father's face and his fans, with each attack, he left a cut on his body, instead of Rupert to just end his life, he didn't do that, he just inflict bruises on him.
For some second, I found it inhumane, and I wanted it to stop, I don't want him to kill the man, and although these people were cheering him for his actions, I still wasn't comfortable with it, enjoying the sight of a dying helpless man, although he wasn't a helpless man a while ago, at this point, he is at the mercy of Rupert and he had given his point, the man is no march for him. He should stop now.
When the man was badly injured and he was now on the floor, Rupert raised his sword to finish him up, I didn't know what came over me, I connected to his mind link, what I had blocked for over a week.
"Let him go." He raised his eyes and suddenly our eyes meet, what? How could he zero me out of the crowd, even though I wasn't sitting in that place of the peasant, I still think that it's weird.
"I can't!!!" He said, raising the sword more.
"Fine, do what you like and let them call you a beast after this." I disconnected the mind link and grabbed Russel's hand, leading him out of the field, he didn't object, he just followed me, and the next thing, I heard the onlookers screaming, he must have finished him. I rolled my eyes at his actions, so this is what he prefers, a beast, a heartless beast.
"Are you alright?" Russell takes my hand stopping me from taking more steps. Suddenly, I felt someone running towards me, with a dagger. "Get down!" Russell yelled, his voice is full of fear, I fell flat to the ground, Russel was fast to kick the dagger off the man's hand, I didn't see the man's face, Russell got into a fistfight with him, and he kicked Russell and start running away, Russell tries to run after him.
"No Russell, don't go after him." I called stopping him, the very minute I was able to stand on my feet, I held my chest, it was pounding badly, and he ran back to me, I was still in shock that I was passing out, I didn't want to pass out, I want to stand my ground but fear didn't give me the luxury to act brave, I fall on his strong arm, he carries me to his cars while his guards run after the man that tries to kill me.
"Are you okay?" My gaze moved to him, I wanted to nod but at that moment, I could feel Rupert trying to mind-link me.
"Where are you?"
"At the parking spot?"
"Good, you should..." I didn't get the rest word before the line disconnected, it was I who disconnected, Maybe he did or because I was distracted, my heart was still giving me a hard time. Thanks, I got to go. I push the door of Russel's car, he looks at me.
"Are you leaving because of Rupert?"
"Uh!"
"Is he bullying you and asking you to stay away from other guys in the pack?"
"He is..."
Russell, grabbed my wrist, ready to persuade me to either stay or answer his questions but I wasn't ready to answer it, I didn't want to.
"Princess, you should be scared of Rupert, living under the same roof with him is dangerous, he could kill you, he is not just a wolf, he is a vampire, the one having a war against she-wolves, he killed them, he had no mercy for them and he already has a mate but his mate left him because of his curse, when he goes on a rampage, he knows no one and his mate...'
"Did his mate reject him?" I asked, he lowered his gaze and looked at me, I wanted to urge him to go on.
"No, they didn't reject each other, they just wanted their separate ways because his mate couldn't live with a beast."
"Did she ever..."
"Rupert!!!" The mention of Rupert's name made me and Russel turn to look behind, only for me to see him with a girl.
"What now?" Rupert's coarse voice came out.
"Come on, stop acting too important, I only want to congratulate you for not putting the pack to Shame."
"Can I go now?"
"Why are you in a hurry to leave? You should be happy that for the first time, the pack could see beautiful she-wolves standing close to a beast like you."
"Celina, are you here to mock me?"
"Of course not, I only came to tell you that from tomorrow, I am joining the training and the alpha had given me approval that I could join the others to train and that you can't throw me out of the training ground like you did the last time.'
Rupert grabbed the note from her hand, I don't know what they were talking about but I bet it wasn't good, his face darkened, and Russel turned and looked at me. "Maybe, she finally got the courage to reject him as a mate."
"Uh!"
"Of course, all beasts, do not deserve a beautiful mate, they are to die as a..."
I didn't allow him to finish his words, I made my way to Rupert, increasing my step.
"Love!!!" I called as soon as I got close to him, I pulled his hand, circled my hand around his neck, and smashed my lips on him.
