Chapter 10 : Acting Young

10: Acting Young

"Sister Qianqian, you're dressed so simply. You're clearly so pretty but don't dress yourself up—what a waste." Standing at the bus stop outside the residential complex waiting for the bus to arrive, Bai Ya said disappointedly to Leticia.

She had thought she could see another side of Sister Qianqian today, but Sister Qianqian was still like this—anyone could tell at a glance that she was essentially a shut-in.

A white T-shirt with a large "Demon King" printed on the back, paired with slightly loose long pants—this was Leticia's outfit today.

"Nothing to be sorry about. But Bai Ling, since when do you have a hobby of acting young?" Leticia rolled her eyes. At this moment, Bai Ling standing beside her seemed to be wearing a high school girl's uniform.

If Leticia remembered correctly, Bai Ling was at least twenty-five years old. At this age, still wearing such clothes was truly shameless.

"You have a problem with it?" Bai Ling's hands were inserted in her waist pockets. Combined with her cold little face, it actually made Leticia feel a faint sense of handsomeness.

"I could only find this outfit at home..." Bai Ya explained quietly.

Bai Ling had very few clothes. Bai Ya had searched for a long time before finding this one piece that was somewhat suitable for Bai Ling.

Although this was the school uniform from when Bai Ling was in high school, after Bai Ling put it on, Bai Ya was delighted to discover that her sister wearing this outfit gave exactly the same feeling as seven years ago.

It was as if her sister's time had been frozen at that most youthful and vibrant moment of girlhood.

"Online shopping is so developed now. You could totally buy clothes online, right?" Leticia offered her opinion. Even Xue'er bought clothes for her online.

"That wouldn't have any sense of ceremony. Sister finally came home, so of course I have to take her out for a good shopping trip." Bai Ya counted on her fingers seriously. "Sister was away for four years. Many things here have changed."

"Mm, that park over there has become an office building now, and the nearby elementary school was demolished..." Bai Ling had a good memory. On the way home, she had already noted down all the changes around their home one by one. "And there's one more neighbor I don't really want to see."

"Hey, the way you put it—if you have the guts, move away." Leticia was very displeased. Why make it sound like she was someone everyone found annoying? No matter what, she, Leticia, was at least pleasing to look at, right?

Unlike this Bai Ling, always wearing a sour face.

"Stop fighting!" Seeing that the two girls were about to start arguing again, Bai Ya quickly tugged at her sister's clothes. "Look, the bus is coming."

No wonder Sister Qianqian disliked her sister so much. With her sister's inability to speak properly, what girl could stand it?

"Is this the one?" Leticia asked. Since moving here, she had hardly ever left the house, so naturally she didn't know where this bus went.

"Mm-hmm, this is the one." Bai Ya jumped onto the bus and swiped her transit card three times on the card reader.

"I didn't expect you'd need your sister to pay even for taking the bus." Leticia mocked.

"So do you." Bai Ling was not polite at all.

"Heh."

There were many empty seats on the bus. Leticia naturally chose a window seat and sat down.

The Bai sisters sat in front of her.

The bus slowly started moving, and the scenery before them retreated at a slow pace.

Time passed minute by minute, and the scenery in Leticia's eyes changed from the somewhat deserted streets earlier to a bustling city.

"Central City..." Leticia compared the demon royal city in her memory with this metropolis and helplessly discovered that in terms of architecture, the demon craftsmen were quite thoroughly outclassed by humans.

If only her Demon King castle could be as prosperous and beautiful as this place.

Bai Ling, sitting in front of Leticia, also stared blankly out the window. In her memory, this place had originally been just a small marketplace. She hadn't expected that in just four years, it would become so prosperous.

"Garden Square Station, we've arrived..."

"Sister, Sister Qianqian, we should get off." Bai Ya's voice awakened the two girls with their different thoughts.

When standing up from her chair, Leticia said quietly to Bai Ling: "Your results are quite good."

Bai Ling's pupils trembled for a moment. She was very surprised that Leticia would actually praise her.

Then, she shook her head coldly as usual. "I only did what I should have done."

She had only tried her best to keep conflicts outside the human world. As for these results, they should be attributed to everyone here, not just her.

"Let's go, don't keep Little Ya waiting."

"Tch." Leticia snorted. She had finally praised this guy once, but this guy had no reaction at all. Really boring.

Following Bai Ling off the bus, looking at the bustling pedestrians on the street, Leticia couldn't help but frown.

Weren't there too many people?

"Where are we going?" she asked.

Bai Ling's gaze drifted to her sister. She would listen to her sister.

"A new shopping mall recently opened here, and they're having a sale. Let's go there." Bai Ya smiled as she took out a flyer from her small bag.
