48: Incompetent Sisters
"I've discovered that you really don't know what's good for you. You casually run into someone else's house, and now you're staying and refusing to leave." Facing the motionless Bai Ling, Leticia was at her wit's end.
She couldn't push her! If she used all her strength, her house would probably collapse directly.
"I'll leave once Su Qi is gone." Bai Ling indicated she didn't want to stay either, but with Su Qi remaining at her house, she really didn't dare go back now.
If she went back, she'd be seen by her sister and Su Qi in her current tattered state. Miss Sword Saint really couldn't afford to lose this face.
Why was it okay to stay at Leticia's place?
Wasn't this simple? Leticia had seen Bai Ling's entire body already. In the current situation, this was just a small matter.
"Then I'll go drive her away." Leticia immediately started rolling up her sleeves.
"Don't go." Bai Ling immediately grabbed Leticia's hand. She didn't want Leticia to face her sister directly yet.
This reaction made Leticia sense something was wrong. When had this expressionless Bai Ling ever acted like this?
There was a problem, definitely a problem.
"Is there something wrong with that Su Qi? Why can't I drive her away?" Leticia crossed her arms with an expression that said if you don't explain, I'm going up to drive her away.
Bai Ling's hands twisted together, her expression looking quite conflicted. After a long time, she finally thought of a good reason. "She and Little Ya need some alone time together. It wouldn't be good for us to disturb them now."
Leticia didn't believe this reason at all. What alone time together? Pure bullshit.
If Bai Ling dared tell her that Bai Ya and that Su Qi had something going on, she really couldn't think of why Bai Ling didn't dare go back.
"You wouldn't want to say that Little Ya and Su Qi started dating, would you?"
"Huh?" Bai Ling hadn't expected Leticia's thinking to be so jumpy. How did she associate her statement with Bai Ya and Su Qi having something going on?
And Bai Ling's reaction also explained some things from the side—namely, that there really was nothing between Bai Ya and Su Qi.
"So why can't I go up there?" Leticia glared viciously at Bai Ling.
"What if Su Qi is a demon who knows you? I don't want weird guys running downstairs to my house every day." Bai Ling finally found a somewhat passable reason.
If Su Qi knew Leticia, then given the demon race's level of worship for the Demon King, this young lady would probably stop going to school altogether and spend every day blocking Leticia's door urging her to return as king.
This would indeed be a big trouble.
"That makes some sense." Leticia nodded. She indeed wasn't suitable to go up.
But this didn't mean this Bai Ling could stay here!
"But what does this have to do with you staying at my place? Go, go, go, hurry up and get lost." Leticia continued exerting force.
Bai Ling helplessly looked at Leticia, who was throwing a tantrum. The Demon King really was like a spoiled rich young lady from TV dramas now.
And the best way to deal with this kind of spoiled young lady was to be even more spoiled than her.
This was experience Bai Ling had gained from watching dramas these past few days.
"Be good." Grabbing both of Leticia's hands, Bai Ling pressed this girl onto the sofa. "Chatting for a while won't make you lose a piece of flesh."
"I have nothing to chat about with you." Leticia replied indignantly.
Being so forcefully pressed onto the sofa made her so unhappy.
"Mm, how about we chat about our sisters?" Bai Ling desperately searched for topics she and Leticia could discuss.
The topic of sisters—they really could chat about this. After all, although in some sense neither of them could be considered good sisters, their feelings for their sisters were indeed genuine.
"Sisters, huh? You shouldn't be unfamiliar with Qila, right?" Just as Bai Ling had predicted, after hearing about sisters, Leticia's resistance clearly diminished greatly.
"Not unfamiliar. I originally planned to kill her." Bai Ling didn't hide her original thoughts either.
"If you dare lay a hand on Qila, I'll fucking never forgive you." Leticia immediately indicated that her sister was her reverse scale, warning Bai Ling not to think about harming her sister.
Leticia's attitude toward Qila had always been like this. Her sister could only be bullied by herself—if anyone else dared touch a hair on Qila's head, Leticia would dare chop off that person's hand.
Sighing deeply, Bai Ling was quite satisfied with her decision not to let Leticia meet Su Qi. Looking at Leticia's attitude, if these two sisters really met, something big would probably happen.
"I've already retired. I have no reason to act against Qila again. As long as she doesn't do anything earth-shaking, I won't do anything to her."
"Even if she did, you'd have to get past me first if you wanted to touch her." Leticia snorted coldly.
Regarding Leticia's attitude, Bai Ling was silent for a long time. She suddenly discovered that she and this Demon King shared at least one common point—they both valued their sisters quite highly.
"Bai Ling, if one day Little Ya did what you called something earth-shaking, what would you do?" Looking into Bai Ling's eyes, Leticia asked a quite difficult question to answer.
"Humanity's survival or your own sister—which would you choose?"
"That day will never come." Bai Ling didn't answer, although she was very clear about what choice she would make. "Before that, I would stop her."
"True. Little Ya is different from you—she's just an ordinary girl." Leticia felt her question was somewhat ridiculous. What could an ordinary person do?
It wasn't like her sister Qila, whose abilities nearly matched the Four Heavenly Kings.
"Sigh, not seeing her for so many years, I really miss Qila." Since they were talking about sisters, Leticia became somewhat melancholy.
Since she had slunk away from the Demon Realm, it had been several years since she'd seen her sister. She missed her sister's soft little cheeks, those cheeks that puffed up when she was angry...
"You said before that I wasn't a good sister. Aren't you the same?" Bai Ling indicated they were two of a kind. She had left her sister for so many years—wasn't Leticia the same?
And compared to herself, Leticia was obviously even more excessive.
She had thrown the entire Demon Realm to Qila, which was much worse than Bai Ya's previous situation.
"Perhaps. I've never been a good sister." Regarding Bai Ling's words, Leticia rarely didn't argue back.
In her own view, she, Leticia, indeed couldn't be considered a good sister.
"I'm not a good sister. I don't even know how to be a sister."
"It's rare to see you so honest."
"When have I ever not been honest?"
"Right now."
"Get lost."
