Chapter 18 : The Mother in Danger!

Madame Cladiss has been a great source of support and generosity to the people of the Royal Caribbean, providing donations to charities, volunteering her time, and helping out in any way she can. Residents are grateful for her presence in the port and are eager to see what else she has to offer.

Madame Cladiss was well respected throughout Royal Caribbean for her humility, generosity, and commitment to making the area a better place. Unlike Mother Teresa, Madame Cladiss never abused or insulted anyone, instead doing her best to help the people of the Caribbean and make them smile. Her legacy will remain in the hearts of all Caribbean residents forever.

She came out of the ship in a purple robe as a sign of honor.

"Madam, how are you?"

"May God bless you, madam."

"Madame, I missed you!"

Madame Cladiss was greeted with much fanfare as she disembarked the ship, with many people offering her words of appreciation and admiration. The guards did their best to protect Madame from the large crowd, ensuring she arrived safely at the carriage where she waved goodbye to the cheering crowd.

She arrived at the palace and was received directly by Lord Courtney.

Lord Courtney was delighted to see Madame Cladiss and welcomed her warmly. “It’s so good to see you, Mom! How have you been?” he asked.

“I am good, son. I hope you give me good news from your invitation,” joked Madame Cladiss.

“Sure, Mom! Come in, I already prepare all the best kinds of stuff for you.”

As Madame Cladiss and Lord Courtney entered the palace, they were accompanied by a group of guards who were on hand to make sure they arrived safely.

After tidying up in her room, Madame Cladiss entered the dining room and was greeted by Lord Courtney who was already sitting at the table. Surrounding them was a feast of delicacies, ranging from exotic fruits to freshly cooked dishes. As Lord Courtney and Madame Cladiss settled into their respective chairs.

“So, what’s good news?”

“Princess Alicia from The Royal Union will terminate its partnership with Royal Caribbean,” said Lord Courtney with ease.

Madame Cladiss was surprised by the news Lord Courtney shared. “What?!” she asked.

“That is what I meant by great news,” Lord Courtney replied with a nod.

“I can’t believe this!”

“Mom, The Royal Union it’s been getting a lot of benefits from us. Meanwhile, we only received a few percent profits.” Lord Courtney tries to explain.

“Yes, it may be true we only receive a few percent of profits, but what other benefits are being given to the population? What did you do to convince Princess Alicia to cooperate with us? She is not an easy woman to sway, so I'm sure you had to put in a lot of effort," Madame said, letting her disappointment show.

Lord Courtney was taken aback by Madame Cladiss's response. He had expected her to be pleased with his efforts, but instead, he got criticism.

“Honestly, I a disappointment to you, my son. You invite me for heard the bad news. But I have other news that may bring you some joy. I want to set up another educational foundation at Royal Caribbean, and use the money from your late father as the foundation. Do you think you can agree with that?”

Lord Courtney was stunned. He knew his mother would not be pleased if she found out what he was planning, as the wealth he wanted to acquire was now going to be used for something he had no interest in.

Lord Courtney cleared his throat and smiled, “Let’s talk about this later, Mom. We can finish our dinner first.”

Madame Cladiss placed her utensils parallel to her plate and then wiped her mouth delicately with a handkerchief, “I am finished. I will go to your room this night to get your signature. See you later, My Son.”

Lord Courtney's fists clenched in anger as he thought about the situation. He had worked so hard to acquire the wealth of his last father, and now it was going to be used by people he despised to build something he wanted nothing to do with.

Meanwhile, Samantha manages to find John's house thanks to the help of Darcey (one of Mr. Frank's workers). With confidence, she stands up in front of John's door and knocks on it. Not long time, John opened the door and got a surprised look at Samantha.

“Samantha?”

“Yes, this is me.” Samantha smiling.

John looked around, “Come in.”

Samantha comes into John’s house. Meanwhile, John feels awkward, “So, what’s making you come here?”

“I just want to say to say thank you for your help yesterday.”

“Oh, no problem. Just little favor, that’s fine. You wanna some drink?”

“Yeah, sure.”

“Alright. Please take a seat.”

John goes to the kitchen and takes some drinks for Samantha.

“You are leaving alone?”

“Yeah, I am living alone since 18 years old. My dad married my stepmom three months after my mom passed away, we are moving from here to Abora Island. My stepmom … hates me so much and I don’t want to live with her also. So, I decide to go back to the Royal Caribbean and survive here, then I meet with you.”

Samantha giggled and they are laughing together.

“How about you?”

Samatha starts to tell about their lives, including about William. John just nodded and smile when he listening to her. He won’t be asking about what happened to her when the guards throw her away out of the palace gate. He already knows it.

“You have a nice life.”

“Not really. I will be better if Will have come back and we will move from this disgusting place.”

“When he will come back?”

“I am not sure. It depends on Commodore and their  fucking mermaids.” Samantha smiled sadly.

John was surprised and curious, “So, your brother meet with them?”

Samantha nodded.

“They are not just a legend. They are really exist.”
