3rd Point of View.
"F-Faye?"
In a matter of seconds, Jacob dropped Lucy's body on the ground carefully, tearing and excited to see his daughter again, he run into the midst of the crowds. There were mixed beings running to reach Faye. Beings at the back were stranded and struggling to reach her.
It's rather snug there than the bees inside their beehive, even moving your hand is difficult. One small move, or not move at all, and you're hurt. Crowds were all surrounding Faye. Almost near to holding her hand, Jacob tears up— but a loud bang, an abrupt attack to be exact, put a stop to his illusion. Lives have been taken, lights were taken down, and he sees nothing but a dark and brutal crime scene. His wolf eyes rapidly move to find Faye.
Someone took her and covered her mouth.
"NO!" he yelled and run. Yet, Hunter pulled his hand.
"Where are you going?" asked Hunter "It's no use, we had to run now before anyone sees us. You wouldn't be able to save her even if you managed to reach your girl, anyway."
Jacob snapped Hunter's hand and glared at him. His brows furrowed, lower and lower, as his anger arises. "Who said I wouldn't? Did you know who are you talking to? Are you recognizing me or what? Haven't you said how far I've got?"
Jacob followed what he wants— to reach his daughter's hand and save her from this crucial place.
It's chaotic. Like what Hunter had mentioned, if they didn't go now, they will be the ones in danger— making it harder for Jacob and Lucy to save Faye— Jacob was shotgun in the arm, leg, and thigh. The perpetrator looked like he borrowed his face from the lizard, and couldn't even comprehend what kind of creature was he born from. Hunter blew powder on the killer's face, putting him to sleep.
"Let's go," said Hunter, pulling Jacob's hand, and running away.
It was too fast, everything happened so fast that Jacob didn't notice they were a little bit farther from where they were because he was so busy struggling to get out from the bewitched rope Hunter had put around him.
Hunter lay Lucy on the boat which had wheels that came from his pocket not long ago, placed Jacob inside too, and started to pilot the little boat through the passageway he even made for himself. There was a machine in front of him, showing directions and possible dangers they might face. Hunter took care of Lucy's medicine, now in her sleep to regain the strength she lost along the way.
In the end, Jacob put a stop to fighting with the rope, and silenced himself at the edge of the boat.
Is this still considered to be the fate that the Moon Goddess had promised? A good and prosperous fate they always believe in? Jacob thought, looking hopeless. Then why is his daughter here, huddled together with the crummy creatures even Faye didn't know about? The moon goddess knows nothing, Lucy thought. If this was the best life she was talking about, she must experience living in the real world to know what it means to live.
Then there's a thought that comes to her head.
"It was your fault."
He frowned, suspicious about what he heard. It must've been a hallucination. He's been using his strength continuously without a stop so maybe, it's the reason.
Night time came, and the world was asleep. Despite the doubt, Jacob prayed to the moon goddess. It was a long, quiet prayer. He was surprised when the moon goddess answered him.
"Haven't I told you your prayer is quite selfish?" asked the moon goddess. Still, she's not showing her face to the naked eye Jacob.
"W-what do you mean? I never did that. Whenever I pray, it wasn't always about me— I mean, it was NEVER about me," furious and bewildered Jacob replied.
"How come you're still entitled to say you NEVER did that? Does it mean I'm the liar here when I only work through your needs? You asked for this. Now, it's on the process."
The moon goddess finally showed her face. She's wearing a black dress and black make-up. She looked more like an evil goddess than the moon if humans are to see her and describe how she looks. She smiled creepily at Jacob.
Horror crept into Jacob's face. All of his hair, including the unseen part of his body— the lower one— arises. He remembered.
"Th-that day? Under the blue moon when I asked you to change her mate? How does all of this have to be connected to that? All this brutal destiny she has to walk through, why is this have to be related to that fucking life mate I asked you?!" he asked, releasing a deep and continuous sigh.
"That's for me to know, and you to find out," said the moon goddess, disappearing in the cold, shivering night.
Jacob notices and everything else moves again. It seems like the moon goddess's reappearance before his eyes, remains in his eyes only. She stopped time and talk exclusively with him.
"Are you okay? Why a sudden jolt?" asked Hunter. However, Jacob didn't mind it.
"What does she mean about in the process?" Jacob murmured.
Faye's Point of View.
I opened my eyes.
Ralph and Damion are sleeping beside me but not on the same side. One is on the left, one is on the right. I was laying in an uncomfortable bed— I mean, patchy leaves.
"Where am I?" I murmured to myself, trying to remember what happened before I went here.
Abrupt and rapid moments appeared in my mind, I couldn't fathom every scene I saw, and my head hurts. I grumble, now on my feet, while rubbing my head. Ralph and Damion came to rescue me and checked my pain. Oh, they woke up. Did I grunt that loud?
"Faye," Damion softly called for my name. Ralph did too, but I only heard Damion.
I looked at him. His face looked so worried and helpless about what he could do to attend to my pain. My face feels so red. Why...
"Hey!" Ralph yelled. He finally stole my attention. "You okay?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes. "That was an absurd question, Ralph. Of course, I'm not."
"Oh, finally, you know you're not okay."
"So where are we?" I asked, driving the topic into another one.
"Forest, the hidden forest. Wild animals live here, but it doesn't matter as long as you don't make them feel you're stealing their property. Enormous snakes are normal here—"
"Wait, wait," I cut short Damion. "Are we out of the sea? I mean, the captor's area, their hive."
Ralph insisted to answer, "We escaped them. You forgot?"
Damion chortled while clapping his hands. "Silly you to steal the limelight. You forgot too, Ralph? She lost consciousness, as well as I. You're the only one to take us out of that hive. Then now, you're asking her that?"
Damion continued laughing. I don't know where he's getting constant irritation toward Ralph and vice versa, that the list of his way to peeve Ralph is getting crazier and longer.
"You escaped? You're the only one to do the job? How is that even possible?" I asked amazingly. I don't know, seems like this time, the one to get teased is Damion because I chose him.
"Well, you know that I learned by the rote, right? That's how I escaped the attacker. They were no match to me," he said, and I laughed.
I enjoyed talking with Ralph, too mesmerized by every story he shares with me. I didn't ask in detail what happened back there when he was trying to rescue us because it's really sickening my stomach. He shared what could I find possibly while we live in the forest, and so on. From time to time, some of his stories make me laugh, some make me wonder, some make me sad, and some make me puke.
There was a thought crept into my mind. After a couple of minutes of talking to him, another werewolf is stealing my attention. My mind kept on wondering where he is—yes, he left while Ralph and I are talking— what is he doing, and what was it like to mate with him.
"WHAT AM I THINKING?" I shouted out of the blue, in the middle of my conversation with Ralph.
"What?" he asked, and it snatched me back into reality.
"Oh, nothing. Let me just, uhm, have some fresh air, maybe?" I asked while covering my arms with my hands like I was hugging myself.
"That's great, let's go," he said and led the way again.
"No, what I mean is, I want to go around on my own. It's kind of my thing," I said.
He was desperate to be with me and know everything he could about me, so he was disappointed with my decision. At the end of the day, I was still the only one who has the power to decide what should I do, and he couldn't do anything to influence my decision.
So I walked around.
There were unknown flowers blooming in this forest, leaves bigger than usual, trees smaller than a baby, also trees taller than the buildings in the city of Balkans, and creatures I saw so far are still familiar. I'm still not seeing unusual creatures. Luckily, I'm still not thinking about that darn Damion.
How awful, just in time when he lost track in my mind, I came across him while walking around.
There was a long quiet stare, but he was the one who break it and walked past me. Wait, did that happen?
I looked at him, raising my brow. Then I threw a small rock I saw on the floor, catching his attention. Once, twice, thrice, that's when he finally looked back.
"What's your deal?!" I asked. He rolled his eyes, I could even see his lips trembling.
"What's YOUR deal?" he replied and walked near me.
Were staring at each other, and I almost forgot how to respond. He made me put in awe 'cause of his stunning and cunning beauty. The urge to mate struck my blood. It was boiling so hot, I'm starting to wolf out.
Damion was struggling again while wolfing out. He was greatly in pain, but I know what is this, and there was no point to stop our desire for the pleasure we should've given to each other earlier than today.
I'm claiming my mate.
