~Mia Pov~
I was driving along the highway, my senses on high alert as I noticed a black luxury car tailing me. Suspicion gnawed at me, and without hesitation, I veered off onto a secluded road leading up to Hill Mountain. If someone was following me, I wanted the advantage of surprise.
My heart raced as I parked my car in a desolate area surrounded by dense bush. I remained inside, gathering my strength and preparing to confront whoever lurked outside. Thoughts raced through my mind—could it be Derick and Sophia, sending someone to keep an eye on me? But I couldn't catch a whiff of their scent, raising my suspicion further.
Stepping out of my car, I failed to check my side mirror, a mistake I would soon regret. Before I could react, a force struck me, and darkness enveloped my consciousness. When I regained awareness, I found myself confined within the confines of an opulent mansion. The decor screamed luxury, but everything was drenched in black and gold, reminiscent of the Black Bird Wolves Pack's Mansion.
Confusion and fear gripped me. Miranda was dead, so why was I in a place that resembled the Pack's domain? My senses heightened as I strained to detect any presence, any sign of life. But there was nothing. Even if Miranda were alive, she couldn't have orchestrated my kidnapping. We were allies now, after all.
Footsteps echoed, growing louder with each passing moment. I closed my eyes, feigning unconsciousness, hoping to glean information from my captors. Suddenly, cold water splashed against my skin, jolting me awake. I blinked open my eyes, only to find myself surrounded by a menacing group of rogues, their fierce gazes fixed upon me.
My eyes traveled forward, and my heart sank as I beheld the towering figure standing before me. It was Alpha Eduardo, the most tyrannical Alpha known to our kind. Tremors coursed through me, though I struggled to conceal my fear. I questioned his intentions, desperate to understand why he had brought me here.
Alpha Eduardo's smile curved into a wicked grin as he addressed me by name, Mia. His words sent a shiver down my spine. How did he know me? I denied any knowledge of him, hoping to avoid further conflict. But his response dripped with disdain, labeling me pathetic for not recognizing him as the one I had once betrayed—an Alpha and his pack.
Refusing to succumb to his accusations, I defended myself, asserting that I had betrayed my former Alpha because he had grown dangerously close to our enemies, straying from our plan. Alpha Eduardo dismissed my explanation, claiming it was of no concern to him. My heart pounded in my chest as he demanded to know the whereabouts of Blake.
Fear consumed me, and I stammered, insisting I had no knowledge of Blake's location. In an act of cruel retribution, Alpha Eduardo ordered his rogues to torture me. A hot iron materialized, poised to sear my flesh. Agonized screams tore from my throat, my body convulsing with pain. The scent of burning flesh filled the air, and I teetered on the precipice of transforming into my Wolf form.
Just as I reached the brink, they halted their torment. Alpha Eduardo's imposing figure loomed over me, his eyes filled with malice. He warned me, his voice laced with venom, that he despised games and delay. If he asked me a question, I was to answer immediately, or face a life of unrelenting misery
Pain seared through my arm as the hot iron left a burning mark on my skin. I gritted my teeth, refusing to let them see my weakness, but inside, fear and panic consumed me. I knew I had to tread carefully with Alpha Eduardo, for any wrong move could spell my doom.
"I-I'll tell you," I stammered, trying to compose myself. "But I really don't know where Blake is. He disappeared after the blood moon. I swear it."
Alpha Eduardo's eyes bore into mine, searching for any sign of deception. "If you're lying, little wolf, I'll make sure you regret it," he warned, his voice dripping with menace.
"I'm not lying," I insisted, my heart pounding in my chest. "After the blood moon, he ran off because of Alpha Derick. I haven't seen him since."
Alpha Eduardo seemed to ponder my words for a moment before giving a signal to his rogues, who promptly removed the chains that bound me. My limbs ached as circulation returned, but I dared not show any sign of relief.
"You're free to go... for now," Alpha Eduardo said, a wicked grin playing on his lips. "But don't think you're off the hook. I'll be keeping an eye on you, little wolf. If you so much as sneeze the wrong way, I'll be back, and you won't like the consequences."
I nodded, acknowledging his threat, and wasted no time in fleeing from that dark mansion. My mind raced as I tried to process everything that had happened. Alpha Eduardo was known for his brutality, and being in his crosshairs was the last thing I wanted.
As I drove back to our mansion territory, I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. The fear that Alpha Eduardo's eyes were still on me lingered like a dark cloud, clouding my every thought.
Once I reached our territory, I immediately sought out Blake to share the harrowing encounter with Alpha Eduardo. He stunned to hear that Alpha Eduardo, is around looking for him. Blake listened intently, his expression a mix of concern and anger.
"We can't let him get away with this, or rule us! He is brutal." Blake growled, clenching his fists. "If he's making threats against me, we need to stand up to him."
I scoff, "seriously Blake? remember it's just two of us." Because I knew that standing up to Alpha Eduardo would be no easy task. He was powerful and ruthless, and his pack followed him without question.
"Okay, we need a plan," I said, my mind racing with possibilities. "We can't take him on directly, but maybe we can find a way to fight him with the help of other packs. I am sure everyone knows what he's capable of, they won't think twice before siding with us."
Blake considered my suggestion for a moment before nodding. "It's risky, but it might be our best shot. We both need a ruthless pack to join us."
