Chapter My wealth Against Thomas Jackson’s Wealth

The minister dragged a furrowed brow. A haze of uncertainty flushed across his face as he couldn’t believe his sight.

What in the name of Jupiter is happening? A voice nagged in his head. Who am I seeing? The voice nagged yet further.

Thomas Jackson’s eyes were filled with uncertainty and disappointment. Something inside of him gave way for failure and he couldn’t stop swallowing hard as he winked nervously at me.

The minister rubbed his blue eyes before his fist clutched, “How come? Is that truly Mile Don or does he have a twin?” he queried almost vaguely but not quite sure of what was about to happen

Mr. President dimmed his eyes tightly, “Oh that is Mike Don. Is there any other Mike Don we know or have you heard of Mike Don’s twin. The rich kid is back for good. Didn’t you hear him say it huh?”

Promptly all eyes were on me as innumerable murmuring hung over the crowd. Stylishly I took off my sunshades, signaled at Mira and Zion , my aides and they brought out my credit cards and cheque book.

Thomas Jackson swore under his breath and could barely take his eyes off his competitor as he stared me down.

I recoiled, “Could you please continue the auctioning. Mike Don is back. Four trillion dollars is too cheap to purchase the Suburban Real Estate. A true trillionaire should be able to offer a higher bid,” I intoned, my gaze at the British presenter who was shocked as the entire crowd.

For over thirty minutes the presenter struggled to control the murmuring crowd whose faces lit with anxiety. I could see the number of paparazzi and journalist pump into the hall to have a quick photo shoot at me.

“Um…um…” the presenter’s quavering voice came through in the microphone, “Please can we continue the auction. But before that permit me as I make welcome no other mogul than Mike Don, the world richest man!”

“Holy dragon!” the minister echoed and cupped his jaw, “I can’t believe this is Mike Don. Am I dreaming or what?”

The minister asked the president and kept shooting strenuous gaze at me. But I thought the rich kid lost his fortune and returned to poverty. This can’t be true! What is he doing here? What is happening?”

Mr. President’s gaze scrambled for concentration even when he couldn’t help to settle his stare on me. “My dear, Mike Don is back for good and for worse. This trillionaire is going to shock the entire world with so much wealth that even the dead will rise at his wealth.”

“This is unbelievable. Mike Don? Oh my Jupiter’s brain…” the minister’s voice died off as he gagged his mouth, and struggled to focus his gaze on the presenter who was busy controlling the murmuring crowd now.

Finally a cloud of tranquility spread across the anticipated crowd and the presenter sounded sonorously, “Thank you so much ladies and gentle men for your cooperation. Like I said, Mike Don, the world richest man is in our midst and Thomas Jackson would have to bid higher or stand a chance to lose the Suburban Real State to our incredible Mike Don…”

Murmuring started off yet again and the presenter gestured at them to calm down.

“Boss, it is obvious you have caught everyone by surprise. They didn’t expect your return. Surely we are going to disgrace Thomas Jackson and the rest of our haters,” Zion sounded somewhere close to my ears and clenched his teeth in wrath.

I snorted, curved my lips in fury and swore under my breath, “Watch and see, Zion as I recover all,” I sounded and shot a warning gaze at Thomas who was obviously, tensed as a marathon runner..

The British presenter had a quick grin before raising his gaze on the crowd to continue yet further, “The suburban Real Estate has been taken at four trillion dollars. Any higher bidder?” he requested.

I raised my hands and signaled six trillion dollars, before letting a contagious smile on my face.

Thomas Jackson dragged a furrowed brow and shot an inspective stare at me. A mask of worry stood on his face. His face having a thunderous look was just an understatement.

“Wow! Holy dragon!” the presenter exclaimed almost at the tops of his lungs and paused thoughtfully before resuming the announcement, “The world richest man is willing to pay six trillion for it, any other higher bidder, going… going…”

Promptly Thomas raised his tag and signaled six point five trillion dollars; all the while he did it his gaze was settled on me and the cloud of suspicion and uncertainty stood hugely in his eyes.

The minister shrugged and peered to the ears of the president before mumbling, “Indeed Mike Don is back. Perhaps the media deceived us with rumors and unverified news about his downfall. The person I see there doesn’t look like some one that would ever be poor again. Indeed he has come to shock us.”

The president gave a firm nod and shrugged in like manner, “I told you the Mike Don I know can never be broke. He is not called the world richest man for nothing. Almost all my life I have known the Saint Don Group. They have unlimited wealth. Can you imagine he is willing to give six trillion for the real estate?”

“Oh Thomas Jackson countered,” the presenter continued and smiled at me, “Thomas is willing to offer six point five trillion. Any other bidder with higher figure, going…going…”

Swiftly I raised my tag and signaled eight trillion dollars. The entire crowd being shocked gave a standing ovation as they murmured and chatted irregularly. The murmuring gently subsided to pandemonium.

I could see Thomas Jackson’s face being polished with profuse sweating as he shot a curious gaze at me and wondered.

His aide peered at him and advised, “Boss we can’t compete with Mike Don. Why don’t we respect ourselves and go home…”

Trouble ahead…
