CHAPTER 9

Let me spell it out, I. N. F. O. R. M. I. N. G.

Why did he have to keep this man waiting for a reply when at the end I know he'll probably do whatever the hell he wanted. He did seem like such a person.

I ignored the warmth I felt going up my body at the thought of him.

A small sigh escaped my lips as I told the messenger quite sarcastically to tell his boss they were most welcome.

Well well, seems like I'm going to have housemates for a while.

I'm fucked.

THIRD POV.

Aiden was seated behind his desk his eyes on the papers scattered but his mind elsewhere.

He wouldn't admit to anyone, not even himself that he'd been counting seconds since the messenger left to go and meet his mate, scratch that, ex mate.

Not that he's succeeded in rejecting but the feeling of her being his mate and the sound of mate while having her in mind gets so disgusting.

After they'd returned to the territory he felt—his wolf was on edge having found his mate and leaving her alone.

His human side might've rejected her but since she didn't have a wolf, his wolf very much wanted his mate.

Though he was telling himself the decision was made simply to show her who was the boss now, a sort of show of dominance.

That is partly true and he was aware but what could he do, he couldn't much sit and sulk like a kid who got the toy he didn't like.

He got a mate he didn't like, sulking was not an option for him because he had a pack to run, and a newly acquired gang.

"We seriously can't go to any other place?" Damien asked giving his alpha a look.

Aiden pretended he didn't notice and went about his business, which was trying to not think of the girl.

He was failing though because he couldn't stop. She keeps crawling back into his head even after pushing her off.

"I'm speaking Aiden." Damien stated in a bored tone.

Aiden gave him an equally bored look before raising a brow.

"Yes I an aware Damien, I can hear you." He pointed to his office.

"You can also reply, it'll be much appreciated." He rolled his eyes as he said that.

"We do have other options but I want us to go there, if you have a problem with that, you can chose to stay here until we get back." After a few seconds of thinking of what to say to him, Damien tsked and turned away.

Not ready to give it up, he muttered under his breath knowing well enough with their would hearing, Aiden would catch up on it and he did.

"What is it you just said?" He asked knowing fully well he heard him right, he just wanted him to confirm it.

Fact is, he was frustrated and looking for who to vent on, seems like his beta wanted to take one for the team, literally.

"I said are you sure it's not because you just want to be close to your mate."

"She is not my mate." His wolf moved in his head, he closed his eyes momentarily and inhaled.

THIRD POV

Damien gave his alpha a look and almost burst into laughter at that comment.

"Are you sure Aiden?" He watched him close his eyes and take in another deep breath and he knew save for him being one of his closest friends and his beta that would be the last time he ever spoke a word in the world.

"If you're just going to distract me Damien, you're more than welcome to leave." He pointed at the door as he said so.

His beta made a zipping mouth motion before leaning back in the chair with a huff.

Silence enveloped them after that and Aiden got his bearings enough to read through the report that has been made.

He could feel his wolf trying to break the barrier he'd put up so he could annoy him, he couldn't deal with that right now seeing as he had a lot to do.

"Damien, get the cars ready. We leave the moment light shows."

"Okay boss," Damien replied clicking his tongue.

He got to his feet and Aiden waited for him to leave and when he didn't he looked up and found him studying him.

"What is it?"

Damien smirked.

"It's okay to accept you've found your mate man, maybe she needs a little taming down but it's nothing a little chokehold and spanks in bed won't fix."

Aiden groaned lowly before giving his childhood friend and closest friend an incredulous look.

"We are done speaking about this. I have not found my mate and never will. That's just it."

"But you have found her."

"God give me patience so I don't kill this idiot." He mumbled loud enough for his companion to hear.

Said companion did not care what he said.

"Yes, I have found her but I don't want her. Are you happy now?"

"I just wanted you to admit it." He shrugged before finally leaving, much to Aiden's joy.

He closed the farce work he'd been doing then and threw his head back with a frustrated grunt.

He realized wolf or no wolf he couldn't stop thinking about her even after he'd rejected her but since the bond wasn't completely severed, he could still feel some of its effect on him.

He wondered if she felt the connection too. He rolled his eyes at himself knowing she does feel it, she may not know what it is but she was very much attracted to him.

"Fuck it." He growled pulling at the roots of his hair.

She was making him crazy and it was just the first day, what the fuck was he getting himself into?

He most certainly didn't want her as his mate, it had to be the stupid mate bond.

He tried to convince himself, well he did convince himself and thought of the perfect thing to do to stop feeling that way.

Get a witch and have her sever the bond completely, he groaned hitting his forehead.

CATHERINE'S POV.

As soon as the messenger left, I actually got a few things done and though my lessons on how to be a gang leader was still MIA, I switched to other things like arranging the office and making it presentable.

Not that it wasn't but atleast not my taste.
