Lucas had arrived at the office and a few hours later, he received a text that Emma and her co accomplice had been jailed for six months and she requested to see him.
Lucas deleted the message and concentrated on his work. The last thing he wants in this life is to have a talk with Emma. The harm she had caused his past, present and future happiness cannot be easily forgotten.
He got busy until Greg called and told him that Emma had been jailed but requested to see him. It was Freya who went to see her though.
Lucas bluntly told Greg Freeman that he was not going to honour her request. They practically have nothing between them again, not love, children or good memories together.
But Greg said she wanted to see him on matters concerning Albert. He might not be Albert's biological father, but he raised him until the moment he parted ways with his mother.
Besides, the boy saw him through the eyes of a father. He regarded him as his father and for once, he should consider Albert's wellbeing first and above his resentment for Emma.
Greg's words worked like medicine. Lucas said okay, he would to her during his lunch time. And he would do that strictly because of his son, Albert.
True to his words, Lucas went to see Emma during lunch time. He was generous enough and brought her lunch. When Emma was told she had a visitor, she immediately knew it was Lucas.
When she came out, she saw him standing with his back to her, one of his hands holding a paper bag, and the other hand in his pants pocket.
She stood and glared at him. He used to be her husband. Such a considerate and good guy. If he was ever upset, she caused it.

"Emma Grayson" Lucas called her name in full and came over to sit down. Emma sat down too and placed her handcuffed hands on the desk between them.
"How have you been, Lucas?" Emma asked. She was asking to be formal. Otherwise, she saw with her own eyes that Lucas is doing great and better than he Probably was when they were together.
Lucas nodded. He placed the paper bag before her before saying "I brought you lunch. And I learnt you wanted to see me. Make it brief as much as you can, I don't have all day to myself" he snapped at her.
He didn't even show formalities or ask her how she's doing. What is his business if she's not doing well? Bad besides, she's never going to be fine being in a prison.
Emma glanced at the paper bag and her eyes became teary. "Thank you Lucas" she appreciated. He brought her lunch despite all that has happened between them? He's always been a great guy.
Lucas didn't say a word, just stared at her. She ruined his happiness. She's the reason why he couldn't be with the woman he loves. She took everything from him and she almost would have killed him, if she could.
And what pained him the most was that she had Albert for someone else. If he was Albert's real father, he probably would have taken solace in his past relationship with her whenever he saw the boy.
But it's not totally her fault. He was to be blamed. When he had sex with her back then, he should have confessed his unfaithfulness to Pamela.
It would have saved him from going into her again and again to the point he completely lost his resistance against her. The same sex was what she used to lure him and made him loose guard and sign those properties papers.

When Emma saw that Lucas would not talk to her, she decided to go straight to the reason why she had invited him.
"I requested to see you because first, I want to apologise for my wrongs. I'm sorry for everything and I want you to forgive me.." Emma was saying when Lucas interrupted her.
"If that's why you wanted to see me, I've heard you and I am leaving now" he declared and wanted to stand up when Emma stretched her hand with all difficulty and placed her hands on his.
As if it's an electric shock, Lucas threw her hands off his own and glared at her with hostility and resentment, his fury was so visibly that Emma shivered.
"How dare you lay those criminal hands of yours on me? Are you crazy?" Lucas thundered.
Emma, who hadn't recovered from the violent actions of Lucas shivered and looked at the latter's eyes and then looked away. He hates her that much?
"I'm sorry Lucas. I meant no harm. Sorry if I upset you. Another reason why I called you is to entrust Albert's care to you while I am away.
I can't think of anyone else who cares about him so much like you. You love him and he also calls you father. Would you take his custody and raise him, please" she clasped her hands together and pleaded, her tears running down her cheeks.
"You think I am stupid, Emma? I have been there for Albert since the moment you told me you were pregnant. I took very good care of you and your son until the day the truth got exposed.
Then you made me loose my guard against you by getting me to fuck you all night or perhaps you were the one fucking me. And in the morning, you deceived me by offering me a document to sign and took everything away from me.
You couldn't honorably wait for us to get divorced when you brought your son's father into my house and was getting fucked by him. You probably wouldn't let him sleep all night because your sexual drive is worse than that of a prostitute in a brothel.
Now, you want me to take custody of the same child and keep raising him for you and his miserable motherfucker father? What do you think of me, an idiot?" Lucas demanded, his eyes breathing fire.
Emma's voice choked. She couldn't utter a word in defense. She also had thought it over but had no option. No one else understands Albert and loves him like Lucas, not even her mother.
"I'm sorry, Lucas. But I want Albert to be well taken care of and I couldn't think of anyone else but you…" she pleaded.
"Well, Emma Grayson, I cannot be a fool for the umpteenth time. And I really Pity Albert for having a cheap whore like you for a mother. Your companion and trainer, Freya Grayson, your mother would look after him. After all, she was the one who raised you to be so irresponsible" Lucas ridiculed.
Emma started sobbing. "Albert calls you father, Lucas. Only you did he know and accept as his father" she added amidst tears.
"I live alone and I work hard and late into the night. Albert's health demands that he always have an adult with him. And right now, I am not ready to employ a nanny that I can't trust, who knows if she would end up like the nanny Jessica you got for him.
He stays with your mother but I will take care of his every need. I will ensure that he gets the best medical treatment and attention. His diets will be the best and he would be great and better off without you.." Lucas declared.
Emma nodded. If Lucas can do that for Albert, then it's alright. She was trying to clean her tears and appreciate Lucas when the latter rose up, and said he was leaving.
He didn't even wait for Emma to say goodbye before he turned around and walked away. Emma sighed softly and smiled. Her worries were being taken care of by Lucas already.
When Lucas got back to his car, he sighed audibly. Emma brought this whole shit upon herself. He didn't want to break up with her so soon, just wanted her to confess to him the truth about Albert's paternity.
But she screwed everything up. She went to the extreme and ruined their marriage. Her attitude pushed him towards Nelly and with her, he still got another shock of his life.
