Erin smashed her things and yelled so much anger because of Jane. She was fuming mad because Jane humiliated her in Leo's company. She gritted her teeth and threw whatever things she might touch.
“Jane Fontaine, how dare you treat me like this? You had money because Blossom left you an inheritance. Did you think that I'm stupid?” Erin couldn't understand herself anymore. It was Jane who pushed her to do something nasty to her.
“Power? I'm the owner of this company now! No— I will ensure this company will end up in my hands.” Erin's jaw tensed, so she asked her secretary to clean her office. Erin had thought that she needed to leave the hospital so she would see Robert lying in the hospital bed.
Erin went to the hospital. She was pleased when she found out that there was no one in the hospital. Erin went straight into Robert’s room and saw Robert’s lying in the hospital again. Since Robert wasn’t her father, she could be rude to him. Robert didn’t know how to fight back, and she was confident that Robert was genuinely unconscious since she went to the hospital unannounced.
“Dad, I’m here!” Erin acted like she was happy that she went to the hospital. Erin came closer to the heart machine and scoffed when she saw Robert’s heart was thumping.
“Dad, is it too much that I wanted you to die? I want the company now, and I think that as long as you are alive, I won’t be the true owner of your company as long as you are still alive.”
“If you die today, I will ensure I will give you the best funeral.”
“Please, Dad, you shall die now. I don’t want to see you anymore. I won’t be fatherless if you die since I discovered you are not my father. My mother was secretly sleeping with your brother, your favorite brother that you always helped with. Is it a little bit ironic that they betrayed you? They wanted your money so badly.”
“I appreciated how you treated me like your daughter, but sometimes I’m mad at you because you didn’t want me to be with Leo.”
“If your daughter isn’t gullible. You wouldn’t let me marry him. I hate you.”
“I want you to die.” Erin’s eyes watered when she spoke those words. She remembered how Robert had treated her when he had found that she was his daughter, it was okay, but she was looking for a father figure. Robert supported her financially, and he didn’t even resent her for financial support.
“I don’t think it’s too much because you are old now. And if you die, you can have peace, and my mother will be happy to marry your brother. Is it amazing?”
“My mother doesn’t need to act as if she loved you. She doesn’t need to act desperate to get your attention.” Erin didn’t have plans to stay for long. She only displacement her frustration with Robert, and she felt enlightened. She would do this again whenever someone was making her mad.
Erin was about to leave the hospital when Sophia came inside. She smiled sweetly at Sophia. When Erin sees how Sophia acted as their maid made, Erin feels delighted. It was Sophia’s fault that she was illiterate.
“Erin, I didn’t know that you were here. If I know, I will buy you some food too.” Sophia said with a smile. She was carrying two paper bags in her hands, which made Erin raise her brow.
“It’s a lot of food. Are you starving?” Erin was trying to make fun of Sophia. She was sarcastic that only Sophia could buy a meal from a cheap restaurant. Erin’s face turned sour because she never ate cheap names of the restaurant. “Sophia, thank you for your concern, but I didn’t like eating food like that. It’s so cheap that I might think it’s trash.”
Sophia shuddered her shoulders. She wanted to laugh because she knew Erin didn’t like eating low-priced meals. Sophia was trying to converse with her because Sophia wanted Erin to see that Sophia was necessitous and didn’t have power over her. Sophia wanted Erin to take down her guard and think that she finally win over her.
“Oh! I’m sorry, I didn’t know you didn’t eat this food. Cheap meals are what I always eat when I’m not here. Do you still want to stay here? Are you irritated, or do you have some problem?” Sophia forced herself not to fight back against Erin because Sophia would make sure that once she exposed herself to Erin, Erin would be in a panic.
Sophia wanted to witness everything, especially how Amelia and her uncle Sam discovered that she wasn’t uneducated but the company's owner. Sophia had a lot of bombs that were waiting to explode.
“I understand why you’re eating that thing because you didn’t have the money when you weren’t here. Dad stopped supporting you financially at that time. Aren’t you mad at him that he abandoned you after he lived with his mistress? Dad acted that you don’t exist in our family.” Erin wanted to make a fire between Sophia and Robert. She tried to use Sophia for her gain. Erin thought that if Sophia was on her side, there was a big chance that Sophia would kill Robert for her sake!
Erin would have clean hands, and she could push Sophia to the police as the murderer of Robert. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone. Erin could finally get rid of Sophia when it happened.
Sophia finally smelled what Erin wanted her to do. She was not stupid to distinguish her intentions, but since Erin knew how foolish she was, she would act like that again.
“Sophia, I understand that Daddy didn’t want to feel your mother hurt. Aside from that, it’s fine with me because I’m thankful I used to live a simple life.” Sophia uttered, which made Erin groan in too much frustration.
Erin shook her head. She was disappointed that Sophia was stupid and didn’t have a hatred towards Robert. Erin believed that Sophia could still be mad and she was not a martyr.
“Dad still gives me a family. Erin, you are my family, right?” Sophia wanted to chuckle when she watched how Erin swallowed in so much annoyance. Sophia knew that Erin was trying to act like a good sister to her because Erin didn’t want Sophia to fight for Sophia’s rights to Robert’s family.
Erin had no choice but to nod so Sophia wouldn’t suspect her intentions. Erin grinned when she had thought to humiliate Sophia without Sophia noticing it.
“Sophia, if you want to work in our company, maybe I can pull some strings. Unfortunately, the board of directors might not want you to work with us in a higher position. They might be assigned you to a defective part like a janitress. If it's fine, you can have your own money.” Erin smiled innocently and felt glad that Sophia didn't notice that she was trying to embarrass her.
Sophia closed her eyes and tried to stop herself from rebutting Erin with class.
“Erin, I'm thankful that you are concerned about me. But I will consider your offer since I truly work as a janitor when I'm not here.” Sophia answered and smiled at Erin.
Erin felt disappointed that Sophia wasn't mad at her. Erin was making Sophia pity herself, but Sophia acted like it wasn't a big deal to make herself angry with Erin.
“Sophia, I'm worried about you. I want to help you, even though it's small.” Erin was so sweet when she spoke those words.
Erin glanced at Robert's body, and Sophia went inside the room. She watched how Sophia prepared her gross meals, and seeing the cheap Tupperware made Erin want to run. Erin didn't like to eat it, and there was a chance that Sophia would ask Erin to eat with her.
“I will leave now. Take care of Daddy. I love him so much.” Erin chuckled and left the hospital.
Sophia's face darkened. Sophia gripped the paper bag in so much anger. She was starting to pant, and she took her phone.
“I want you to follow her. Don't let her see Leah.” Sophia ordered.
Sophia would do anything to fight with Erin silently. She wanted to witness how Erin would act like a distressed woman.
“Is Johnny will go here?” Sophia asked, and when she looked at her father, Robert was finally awake, and there was a tear in his eyes.
“Dad… I told you that she isn't your daughter.” Sophia informed Robert, which made Robert swallow in so much anger.
“I will go with your plan, Sophia.” Robert finally decided, which made Sophia nod at him. Robert kept denying what he had learned. After Erin married Leo, Robert decided to make a DNA test with Erin without Amelia noticing it.
When he discovered he was not Erin's father, he thought Erin didn't know her father, and Erin might choose him over Sam. Robert didn't know that Erin knew about her father now, and when he heard what Erin wanted, he felt that his chest was clenching in so much madness.
Robert couldn't believe that Erin wanted him to die. He did everything for Erin and even disregarded his legitimate daughter to make Erin not feel that she was illegitimate.
“Dad, they might kill you now. You did the right thing for your company. I can buy it for you.” Sophia went to Robert and gave Robert the food that she had bought from an expensive restaurant. Of course, it was costly, but Sophia replaced the food with cheap Tupperware so Erin would think it was her only food.
“Don't worry. I bought this at a well-known restaurant. I already ate the meal in the Tupperware and replaced it with the meal I bought for you.”
Robert bit his lips, and his tears fell from his eyes. Sophia took sighed and took the napkin. Sophia moved closer to her father and wiped her tears.
Sophia looked away. “When I was young. You always wiped my tears whenever I was crying in pain. Dad, I forgive you because I found out that you didn't know who killed Mom. But don't stop me from ruining their lives because they ruined me first.”
“I…” Robert sobbed. He took the napkin and wiped his tears. He was embarrassed that it was Sophia who was protecting him now. “I don't have plans to stop you. I'm sorry because Erin is right. I abandoned you and felt that I'm such a terrible father to you.”
Sophia smiled, and her smile was finally complete with sincerity. “If you didn't abandon me. I might be dependent on you. I realized that you made me fight for myself. You made me feel that I can do all things. Dad, I'm richer than you. Did you forget about that?” Sophia smirked, which made Robert cry even more.
Leah stood up while a white blanket covered her body. She had a blank expression while she was looking at the beautiful view of the beach. Leo was still sleeping in the bed, and Leah slowly formed a small smile on her lips.
Leah didn't know why she felt happy but remorse simultaneously. Leah felt that she did something terrible to Leo's wife, but there was a part of her telling her that she did the right thing.
Leah sighed hard when she gazed at Leo, she wanted to run away, but her body was betraying her. She couldn't understand why her brain and heart weren't the same now.
The sounds of the waves made her calm, making her close her eyes to enjoy the breeze of the wind touching her skin. Leah didn't know how long she was closing her eyes.
That time, Leo opened his eyes and was about to panic when Leah wasn't in his arms. He thought that Leah would leave him because of what he had done to her.
Leo felt relaxed when he was Leah watching the waves. He went closer to her and hugged her tightly.
Leah was startled when Leo embraced her tightly. She was having a goosebump when Leo began kissing her nape.
“I thought you left me,” Leo mumbled, making Leah face him.
“Mr. Fontaine, this is not right..” Leah didn't finish her words when Leo claimed her lips. He boldly kissed Leah, which made Leah gasp.
“Everything is fine, Leah. Trust me.” Leo assured Leah before he attacked her mouth again. Leah decided to respond because her heart wanted to be with Leo as long as Leo wanted.
