Katherine raised her hand and the director turned to her. "Yes, you have something to say, let’s hear it."
"Sir, who then is the female lead since we have the male lead already?" She asked and the director smiled as he scanned the room and settled his eyes on me and I blinked rapidly as his lips parted to answer her questions.
My heart raced as he looked into my eyes and I pursed my lips, is this what I think it is?
"You will find out after the practise since it's already in the newspaper." The director said the words and we all whined, what is the point of keeping us in suspense.
Ryan turned to look at me and I saw his gaze from the corner of my eyes. "What?" I asked him, it was offending me that he was always sitting next to me during practice, I wish he could just go somewhere else.
"I can hear your heart racing." He looked down at my chest and I glared at him. "Don't worry, you are not the female lead." He looked away from me with a smile.
He truly has the knack for annoying people.
"Let's practice now if there are no more questions." The director turned to Ava and Chloe. "It's your cue." He told them and they both stepped forward while we all got to our feet.
"Today, we will be taking Act IV, we got a new dance step for you all," Ava said these words and turned to Chloe who nodded and stepped forward. "Chloe would show you some of the moves."
I smiled when I saw the smiles on Chloe’s face, she was admirable and I like how she smiles at me too, she was not only good but also kind.
We all walked out of the practice hall chattering as we left. "Ivana, let's go check out who the female lead would be, I am too curious to know," Kate told me as we walked out.
"Right," I flashed her a smile and turned to go with her but our path was blocked by Katherine and we looked at her wondering what she had to say this time.
Katherine smirked, lifting her phone for us to see the content on her phone screen.
"You don't have to stress yourself to check it, it's already here, I am always the female lead." She put down her phone where I had already seen her image and a big female lead as the heading.
It was awesome that her name was already in the media. I was happy for her.
"Now beat the rejected candidate." She smiled and Kate whispered in my ear.
"I take back the words I said earlier about her, she doesn’t look kind." Kate pressed her lips together and I took a deep breath as I stared at Katherine who stood there smirking like she owns the world.
"Well, I didn't know you considered me as a rival." My words seem to wipe off the smiles on her face and I heard Kate chuckle, I was sure she is proud of me right now.
"I don't consider you as a rival." Katherine furrowed her brows and I smirked, crossing my hand over my chest.
"I was not aiming to be the female lead anyway..."
"Don't make me laugh, everyone wants to be the female lead but as you can see it only suits me." She wobbled her brows and I shook my head with my lips pressed down.
"You are wrong Katherine," I exhaled softly. "I should be saying this to you, but I just need to clarify your misunderstanding."
Katherine sighed. "If you will say nonsense then keep it to yourself." She raised her hand for me to keep shut, but I hate being silenced so I spoke the words.
"My dream is to stand on stage, even if I don't get signed by an agency, it doesn't matter to me, as long as I stand on stage while the camera flashes and the crowd cheers me on," I told her with a smile and she rolled her eyes at me.
"Who would believe that?" She shook her head flipping her hair back with her hand. "Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that you are no match for my skills so go practice hard, the director might still eliminate someone, who knows, it might be you, you just got lucky to still be here with us, you have come this far to be kicked out, so work harder." She gave me a once-over and walked away and I ground my teeth as I glared at her while she walked away.
She reminded me of someone, I glanced back just to see the person she reminds me of coming over to us.
"Kate, we better leave now," I told her and turned to hurry away since I don't want to talk to that nutcase right now.
Kate turned her head to see Ryan and I saw her grin. "Ivana, it's Ryan, can you ho alone, I will see you soon." She told me and I knew Kate wouldn't go with me as long as she sees Ryan.
"Alright, see you later," I told Kate and walked as quickly as I could to get far away from Ryan.
I was about to make my way to rye practice hall but Robin drove over with his car. I recognized the car and stopped as he was closing the passenger's window and I leaned on it to get a better look at his face.
"What's with the car?" I raised my brows. "Are you going somewhere?" We still have some lessons to learn and also practice.
"Yes, get in," Robin told me with a smile.
"I have to go practice." I was not ready to play with him right now, the show is around the corner and I have to master the dance, even if I was not the female lead or only want to stand on stage, I still have to practice well for the show.
Robin frowned at me but it was cute seeing his furrowed brows. "We only finished practising a few minutes ago, for now, you should get into the car." He told me and I shook my head at him.
"Sorry Robin, let's meet later." I shook my head and turned to leave but I heard his car door open and a hand grabbed me and whirled me around and he pulled me close to him. "What are you doing Robin, we are still in school.
"I don't give a fuck." His hand was wrapped around my waist and his other hand traced my face as he tucked my hair behind my ear and caressed my face.
"Robin, what the heck are you doing now?" I looked at him, he was acting strange.
"You don't pay attention to me anymore Ivana." He said softly and I wanted to snigger right now but held it in when I noticed his cold gaze. "Don't laugh, it's not funny and I feel uneasy."
"I am just preoccupied with practising, Robin," I said softly, he was right, I have been so busy with a practice that I barely look at him or think much of him.
"I know, but I am here too, you're always with Kate or you are in the practice room, I know what this show means to you, but how about me, I still need you to teach me how to love you, that is more important to me and I can't learn if you are always preoccupied, Ivana."
I stepped away from Robin and he raised the corner of his brows at me. "I have to go practice, I will meet you at home." I was happy to stir Robin up this way, he was saying too many sweet words to me recently. "Don't be clingy," I told him and turned to leave but he held my hand.
"Then, let me practice with you." He said the words but I pulled my hand from his. "Aish, Robin, you can't dance and you don't plan to learn how to, you will only distract me, so it's a big no, see you, Robin." I waved at him and left to go learn more dance moves.
