I held on to the sense while sitting on the sofa with dad, mom, and Janel. Jr. was still out there and was currently yelling at the woman.
The shouting has been heard up to here and obviously, the woman really doesn't want to lose. If Jr. doesn't love me even though I love him, I will give IP on him to that girl.
I don't know how many minutes they've been there and all we hear here is shouting. We just looked at the door at the same time when Jr. entered.
"I'm sorry for what happened." Jr. apologized to us then came over to me and sat down next to me. "Mia."
"It's not your fault," Papa replied. “But I hope your problem with that woman is fixed before your wedding. It's only been a few months and it might even cause a scandal in the church,” he added.
"Don't worry Jr. we don't blame you for what happened earlier." Mama looks at me at once. "I am just thinking Mia." I looked at mama who was smiling at me.
"Mia," Jr. whispered then took my hand. "Sorry."
“I'm sorry for what I did earlier. I couldn't control myself because of what she said.”
“Oh Mia, you're just ahead of me. Otherwise, that caterpillar will actually go home to borrow a dog's face.”
"Janel," mama scolded her.
"I'm sorry, but it's thrilling because you can imagine who knows a lot about my sister's life."
"I'm really sorry for what happened."
"All right, go home and it's too late also. So that you can rest. I'm not angry, I just want to rest,” I said while patting his hand.
He didn't answer what I said and then looked at papa.
"Uncle, can I take Mia home to sleep." Papa, Mama, and I looked at each other. "Don't worry, I won't break you or aunt's trust in me." Papa looked at me before answering.
“We also trust our daughter. If it was just us, there would be no problem but of course, only Mia could decide then.”
Jr. looked at me then squeezed my hand.
"Okay," I said.
WE LAY side by side on the bed and Jr. hugged while I lay on his arm. I want to turn a blind eye but I can't because I'm thinking about what happened earlier. My face sank into his chest.
"You can not sleep?" he asked.
"Hmph!"
"Why?"
"Nothing."
"Are you thinking of Amanda?"
"What if she doesn't stop."
"Are you afraid I might trade you for her?" she asked me.
"No." I looked at him who was now looking at me as well. “Because I can't force you if you don't want me anymore. But I hope you don't extend it to the wedding day before you say you don't want to."
“Mia, if you think I'm going to trade you for Amanda, you're wrong. I would rather live alone if you are not with me.”
"I'm sorry for my thoughts Jr., I don't know but my mindset is becoming negative again because of her."
“I understand, I can't blame you Mia, but I hope you trust me. I promise I won't do anything to hurt us or make you feel bad. I love you and I am the first to be hurt when you are hurt.”
He kissed my forehead and pulled me closer to him. I can feel him caressing my hair.
"Just don't think about anything, huh?" I nodded and hugged him tightly. "Remember that I love you," he added.
“Get rid of the negatives in your mind. Tomorrow is the feast of St. Vicente, let's go to church, and then let's go take a roam.”
I smiled at the idea he said.
"All right, I missed the fair too."
JR DROVE ME HOME EARLY. He also left because he had people to take care of. Before leaving he reminded me about our walk tonight.
When I entered the house I caught mama, papa, and Janel eating.
"Or you're here with us." Mama was with me so I came over and sat next to papa. I noticed that papa was relatively quiet while eating.
"So, are you okay?" I asked when I could sit down.
"Mia, please don't give a bad meaning to my question to you but ---- are you really sure about marrying Jr?"
I was surprised by papa's question.
"What do you mean?" I asked and then looked at mama and Janel.
"Mia, your dad means it's not too early for your decision. It's not that Jr. and I were just surprised because you haven't been together for a long time. You know, a lot happened before so you might just be scared that might happen again and no one else with you.” The second is mom.
I couldn't answer what mama said. I looked at Janel who just shrugged.
“I understand, I can't blame you for what happened last night and what happened to you in the past. But still, Jr. and I love each other. We wouldn't get married just because we were afraid we might still be separated. We will get married because we want to build our own families.”
Dad and mom didn't answer.
"Mia, I will support you no matter what happens." Janel reached for my hand.
"Did you change your mind about Jr. from what happened last night?" I ask.
"It's not like that, we just thought that maybe you're just surprised because you love him and he's the first one you loved."
"Mom, I'm asking if your opinion of Jr. has changed because of what's going on?" I asked and looked at papa.
“No, but we can't help but think that he might hurt you unintentionally. Jr. is still a man and you love him. Whatever he does, good or happy, good or bad, it will all affect you,” explained papa.
“I understand, don't worry about where all this will end. I will bravely face everything. What is important to me is that I allowed myself to love Jr. and accept his offer to marry me. That way I have no regrets.”
"Your papa and I are just here," said mama.
"Mia, I trust you, we don't want you to get hurt," said papa.
"I know that," I said. "And I promised I can handle everything.
