Chapter SIXTY-NINE

AFTERNOON when Jr. came for us to talk about going to church. Since Janel was not doing anything, she came with us. I said Jr. I would take her with me. He agreed and said there was no problem, it was nice when there were many of us.

We first went to church at St. Vicente church. Jr. and Janel put me in the middle.

"Janel, did you know that your sister and I went to church for the first time? She slept in church."

The mass hasn't started yet so there is still time to talk.

"Really Mia?" Janel asked laughingly.

"Are you embarrassing me?" I whispered to Jr but I listened to Janel.

“No! I just told you because I remember it.”

"You're embarrassing Mia."

"Your sister is even snoozing."

"Hey you're too much, yes I fell asleep but I didn't sleep," I complained.

"You didn't even realize the mass was over." Janel laughed a little loudly at what Jr said so I scolded her.

“You're terrible Mia, if I was with you then I wouldn't really wake you up until the church closes. It is obvious that you are demonic.”

They both laughed at the same time so I kicked them both.

The mass began so the two were silent. I listened intently to the mass, but the truth was that I was drowsy so I just didn't want to let them know and they might laugh at me. But I really can’t help but be yawning simply. Fortunately and in the back we sat.

I finished the mass well. Before leaving the church we lit a candle and prayed.

I prayed that all would be well with Jr. and me. I did not control our destiny but I asked God to guide Jr. and me. I wish we had stayed until the end. I am also thankful because despite what we went through we still met again and came together.

I’m not sure what will happen in the next few days, months, or years. Many things can happen in just a minute. But I wish that whatever could happen and I would accept it with open arms.

I love Jr., dear dear. I can handle losing him even if it hurts for me. But I don’t know what will happen to me as I fight the pain. Especially now that he has made me feel his love more.

I’m used to him always being there for me. I'm used to him always sympathizing. A few times we walked away, got hurt, and avoided but it eventually proved that we really were. So I don’t know where to pick myself up when I will get hurt again. They may see the living dead.

After lighting a candle, we ate fast food to our heart's content and then went to the fair. As we walked around Jr. suddenly spoke.

"Janel, did you know that the first time Mia and I rode the Ferris wheel, she vomited."

I laughed when I remembered it. Janel also laughed out loud.

"Really Mia?" I nodded.

“He even swore that she would never ride the Ferris wheel again. But I was able to ride with her again when I came home from abroad but she was with his ex.”

"Ow, Dylan?"

“Yes, she's too courageous with her ex. She didn't even have a reaction. It's different with Mia than I was with who just shouted.”

“Hey, I was just being brave then. I just don't want to show you that I'm weak.”

“Because you were with your ex then,” he whispered.

"Are you jealous?" Janel asked him.

"No!" Jr. said then averted his eyes.

“It's so obvious.” I looked at Jr. who was now looking at me.

"If I could just pull your sister and take her home, I would have done it."

He didn’t lose sight of me while saying that.

“But I don't have the right to do that because I know I won't be owned. For a few nights, that scene also kept me awake, my love for your sister was hunting me down and I felt like I was going to die in pain.”

"That's cheesy." Janel said laughing.

"Jr.," The three of us turned to the source of the voice was none other than Jr.'s ex. "I know it was you, you're here too."

“Jr, let's go buy chips. I want to buy popcorn. Mia, don’t you like it too?” Janel pulled Jr. and I's hand and then left when Jr.'s ex suddenly spoke.

"I won't be surprised if one day you will like Jr." Janel stopped pulling Jr and me then confronted the woman.

"What did you say?" She asked the woman angrily.

"I said, Jr., is used to stabbing siblings, just like me and Ade."

"You're -----" Jr. didn't finish what he was going to say when Janel interrupted.

"Are you saying I'm a bitch?"

“I didn’t say that, I said ----”

"It's still bitch, that's what you want to say." I didn’t scold Janel for talking to the woman.

“You still want the couple's slap that my sister gave you? Do you want to taste mine too? Also, don't make me look like you, a bitch that even though you already know that Jr is your sister's boyfriend you still flirting with him.”

I was stunned when Jr. looked at me. I didn't tell him that I had told Janel about them before. I signed peace with him.

“Don't chase with Jr. because you are not the kind of woman he will exchange for my sister. And don't make us an issue because we are not worthless bitch like you.”

The woman could not answer what Janel said so she turned her back on her.

"Let's go and play the Ferris wheel!" she shouted. "Ignore the bitter ones!"

Jr. messed up his hair.

"Your sister is big girl now Mia, she can fight in the war."

"I'm going to war!" she shouted so Jr. and I laughed.
