Chapter SEVENTY

I accompanied Janel to meet her client who wanted to build a mini bungalow. I’m so proud of my sister because at her young age she has already proven a lot. Their conversation with her client was successful because she was amazed at her proposal so she closed the deal.

"Mia, let's eat first," she said when we got out of the building where they talked when she made a deal.

“Where are we going to eat? You see those restaurants that are socially friendly, it's expensive to make sure.”

“What do think of us? We are rich now and we can afford that. Am I an engineer remember?” She said arrogantly while laughing. Then look at restaurants to shop. "Mi'Amore Kitchen, I like it there sister because it looks like your name." She said.

“Are you sure there, looks really classy, see? ” I ask because it looks really expensive.

“Of course. Let's go and I will pay, not you.” She pulled me into the restaurant. "I have savings so I'll take care of it," she added.

Once inside we were immediately greeted by the guard and greeted by the crew. We were asked if there was a reservation. when Janel said nothing we were brought to a table. The classy feel of this resto. I really like their mint red theme. Plus the ambiance around is cool. I really fell in love at first sight of this restaurant.

We picked up the menu that was placed across from us. Janel is the one I choose what we eat because I'm busy looking around. When she ordered, the waiter also left.

“Nice here?” she asked.

"Yeah, it's amazing."

"Your fave red so you're amazed," she said.

"Maybe, but no, it's really nice here,"

"You have a point,"

Our order arrived in just thirty minutes so we started eating as well. Later, a waiter returned with bubble tea with taro flavor and buko pandan with corn. Janel and I were both surprised because it wasn't on the menu and we didn't order it.

But I smiled at the buko-pandan with corn because I remembered something.

"Ah miss, we didn't order that," Janel said.

"It's not included in the menu, it's free here for all customers, it's our boss's specialty," the waitress replied. "Enjoy ma'am," she added.

“Thank you,” Janel said. "In fairness, this is our favorite is bubble tea, especially the corn on the cob." I smiled and then gasped. "Are you okay Mia?"

“Hah! Ah yes, I'm fine,” I said then continued eating.

"It's hot!" I turned to the man who had just arrived. It's as if I'm bored but I can't see the look. He looked at me and we were both shocked.

"Lax."

"Mia."

We called each other at the same time and he immediately approached me.

"How are you?" we also asked the same question so we laughed.

"I'm okay, you?" I ask.

"I'm okay, long time no see," he replied.

"My sister, Janel, Janel this is Lax, my friend." I introduced them. "Do you work here?" I asked when I noticed he was wearing a uniform similar to the waiters but with a different design.

“Yes, I’m in the office,” he said.

"Really?"

“Yes, I was scared, my children are growing up. The backup became stronger then and I was afraid of being imprisoned. Unfortunately for my children, this is why ----- I changed my life.”

"Wow, I'm happy because I know you've improved Lax."

"How are you?" he asked me.

"It's ok, I'll get married next month," I replied then showed the ring.

“Really? That's good news, maybe you can invite us.”

"Of course, wait," I said as I took the invitation. "I'll wait for you!"

"Of course, I'm happy to see you again, Mia, and know that you're ok and you're as good as I am." He tapped me on the shoulder.

"Ah, Lax." I looked at Janel first then smiled and looked back at Lax. “How's Dylan? I have no news from him.”

If there's anyone I'm so grateful to have passed through my life, it's Dylan.

"Haven't you met yet?" he asked so I shook. "He's here too."

"Really?" I was happy to ask because I found out that he also works here.

“Yes, you want to see him? I'll bring you with him.” I looked at Janel to ask her permission. maybe I'm going to do something wrong, especially now, that I'm getting married.

"All right, Mia, I'll support you as long as you know what to do and not to."

"Thank you," I said then followed Lax.

On the second floor, Lax took me to the next room.

‘CEO’s Office.’ I read what was written on the signage.

"Dylan is the CEO here?" I asked Lax.

"CEO / Owner," he replied then knocked on the door three times before opening the door.

"O 'Lax, why?" I immediately smiled when I heard his voice. It was as if it had become dominant. "Someone is looking for you."

"Who?"

Lax widened the door.

"Mia?" I can see the shock in his eyes so I smile at him.
