What is she trying to say?
Is she referring to me?
What did I do?
“Is it true?” A man in his forties approached me.
He is holding a piece of thin log with a sharp edge. It looks the same as the one from the elder’ s house.
What is he referring to?
“What is it?”
“Is it true that you’re a thief?”
What?!
“I’m not!”
I shook my head multiple times.
What is he saying? I’m not a theft!
“Liar! I saw you with my two eyes!” Giselle shouted.
What the?!
“Are you crazy?!”
Now she’s accusing me of theft?
“Get her! She’s a thief!” Giselle held my arm and pushed me to the man.
“Stop pushing me!” I slap her hand and face the man.
“I think there’s a misunderstanding, I don’t know what she is talking about and I am telling the truth!” I tried to stay calm as long as I could.
Wolves started to gather around us but Giselle looks like she doesn’t care at all.
“Don’t listen to her! I have a witness!”
Huh!?
Giselle steals the attention of the werewolves around us.
When I looked at her, she pulled someone from the crowd and pushed that person in front of us.
“Tell them what you saw!” She said,
My eyebrows raised automatically when I realized that the one she pulled was also the one that laughed at me when Giselle poured soup on me.
Isn’t this a trap?!
“I-I saw it too…”
She said,
I laugh in disbelief.
I got their attention in a second.
“I can’t believe you’re teaming up to build some lies!” I said while laughing.
“We’re not lying!” Giselle kept on lying.
Well, if they’re being like this, then I’ll fight them.
“Then, what did I steal?”
Giselle was shocked by my question. She must not have expected it.
It took her a while to answer.
“I-It’s Alpha’s favorite book! Right?!”
She shouted then asked the girl beside her.
“That’s r-right…”
Oh really? You’re so obvious. Tch.
“How did I steal it?”
I saw her face become pale.
“W-why are you asking?!”
“Why not? Isn’t it just right to ask the ‘witnesses’ about the ‘crime’ that I did?”
I made sure that I emphasize the words witness and crime.
“Isn’t that right?” I asked the man that’s with them.
He nodded his head.
“There’s nothing wrong with that.” He said.
“See? Then, all you have to do is to answer. HOW DID I STEAL IT?”
Giselle’s eyes started to roam around. I can now see the sweat on her forehead.
“Y-You went to Alpha’s chamber earlier…”
Oh yeah?
“If I’m correct, Alpha Alejandro’s chamber is out of reach since there’s a lot of guards around it. How would I even get there in the first place?”
Giselle’s eyes widened.
You didn’t think this far huh?
“B-Because y-you-“
“And why would I steal a book when I’m illiterate? What would I do with that?”
“You’re illiterate?” The old man asked me.
I nodded my head.
“Yes, and I don’t even have the access to the floor where Alpha Alejandro is, as you can see, I am here outside because I don’t have a room where they’re staying.”
He nods his head.
“Then what are you doing here in front of this house?”
“I am hoping that they would let me sleep somewhere in their house even just for tonight.” I said in a matter of obvious tone.
Everyone went silent.
They must be weighing things, that includes Giselle, and I wouldn’t let her think of another lie.
“There’s just two possibilities,” I raised my hand in the air.
“One, you’re saying that Alpha’s guards aren’t doing their jobs properly, OR… you are just lying and making up these things.”
I took a step forward.
“What could it be in those two?”
Giselle’s face became paler. It looks like she will faint every minute by now.
I would love to see that though.
I dragged Alpha’s guards because it would have a big impact when things connected to Alpha Alejandro got involved.
Just like what she did, she accused me of stealing something from Alpha Alejandro and because it involves him, I will surely have a severe punishment.
It can lose me my hand or worse, my head. But I wouldn’t let that happen.
“So?” I waited for their response but they didn’t say anything.
Even the girl beside her just kept her head down.
That’s right, you should be ashamed of what you did.
You idiots.
Later on, the old man interrupts.
“I apologize for accusing you as a thief, rest assured that we will punish those who’s root of all this.”
He said then bowed at me.
I bowed to him and looked at Giselle.
She looked really embarrassed.
When our eyes met, I smirked at her and rolled my eyes.
It’s payback time!
The old man and his companion dragged Giselle and her friend out of this place.
Giselle surprisingly didn’t say anything.
She just let the guards drag her.
Good for her.
I thought she would disgrace herself even more by shouting at me.
I never thought that she had shyness in her body.
She kept on surprising me.
I watched her being dragged until I couldn’t see her anymore.
The crowd’s also decreasing…
Phew…
I thought I wouldn’t get away with this issue again. Thank you brain!
“Ms. Araia?”
I turned around to see who called me.
It’s Geronimo!
“Yes?”
Why is he here?
My eyes widened.
Don’t tell me he’s going to punish me?!
“Alpha’s looking for you.”
Wait.
“Alpha Alejandro?”
Geronimo nodded.
“Why is he looking for me?”
My heart beats faster.
I’m starting to get nervous right now.
Is he looking for me so he can punish me?
Is it related to Giselle? I heard that he favors Giselle a lot but will he punish me because I embarrassed Giselle?
Fck. Seriously?
Should I run now?
I didn’t notice that I was already sweating, I just realized when something from my face dropped on my hand.
Goodness…
I almost jumped when someone tapped my shoulder.
“Don’t worry, Alpha won’t do something to you, he’s just going to talk to you.”
He said then gave me a little smile.
Really?
When he noticed that I was still hesitant to come with him, he winked at me.
“Trust me.”

You’re still a werewolf!
I wanted to tell him that but I couldn’t, and I couldn’t do anything as he held my arm while we’re escaping from the crowd.
He just let go of me when we reached the back door of the hotel that they’re staying in.
He didn’t say anything until we reached the floor that had guards standing on the door at the end of the hallway.
“Don’t be scared of him, he’s not bad.”
Geronimo whispered to my ear.
That scares me even more…
It’s like I’m walking to my final destination…
Gosh! Why am I thinking like that?
I shouldn’t think like that, nothing’s certain yet, I shouldn’t expect things…
That’ll only worsen everything…
When we reached the door, Geronimo didn’t talk to the guards, it’s like he is really a trustworthy werewolf…
He knocked directly, when we heard someone that told us to come in, Geronimo opened the door and usher me inside.
“Good luck.” He whispered one more time before he pushed me inside.
I was taken aback when I saw Alpha, he is sitting on a carpet in front of me, there’s a table in front of him containing cups and something like a kettle.
I kept my head low, I’ll just wait for him to call for me…
Shit.
I’m getting even more nervous!
“Come.”
My heart skipped a beat when he spoke.
His voice is like thunder filling the room.
I walked slowly until I reached the mini table.
“Do I really have to tell you every time what you’ll do?”
He said with an angry tone.
I panicked as I sat in front of the table unknowingly.
Alpha took out a heavy sigh.
I’m sorry! I don’t really know what to do!
I sat there quietly, with my head still low.
I am just weighing everything at this point. Later on, from my peripheral vision, I saw him take out a cigarette- wait, werewolf can smoke?
Is that possible? But I thought they’re not that advanced?
Maybe I’m wrong…
He didn’t say anything.
I am not sure if he called me here just to see him smoke or what, it’s been a while since I came here but I didn’t get a chance to talk to him yet.
I thought he wanted to talk to me?
Don’t tell me this is his way of talking to me?
I just sat there waiting for him to speak. Thankfully, he is not blowing his smoke in my direction because I tend to cough multiple times when I inhale smoke.
I don’t have asthma, it’s just that I don’t really like cigarettes and their smell.
After a while, Alpha trash his cigarette and paid full attention to me.
I know. I can feel it.
His stare is like a sword that’s pointed at my life.
I’m really scared of him right now…
“You’re illiterate?”
What? I’m not!

He is asking about what I told everyone a while ago?
That I am illiterate because I don’t know how to read?
If that is what he’s talking about then I am so amazed how fast the news spreads.

Will he give me work that needs someone who can read and write, or is he going to fire me because he doesn’t want his maid to be illiterate?
