ARAIA’S P.O.V
“A deal you say?”
Alpha Alejandro met my gaze.
“You heard it.”
I am not sure what to say, I’m quite afraid of what he would offer me…
“May I know more about it, Alpha?”
I asked politely.
Instead of answering me, he picked up a piece of cloth and handed it to me.
What is- oh wait.
I bowed my head and said, “I apologize, but I couldn’t read what’s written…”
“Damnit.”
I pouted my lips, why is he like that?
He’s moody to the next level. Right now, he looks like someone who would swallow me anytime. Gosh. Is it the power of being illiterate?
I waited for what he would say but the door opened instead.
“I greet the Alpha Alejandro.”
Geronimo appears out of nowhere.
Did the Alpha call for him? When?
Don’t tell me werewolves have the ability to use telepathy?
While thinking about whether they can use telepathy or not Alpha Alejandro gives him the cloth that he is holding.
“You teach this to read.”
T-This?
Is he referring to me?
Did he just call me this?!
Geronimo bows his head and says, “Yes, Alpha.”
He then looks at me.
“What?- I mean…”
I panicky looked at them, I couldn’t understand…
“I will teach you to read, Araia.”
Ah- okay…
“Then…I’ll head out now, Alpha Alejandro.”
I bow to him and walk fast towards Geronimo.
Phew!
I couldn’t help but to feel relieved when I’m finally out of his room.
It’s like I’m finally out of a dungeon!
“Don’t fear the Alpha, Araia. He won’t hurt you, he’s not bad.”
Geronimo suddenly said.
Why is he telling me that?
I didn’t respond as I’m still evaluating Alejandro, also, he couldn’t blame me as I saw it with my own two eyes how Alpha killed Orlando.
But, I’m curious as to why he is saying that to me? It’s not even the first time.
“Why do you keep on telling me that Alpha Alejandro isn’t bad?”
If someone keep on telling you the same things twice, isn’t it common that you would get
Too suspicious of that person?
Why is he telling me that in the first place?
I mean, I know that it would help me to not tremble in fear in front of Alpha, but does Geronimo tell those lines to whoever Alpha Alejandro meets?
If that is so, then why didn’t I hear of it when we first met?
Didn’t Alpha Alejandro kill Orlando and his friend in a blink of an eye because they lied to him?
Is that what you called not scary and kind?!
“It’s nothing. Just trust me.”
How could I trust a werewolf? -Is what I want to say but I choose to stay silent.
I follow him quietly, not minding the glares of other werewolves that could possibly pierce my body if looks can kill.
Looks like they’ll bully me more because of this…
Along the way, I saw Giselle and her friends. Her eyes are burning with jealousy. I couldn’t help but to smirk.
See this?
I walk quite fast so I wouldn’t be left behind.
Giselle breathes heavily, she’s like breathing the problems in and not breathing it out. Cool.
Go get the problems of all the werewolves around the world since you like being problematic.
Tsk.
Geronimo leads the way until we reached the lower floor, we were welcomed by two guards in front of the room just like what’s in Alpha’s place.
“Let’s go.”
Geronimo opened the door and let me follow him inside. Shockingly, this place is quite refreshing. Although I’m not expecting it to have the same ambiance as what’s inside the Alpha’s room, this place even exceeds my expectations.
The flow of refreshing air isn’t blocked by the closed windows, the ventilation is amazing.
The room is neat and all the furniture is well placed. Everything inside compliments one another, Wow…
“We’ll do the teachings here, Araia.”
Why do I feel awkward whenever he calls me by my name?
But first of all…
“May I ask why would Alpha waste time teaching someone like me? I mean, I’m just a maid, so…why?”
I’ve been curious since earlier so I’d rather take this opportunity to ask him.
I don’t really get it.
He is the Alpha, the ruler of his pack while I’m just a maid whose existence is unknown. So why would he order someone to teach me?
Unless he has something on his mind…Like, making me his FuBu?
Fuck.
Does being a FuBu have a requirement of being literate?
Wait what?
Why do I sound like I’d accept being his Fuck Buddy? I’m insane! I mean, he’s hot but- No!
“I believe I’m not the one who should talk about it, Araia.”
There’s sympathy on his gaze, this is really suspicious.
“Don’t you have any idea?”
He shook his head.
“Wait, I’d like to ask this, you can tell me if I’m overstepping but does the Alpha likes sex?”
Geronimo looks taken aback by what I said, I thought he would be mad but he laughed instead.
“HAHAHA! You’re funny!”
“Aha-ha-ha…?” What’s so funny?
It took him a few minutes to finally calm himself.
“To answer your question, he’s not. He’s not interested in women in particular.”
For real? Then why is he acting like this?
“Are you sure?”
Geronimo just nodded his head.
Hm…
If that’s the case…
“Don’t you think Alpha Alejandro likes me?”
“…”
“I’m not sure about that, maybe?”
I gasped.
“You just said he’s not interested in women!”
“Well, you asked me!”
My gosh!
I thought he would say ‘of course not’ as I just needed confirmation to erase that thought of him having feelings for me, but Geronimo just complicates things in my head!
“What should I do?”
“You don’t have to do anything, you just follow his orders.”
“Will he kill me if I don’t follow his orders?” It’s not impossible, right? Different people have their different personalities so werewolves may also have those.
I am kind of scared, especially now that there is a chance that the alpha actually likes me.
“No Araia I think you are mistaken, Alpha didn’t kill anyone just because he likes to but because he has a reason to kill them.” He sat on the chair near the window and continued, “I think you are scared of him because you saw him kill those traitors but our Alpha won’t kill anyone for no reason, I am telling you.”
What is he talking about? Who are those traitors that he mentioned? I haven’t encountered any traitors as of now that Alpha Alejandro killed.
“All right, let’s say that he is actually kind but who are those traitors that you are talking about?”
Geronimo tilted his head.
“Those who were with you when we first met.”
I tried so hard to think about who it is when Orlando came to mind.
“But those are not traitors. I know one of them personally and he is not a traitor. I am not sure if the other one is not though.”
“Those two are traitors.” He firmly said, as if telling me not to question him anymore.
“Really? How come?”
When I first met Orlando, he is not the type of someone who gives the traitor vibes instead, he gave this approachable vibes.
You would be comfortable with him even if it’s your first time meeting him. Although I didn’t like him very much the first time we met, I’m sure that he is not a traitor.
Especially that he is the niece of the elder in our village. So how come the niece of elder Baster is a traitor, right?
“Believe it or not.” There’s emphasis on every word.
“Alright.” I don’t want to argue anymore.
“Great! Let’s start?”
I nodded.
**
IT’S BEEN a week and through his stories, I managed to learn about their language and many more.
Geronimo teaches me everything, from their language upto the history of their pack and others. His lessons about history just came smoothly. I didn’t even realize that he was telling me those stories so I will learn history.
Who would have thought that he is a good teacher?
A lot of things happened and I’ve learned enough to be familiar with this place.
“This would be our last day of being a teacher and a student.”
He said then smiled at me afterwards.
“Thank you for sparing some of your time to teach me.” I can’t help but to bow at him.
One thing that I’ve learned, respect is the top priority here in this place. One act of disrespect may lead to your death.
“Don’t mention it! It’s my job.”
Geronimo gave me one last story- about his day- before he let me go.
“Ha…” I’m finally free!
I stretched my arms and raised it as high as I could.
The fresh air is so refreshing! I close my eyes and feel the coldness yet refreshing air around me.
Eversince Geronimo taught me things, I couldn’t get the chance to stay out for too long as he is strict when it comes to time. That’s why I always make sure that I’ll arrive first before him.
Now that I don’t have to go to his study anymore…
Freedom!
I like it!
“Low life.”
“…”
Tsk. Who is it this time?
But instead of facing them, I walked straight, not minding those omegas like me behind.
How can I say that those are omegas? Well, other than omega, there’s no other werewolves who would say such bold things to me.
They’re acting like they’re not low lives, news flash they’re low lives too!
“Hey!” I heard one of them call me but I didn’t turn around.
I don’t care about them, I’ve been experiencing this since then so it’s not new to me anymore. Besides, they’re not doing anything other than bullying me verbally so I’m not scared at them in the slightest.
I spent my day doing chores, it’s a peaceful day- if Giselle and her friends aren’t here.
Like last time, no one talks to me but I’m happy with that. Imagine, I don’t have to blend with them and change myself just to fit with this society, and since they don’t like me too it’s a win-win situation.
When the night came, I went to Geronimo’s study, he gave me permission to enter whenever I wanted and told the guards about it.
He is not here tonight as Alpha Alejandro has business and as his right hand, Geronimo is with him.
I’m free to roam around his study tonight without thinking about Alpha Alejandro.
It’s awkward sometimes whenever Alpha is around, I remember this one time where Geronimo was teaching me when Alpha came.
The two of them were talking but Alpha’s eyes were on me.
When I’m out, I can still feel Alpha’s presence as if he is monitoring me.
It’s scaring me to be honest! But anyways, let’s enjoy tonight.
“Let’s see…What should I read?”
Holding the lamp, I scanned through shelves to find an interesting book when the door opened.
“Oh, I thought you’re busy tonight?” I asked.
I continued searching for a book without looking at the door.
Few more books and something finally caught my attention.
Wait, why is he not answering?
“Hey?” I turned around to face Geronimo but the book that I’m holding fell on the ground the moment I saw who’s in front of me.
“A-Alpha?”
My heart felt like it just skipped a beat.
“I-I greet the Alpha Alejandro.”
I bowed my head.
How could I be that shocked Infront of him?! It’s embarrassing!
“Let’s sit.”
Huh? He’s not leaving?
Why do we have to sit?!
I wanted to ask him but of course I couldn’t , so I just followed him and sat on the chair across from him. I’m so nervous right now!
I mean…Who wouldn’t? It’s dark here and it’s just the two of us!
Why is he even here in the first place? I thought he’s busy?!
“You know how to read?” I flinched.
That scared me!
“Y-yes.”
“Good. Let’s talk about the deal.”
