“So, what have you decided?” he asked while having dinner.
“About?”
“About your decision about what you want to do next? Either you will have to choose to become an Alpha of the silver moon pack or Beta female of the stone moon pack.”
Beta Female
I didn’t want this title.
I knew my nature and choice. Anything less than Alpha was not my thing. I wasn’t someone who could take orders from someone. It was more like I would like to open my own business and be my own boss rather than working under any MNC as someone else as my boss.
“I won’t mind what your answer is as long as you’re telling the truth.”, he added when I didn’t reply to him for a while.
“I want to be an Alpha. I don’t think Beta is my thing.”, I said, on which he raised his brow. “I mean to say that I can’t take orders from someone else. I want to be my own boss.”
“Okay! That’s what you want, but do you think you can handle that position? Because along with powers and positions, there come a lot of responsibilities as well. For example, every poor wants to be rich, but not every poor wants to work hard for it. That’s why I want to tell you all the pros and cons of being both Alpha and the Beta female! I’m sure you would have seen dad how busy he used to be handling all the duties and responsibilities as Alpha, but if you plan to spend all your life a Beta Female, then I will make sure to handle all your work on me, and that can make your life easier and tension free.”
I frowned, hearing his point.
“I’m not lazy, lad, and I’m also not afraid to work.”, I muttered. “Plus, you will be there by my side in this decision, right?” I asked because he couldn’t be the Beta of this pack and Co-Alpha of Silver Moon Pack at the same time. It was not that he was not allowed to handle two positions at the same time. It was just that he would be overloaded with so much work.
“Do you want me to choose you over my family?” he asked. Okay! I didn’t think about it.
What now?
I bit my lip and thought for a while before speaking. “I’m not asking to break all your ties from them. We will be living hardly an hour away from here.”, I replied, not sure I would be able to convince him about it or not.
“I was just kidding.”, he grinned, on which I threw daggers at him with my eyes. “When you left the table after the breakfast, we also discussed this option, and neither my family nor I have any problem with me moving out with you at Silver Moon pack.”

“Obviously, when a woman can leave everything behind to live with her mate, then why can’t a man do the same for his mate? “I’m not hungry anymore.”, I said and started to leave.

I didn’t feel him following me, so I sighed in relief.
‘You shouldn’t have done that, Aleena. He would have felt bad after all. He prepared everything with so much effort. Moreover, why are you mad in the first place? It wasn’t that he was saying anything wrong.’, Leia said when I sat on the bed.
A part of me knew that I was wrong here at this place, but I was just being stubborn to accept it.
After a while, the door of our room opened widely, and taking big steps, Stephen reached near me.
“Come with me!” he said, grabbing my wrist.
“Where?” I asked, but he didn’t answer me. “Stephen”
“Do you trust me?” he asked.
“I … I do.”
“Then come with me without questioning anything.”, he said in a serious tone. I nodded my head and let him take me wherever he wanted to. He opened the co-pilot seat for me, and I hopped inside his car. And the moment I did, I smelt meatballs and spaghetti. I turned my head and saw packed food parcels of meatballs and spaghetti.
By that time, he had grabbed the seat on the pilot seat. I wasn’t a fool to understand where we were going at this moment! Because he had done the same thing when we couldn’t get a chance to eat breakfast. He drives the car toward the human world.
When we spotted homeless people on the street, he stopped the car.
“Go and serve them these parcels.”, he said, pointing to five parcels that were in the backseat.
“I will do that?” I asked in shock.
“Yes! To succeed in your life, you need luck and blessings. Your luck is in your favor but not the blessings. So, go on! Do some good words, and tomorrow is a big day for you.”, he said. I reluctantly agreed and stepped out of the car and grabbed all the parcels.

“Hello, sir!! This is for you.”, I said, forwarding that parcel to an old man.

“Meatballs and spaghetti, but the salt in it are slightly more than usual. And the look of this food is not presentable like the restaurant.” I already warned him so that he wouldn’t start complaining about it already.
“It’s fine, dear. It is still much better than sleeping with an empty stomach. Thank you again. May God bless you.” he gave a warm smile after saying this.
I couldn’t help but smile back at him. He was of my dad’s age. I wondered what could be the reason he was staying on the road.
“If you don’t mind, what are you staying here on the road? I mean, you might get wet in this rainy season?” I asked softly.

“Kids nowadays are so selfish after using their parents as their credit card, they leave their parents to pay the bill of it.”, he complained. “Are you married?” he asked. Before I would have answered him, he started on his own, “Don’t marry a man who will ready to leave his parents for any of the reason because the one who can’t belong to the people who spent all their life for me, can never belong to you.”
Once we gave the parcel to all the first five homeless people, Leia commented. ‘We are lucky that our mate is not a jerk like his son.’,
‘Agree. But we should do something for the people like them. Because in the last two observations, I have seen that most of them are older people. And I have a plan as well.’

I shared my plan with her, and I guess for the first time in her life, she was happy with my planning part. Opening the door of the car, I hopped inside the car and found Stephen using his phone. He quickly locked it, placing on aside before speaking, “Let’s go on an ice cream date now.”, he said, staring at the car.
“Aren’t you mad at me for not leaving the dinner in the middle?”
“Does it matter to you?”
“As…
“Don’t say YES because it would have mattered to you, then you wouldn’t have left the dinner in the middle in the first place.”, he said, cutting me in the middle. He didn’t even hear me, but at the same time, he was right.
I wanted to apologize to him but didn’t know why those three words were too hard for me to speak.
“Even now, you’re feeling guilty and bad for your behavior, but you don’t say it. I guess it’s your habit to regret the things when the time passes.”, he said or taunted. I didn’t know what it was. When I looked around, I found the ice cream parlor beside the place where Stephen had parked his car.

“Which flavor?”

Daniel’s words were ringing in my mind, ‘...if we go by pack members voting, then all the 90% of pack members want Eva as their new Alpha, the rest 10% want some random pack members, which we can ignore for a while, and 0% of pack members want you; as their Alpha.’
“Do you know where my phone is?”
“Yes, it’s in our room.”
“Okay.”
“Something is going on in your mind, isn’t it?” he asked if though I was sure that I didn’t give him any hint. “What is it?” he asked again, but I didn’t answer. “Fine. I will find out about it on my own.”, he said, shrugging his shoulder.
Once we reached the room, he gave me my phone, which was switched off. I put it in charge first and then grabbed my clothes from the wardrobe to take a shower.
After half an hour!!
I walked out of the washroom and, as usual, found Stephen using his phone in my absence. Instead of applying night cream, I checked my phone after switching it on. I ignored other notifications and dialed Noah’s number.
“Hello, Noah! It’s me, Aleena, this side.”
‘Hello, Beta Aleena,’ he greeted, using my title for now. I controlled myself because I didn’t want to snap at him for this.
“Either call me Aleena or get habitual of calling me as your Alpha, whatever you like because from tomorrow morning. I will be the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack, and an announcement about it will be made tomorrow morning.”
‘You … you are taking the position as a new Alpha?’
“Yes! I’m.”, I replied. “You can start making arrangements for tomorrow’s celebration and inform the same news all the pack members. Everyone will be there by eight in the morning.”,
‘But no one wants you as Alpha, and you know that, right?’
“It is not that what they want. It’s about what I want. I’m the one which Alpha blood in my vein, right?”
‘Right. Right.’, Hearing this, I disconnected the call and placed my phone back into charging. Then walked out of the dressing table to apply body lotion and then cream to my face. And then my eyes landed on the perfume to hide the scent which I needed the most. Then I applied herbal lip balm on my lips to keep it into natural color.
“Are you going out?” I heard him asking on. I turned and looked at him in confusion.
“No. Why?”
“The way you’re getting ready. I thought you were leaving somewhere.”, he teased on which I narrowed my eyes. “Instead of spending time in my arms, you are wasting time applying lip balm with I’m going to eat anyway.”
“Dare you use the word EAT. You have left hickey all over my body, and damn to Leia, she is not helping me in healing it to normal skin color. She likes my body with all these hickeys.” I complained about it because those hickeys had started from my neck to my navel. While he just grinned, feeling proud of his art.
At last, I finally walked to the bed, and the moment I did, my mate grabbed me and pulled me into his arms.
