Stephen’s POV

‘Lina will not ditch us, right?’ Thunder asked when I was getting ready for the pack meeting at the Silver Moon Pack.
‘Why are you asking so?’ I asked him after settling my hair. After all, I had to look presentable as I was her mate.
‘Nothing. I’m just worried. What if she kicks us out of her life after becoming an Alpha? We had sent her behind the cell for more than half a day. Remember? Not to forget, she is someone who uses her mind more than her heart. Right now, she is acting all close to us because of the mate bond, and once she gets in power and breaks this bond, then she wouldn’t have any reason to stay with us.’
‘You’re overthinking, Thunder. I know you’re thinking about Daniel’s warning that he had given us yesterday when Lina had left for her room. Then let me tell you that we shouldn’t let other words influence our minds. Trusting her is our decision, proving it is in her hand. Everything will be fine, okay?’
‘Okay.’
‘How do I look?’
‘I’m sure that her eyes won’t leave you.’, he complicated.
‘John, Wade! What is the status of the warriors?’ I mind-linked both of them at the same time.
‘They are ready. All you have to give us a signal when required.’, John answered.
‘Perfect. Does Daniel come to know about anything?’ I asked
‘Not yet. It seems like future Alpha heir is keeping him busy.’, Wade joked.
‘Well, we can’t say anything about it. Today is father’s day, and the fact that his pup is going to play in his arms soon is something that he has never experienced before.’
‘I second that.’, Wade said. After all, he was a father of a toddler.
‘All right, guys. Stay alert and wait for my signal.’, I said before closing the mind link. I walked out of the room after that.
“Mom, Dad, Daniel, Eva, Paige, Aunt, Uncle, Nora, Ryan, guys, we have to leave for the Silver Moon Pack today.”, I reminded everyone through mind link after coming into the living room. After ten minutes, everyone was finally in the living.
“You called all of us here while there’s no sign of sister in law.”, Nora said, glaring at me.
“Hold on! There’s really no sign of sister-in-law in the packhouse.”, Paige said, using her sense.
“And her scent is telling me that it has been a while since she left.”, Daniel said. “Where’s she?” he asked, arching his eyebrow.
“She’s meet us directly at the Silver Moon Pack.”, I replied.
“She sneaked out again?” he asked in surprise.
“Kind of.”, I muttered, shrugging my shoulder. “She has some work.”
“And you let her go?” he asked in disbelief.
“Yes! Neither she’s a kid, nor I’m her nanny. She knows what she is doing.”
“Don’t trust her too much, Stephen, OR you will have to regret it later.”, he warned.
“How much do you know, my mate?” I asked, to which he didn’t reply anything. “Exactly, that’s what I thought. NOTHING. If you don’t know a thing about that, how about you don’t speak a thing about her.” I snapped at him. I didn’t want to say those things to him, but he was saying words for Aleena as if he had known her all his life.
“Both of you,” Mom grabbed our attention. “Stephen, that’s not the way; You should speak with your elder brother.”, Mom scolded me. “And you, Daniel, I know you are worried for your brother, but that doesn’t mean you will keep testing his patience by speaking rubbish about his mate. I know he is your baby brother, but your baby brother is old enough to create a baby…. I mean, he is old enough to handle his mate and his issues. Stop making decisions on his behalf. He will figure out on his own whether he is trusting the wrong person or not, and if you are so interested in poking your nose in life, then get some evidence against Aleena before opening your big mouth.”, She finished shutting the mouths of both the brothers.
“Now, hug each other and apologies to each other.”, She ordered. She might not be the current Luna of the pack, but she was still a mother.
“I’m sorry.”, he apologized, hugging me.
“I’m sorry too” I did the same. I felt him tapping my back.
“I will be the happiest man alive if your trust in her will wins.”, he said in a low tone.
“I know.” I smiled, breaking the hug.

After a while, everyone settled in three SUVs, and two of the SUVs were loaded with our guards. No, not that we had sensed any type of danger or anything, but Eva’s pregnancy had made Daniel a little more protective than before.
‘Where are you?’ I tried to mind link her again because I wasn’t able to contact her either by phone or through the mind link. All I could hear was people crying in pain and begging them to leave her. The last I heard through her mic in the pendant was growling and yelling of wolves, and then SILENCE.
So, I could guess that everything would have sorted well. Because if anything would have happened to me, then my bond would have broken, which didn’t.
‘In your mind.’
‘Thank god, Lina! Do you know how worried we were with the thought that something happened to you?’ I scolded her.
‘Liar. I’m positive that you were not that worried. A part of you knew I could handle it; otherwise, you wouldn’t have let me leave the packhouse in the first place.’, She pointed out the one which I rolled my eyes.
‘By the way, how did it go?’ I asked, thinking about the number of people she killed.
‘I’m not going to tell you in this way. I wasn't to see your expression when I will share this news with you.’, She replied.
‘Sensing your happiness, I believe everything went well.’, I responded.
‘Waiting to see you soon.’, Saying this, she closed the mind link while I sighed in relief, thinking that our mate had already sorted out the problem. There wasn’t anything to worry about.
The moment everyone reached dad’s pack, Thunder did the first thing which she had wanted to do for a long, look for his mate, but unfortunately, she wasn’t here, even her scent was nowhere near the pack.
Where was she?
I could definitely say that she wasn’t here in the last four hours. In short, from the time the effect of her perfume would have gone, she wasn’t here or even before that.
‘Aleena?’
‘Did you reach?’, She asked.
‘Where are you?’ I asked again, gritting my teeth.
‘On the way to the pack, I will be there in a few minutes. Please don’t be mad. Both Leia and I will be in your arms soon.’
At least she noticed that I was pissed.
‘Come soon.’, Saying this. I closed the mind link. I knew others too had sensed that she wasn’t here when I had clearly mentioned to them that she would meet us here directly, but no one dared to raise that topic because a single word from anyone about her not being here would act as a fuel to my anger.
I looked around and saw there was not a single dead body or not any area that looked like a place after the bloodbath.
If everything was fine here, then where was Lina last night?
I had clearly heard the sound of wolves growling, roaring, and howling in pain. Not just that, even the werewolves in human form were begging and pleading to let them go.
Whom did she kill last night, then?

“I believe everyone already knows the reason why we are here!!” Eva started speaking on which all the pack members started screaming.
‘We want you as Alpha, Not Aleena.’
‘She is not kind and warm like you.’
‘She cannot be a good Alpha.’
“Silence!!” Eva yelled, using her Alpha tone, making everyone stop screaming. “I know you’re trusting me as your leader but trust me, as a leader, I know whom I’m supporting.”, She said, on which a lot of pack members gave a disapproving look.
Immediately my nose hit with her fragrance mixed with blood.
No. She wasn’t injured.
It was someone’s else blood.
“So, please welcome your new Alpha.”, She said, and immediately Leia’s figure came into the picture; her paws and fur were covered with someone's blood, and she was coming toward us.
Great. Just great.
Now, everyone would be more scared of her than they were already. She shifted into human form and smiled at everyone. That was a completely different story that no one returned her a smile.
“Hello, Everyone! I know most of you don’t want me as your Alpha, but not everyone gets a chance to get exactly the same thing which they wanted.”, She said with a smile.
A dangerous smile, which was the signal of silence before the storm.
“Well, we will get what we want.”, Someone from the crowd shouted. I looked for the owner of that voice and saw the Gamma of the pack. “We don’t want either of you two as new Alpha. This pack does need a new alpha, but that will be a strong male instead of any female Alpha.”
“Really? And who are the people who think in this way because I can see only you as WE.”, She mocked him, and one by one, more than a hundred and fifty people joined behind him.
Shit!
This was not good!
‘Wade, John! Send all the guards to the Silver Moon Pack, QUICKLY.’ I mind link them.
‘Noted, Beta.’
I wondered whom Lina killed when there were already so many rivals against him.
Seemed like always I had to save her from getting her ass kicked.
“Anyone else who wants to join them can happily join them,” Lina announced. “And those who were loyal to dad and trusted his blood can step away from here.”
Soon the crowd of thousands of people started getting divided into two pieces. More than eight hundred people stood in favor of staying loyal to Alpha Williams, while more than a hundred were against.
Those bastards.
They were biting the hand that fed them.
“Noah! Kill each and every one of them. No one should stay alive.”, She ordered using her Alpha tone.
“Won’t you battle with us and prove to others that you’re worthy of the Alpha position.”, That Gamma taunted.
“I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. They will get to know about my capability on their own.”, She growled.
I stepped ahead to help Noah and her warriors because they were less compared to the number of people against her, but Aleena held my hand. Well, not just me; even Daniel, dad, and uncle did the same.
“Let me help them, Lina!”
“You guys don’t have to ruin your clothes. Trust me; everything is in my hand. Just wait and watch.”, She said confidently. I was about to open my mouth so that she could come out of her overconfident dream, but then my eyes landed on the group of more than a hundred people. Those who were standing at the back in the row were attacking and killing their own people who were against Aleena.
What the hell?
Were they also Aleena’s men?
So, in reality, there were not even an exact hundred people against her?
“You bitch! You already manipulated the warrior of Fire Cross Pack.”, Gamma growled before shifting into the wolves and attacking Aleena. I was about to shift to protect my mate, but my mate was quick to pull out her dagger from her waist and throw it right in the direction of his heart.
And BINGO!
It stabbed right into his heart.
His wolf whimpered in pain and then shifted back to his human form.
“I didn’t manipulate the warrior of Fire Cross Pack.”, Aleena said, clearing his accusation in his last breath.
Exactly! No one could manipulate so many warriors of any pack because wolves were too loyal to their Alpha. Please note that the exception is always there. But if they were really the warriors of the Fire Cross pack, then why were they favoring Lina? Unless, she …. No! No! No! No! She couldn’t choose to become the Luna of Alpha Liam, her fated mate, and Luna of the Fire Cross Pack.
And then she could merge both Silver Moon Pack and Fire Cross Pack as one.
She wouldn’t get a thing if she chose me as her mate.
‘Now, who’s the one overthinking here?’ Thunder asked. ‘We shouldn’t let Daniel’s words get in our mind, okay?’
‘Yes. You’re right. Thanks for reminding me.’, Saying this, I grabbed my mate’s hand tightly. She turned her head toward me and smiled.
“You didn’t hear what I just said to him, did you?”, She asked, on which I looked at the Gamma, who was already dead, and everyone was looking at my mate in Aww, shock and surprised look.
Okay! What did I miss?
“I… I…” I didn’t say anything because lying about this fact was useless. I looked at Daniel, who was giving an expression as if someone had given him the shock of 440 voltage.
“So, ladies and gentlemen!! My sister, Evangeline, has already announced that I will be the new Alpha, but she didn’t mention anything about my mate being my Co-Alpha of both the packs.”
‘Both packs?’
“Along with me, my mate, my husband, Stephen Sam Grint, will also be the Alpha of both the Silver Moon Pack and Fire Cross Pack.”, She said, widening my eyes. “And soon, the Alpha Ceremony will be held, and on the same day, both the packs will be merged officially.”
“Hail to Alpha Aleena! Hail to Alpha Stephen!’, The crowd in human form yelled, while the crowd in wolf form howled happily.
‘What did you do?’ I mind linked her, smiling at the crowd.
‘Simple. I cut the tree, which was the root cause of the problem.’, My head snapped in her direction in shock. I wouldn’t have been surprised if my neck would have broken with the force with which I looked at her. ‘If I would have killed one by one to everyone, then Liam would have kept sending his puppet in my life all the time. That’s why I killed him and became the Alpha of the wolves whom Liam could have used to kill me.”
‘You did that?’
‘Those are the werewolves of Fire Cross Pack.’, She said, pointing toward the wolves at the end. ‘They are not bowing their head in front of me because I have fed them money. They are doing this because I killed their leader brutally in front of everyone by challenging him.’, She said proudly. ‘That’s a different story that I had to kill a few of the warriors to reach near him.’
‘You’re amazing, Lina. I don’t have words to say how proud I am.’ I truly admitted my mistake of doubting her strength even for a while. And I was also feeling guilty for thinking something that stupid, 'Seemed like always I had to save her from getting her ass kicked.' She didn't need anyone as her savior all the time.
‘It’s father's day today. Do you think dad will be proud of me?’
‘Is that even a question?’ I asked, pulling her close to me and kissing her hair. ‘He would have done Zumba if he wouldn’t be here.’
All of a sudden, dad caressed Lina’s hair, making both of us look at him, “You made everyone proud, dear.”
“Thank you, Mr. G…”
“I’m Stephen’s dad. In that way, I don’t think I will be Mr. Grint for you.’, Dad said, cutting her in between.
In no time, our mate left our side and hugged dad. We missed her warmth but never mind if dad could share his mate with me and I could do that same, couldn’t I?’
But our happy moment didn’t last long when Lina broke the hug and yelled loudly.
“VAMPIRES!! Kids, Pregnant ladies, and old people. In the Bunker, NOW.”
And there went our happy moment!
