_Damien’s POV_
I wait for her to explain what she had just said. The only way for her to know what happened that day is if she was there, and the only way she could have been there is if she was the one who drugged me.
“I-I mean, I know you have self control and you won't just sleep with any woman.” She stutters taking a step back.
Her eyes gloss over and I know she's talking to someone through the pack link.
“Father is requesting for me now, he wants to talk to me about something. I have to go.” She smiles and runs off, almost as if she was hiding something.
_Ariana’s POV_
The full moon is already situated in the middle of the sky when I open my eyes.
I stare at the moon through the window next to my bed for a while before my stomach grumbled. Reminding me of why I was awake in the first place.
Food.
But how do I get food in a place I wasn't sure of? Forget about getting the food, how do I even find the kitchen in a house as big as this with over two hundred rooms.
When my stomach growls again and this time louder than it did the first time, I push my feet off the bed and to the floor, walking carefully towards the door.
Slowly, I pull the door open, popping my head out to look at the hallway.
It was empty on both sides. A scene from a horror movie I had watched recently flashes in my head and I shudder. There's no way I would see something scary in this house, right?
The bulb flickers and for a moment it seemed as if something was standing there, staring straight at me, it's red eyes glowing.
In a flash, I had shut the door locking it immediately and leaning against the door, my heart beating wildly.
What in the world was that?
“You're a werewolf and you're scared of a ghost?" Snow asks in my head and I yelped, not expecting to hear her speak.
"Don't scare me please." I hiss, placing my hand above my fast beating chest. I see her roll her eyes in my head.
My stomach growls again and I wrap my arm around it, biting my lips to stop myself from crying out.
I haven't eaten in three days because I was trying to find the children, it's only normal I would be this hungry.
I would have gone to find the kitchen, but I don't want to overstep my boundaries and get kicked out. I need to have my children before I leave.
“Alfred said the kitchen is downstairs to the right. He also said you can eat anything you want, Damien won't mind" Snow tells me and in a flash I'm on my feet, ghost long forgotten. I know Alfred is Damien's wolf.
"How do you even talk to him when we are not mates.” I ask her, slowly opening the door and peeping out.
No creature would stop me from getting food now, what ever that was should prepare to have his ass beaten.
"I have no idea too, Alfred said he would try and look into it. But I don't mind. I like Alfred.” She says and then blocked me from communicating with her. She knows I was about to tell her that Alfred isn't her mate. Damien rejected us, so her forming a bond with Alfred would only hurt her.
I tiptoe down the staircase, wincing when a floorboard creaks beneath me. It would be nice if I had someone to talk to just to distract me and take my mind off how quiet it was here.
I had looked at a wall clock on my way here, and it read 2:15 AM. So everyone should be sleeping by now. Explains why it's quiet because Lucas, Damien's father, had told me that it gets really noisy here.
But if Snow just talked to Alfred, does that mean Damien is awake too?
I shake my head to clear the thoughts, I rather see a ghost than have Damien see me sneaking around his house.
I had successfully found the kitchen without bumping into anyone, going straight for the fridge.
I should just take anything I can find here and eat, cooking would just be messy.
Looking into the fridge, I pondered on what to eat completely oblivious to the door being opened behind me.
“Which of these should I eat?" I wondered, staring into the fridge. I wanted to eat something they wouldn't notice was gone.
I screamed when something cold clamped down on my shoulders, throwing the two food plates I had picked up away.
“Sshh." Came a voice I knew all too well, hushing me.
Damien turned me around, covering my mouth with his hands.
“Do you want to wake the whole house up?" Damien hissed, stopping to listen to know if anyone woke up.
“Why would you sneak up on me that way?” I whispered harshly, pulling his palm hand away from my lips while glaring harshly at him.
“Don't stare at me that way, keep your eyes down." He ordered and I know he used his Alpha tone on me.
Who does he think he is to order me that way? I'm not his mate or his pack member, he can't talk to me that way.
“Don't talk to me that way. You don't own me." Pointing my finger at his face, I keep the glare on mine, meeting his eyes.
“You're just lucky you're not my mate anymore" He says and I fake a smile.
"Oh, I know just how lucky I am. I'm grateful even that I'm not mated to someone like you." I say, both of us staring hard at each other.
I just can't stand him!
