Chapter 14

Axel did not want to go inside the room where Sophie was since he didn't want to disturb her. When the young woman was around, he felt more at ease. Axel got up from his throne and started to walk.

His kingdom was one of the most fortified strongholds, and it provided him with both safety and solitude thanks to the one hundred beta-ranked guards who served him and his people.

Walls and towers that were 10 feet tall were built to protect them even more.

His fortress is painted with a texture that looks like a white cream. Regarding the bricks, they have demonstrated the length of time that this castle has been standing.

The way it appears to some people may cause them to label it as gothic, although it is not in the state that they say it is. A select group of people, primarily students, were extended an invitation to go inside for a tour.

However, their parents discouraged them from doing so out of fear that they would never see their children again.

Axel wants his servants to be more submissive and always aware of when something needs their attention. They are accustomed to the palace's appearance, but they continue to find it fascinating.

It was a big room in which someone or something significant, like the king of the Lycans, resided. Even the largest elephant can walk through every hall and corridor without any difficulty as it makes its way to the palace grounds.

While Axel continued to wait in his thrown that was in front of the door, he began to pace around the room.

Every time the small door on the large door opens, he will go to see who is there, but if it is not a particularly pressing issue, he will tell you to "Tell me about it later" or "Please leave me and bring it to me later."

The tasks and responsibilities were being disregarded as if he had complete control over his heart. Axel was concerned since he had no idea what was keeping Sophie from waking up at this point. It had been quite some time already.

It's about time she got up.

Axel was so certain that he wouldn't be able to forgive himself if anything bad happened to Sophie, especially if she were to save him while he was being harsh to her, that he couldn't keep his thoughts to himself.

He couldn't contain his thoughts because he was so certain that he wouldn't be able to forgive himself.

"Why are they taking such a long time?" Axel moaned as he forcibly placed himself on his stool, startling the maid who was placing the apple juice on the table opposite him.

Axel was like a child stomping his feet because he was unable to sleep any longer.

"Should I go ahead and search for them?" He whispered something to himself while simultaneously shaking his head.

"If I were to leave her in this location, I might put her life in jeopardy once more."

After that, the door opened, and there stood Ranz. Axel pushed himself to his feet as he realized that he was behaving out of guilt and that he was overreacting to the situation.

He couldn't allow the maiden to pass away in such a manner, but he also understood that he was acting out of guilt when he did so.

When Ranz stepped up to Axel and faced him, it was immediately apparent from the expression on his face that he was searching for someone who ought to be among them.

Ranz gave him a friendly smile, and as soon as he reached the location where Axel was, the entrance to the room opened once more.

"Why didn't you open the door when I asked you to?"

"How can we get in?" Ares murmured as he entered the room while carrying the girl in his arms.

When Axel saw the young girl standing in front of him, he couldn't contain his excitement.

This was the only thing that he could think of at the time that may have given him reason to have hope.

Axel was getting anxious since Sophie was still unconscious, which astonished the unconscious girl.

However, when the light of hope flashed onto him, it surprised Sophie.

"What on earth took place?" Axel questioned his troops in a state of terror.

And Ranz simply scratched his nape and apologized to his master, saying, "I'm sorry sir, but the girl is out of consciousness, presumably due to the trauma and fright that she has experienced."

As Axel listened, he saw how badly the girl had been beaten and how her deep wounds weren't healing. He laughed because he saw a little bit of Sophie in this young girl.

"Would you kindly call the doctor and see her as soon as possible?" Axel informed the maid that he was already on his way out the door.

"Yes, your Majesty." Ares and Ranz both lowered their heads as the maid humbly addressed Ares and then followed her.

Both of them came to a complete halt as they processed what they had just seen because it was unexpected.

"What on earth are you doing, my Lord?" Ranz asked Axel.

Axel, who was bowing at them with a smile, showed a lot of respect; yet, Axel couldn't stop himself because of the overwhelming feeling he got when he saw them rescue his final hope. Axel couldn't help but smile.

"I cannot express my gratitude enough, sir."

"Be at ease in the knowledge that in the event of my passing, you will receive some of the glory," Axel said.

And the two were rendered speechless as a result of their shock.

Ares's face became bright crimson, and Ranz was astonished to see that even the maid standing in front of them gave a sly smirk in response.

"Despite the terrible qualities he possesses, he nonetheless possesses a heart of gold. Because of this, many of the servants adored him." Mary, who worked as a maid, mused to herself.

When they arrived at Hellious Tower, he was perplexed as to why the Luna had suddenly shrunk down to such a small size.

He questioned his actions by asking, "Did I do something wrong?"

"This is Luna's youngest sister. You must heal her, as per the request of Lord Axel." Mary said

The fact that the old man's ideas were proven to be incorrect brought him some relief, but it also left him with a sense of disappointment because he believed he would now have something new to do.

The old man started his routine right away and let the girl float, even though her body was covered in deep cuts and bruises.

"Let's begin."

Axel was patiently waiting for Hugo to arrive, whom he had instructed to search for the young girl who had been brought to be treated and then returned to her family.

When this happened, he realized he wasn't nearly as king-like as he thought he was, because the number of emotions he was expressing was beyond the comprehension of his servants, and for some of them, it was the first time they had ever witnessed such an act.

Axel is known for not caring about the people who work for him and being cold to them.

Axel started to pace around, and then the door opened, exposing Hugo. After bowing, Hugo remarked, "I'm sorry for the wait, your lordship." Axel continued to pace around.

"As soon as the tiny child opened her eyes, she started to freak out."

"We are fortunate to have someone in the castle whose parent is deaf, and that person calmed the deaf parent down by talking to her."

Hugo presented a pleasant smile before saying, "Here she is, my lord."

A stunning young woman walked into the room at that moment, and Axel was taken aback by her beauty.

The reason why the small girl's appearance was so strikingly similar to that of Sophie was that she was wearing a white frock that reached just below the knee and had her long, straight hair tied in a half bun.

The second time, he felt a brief flutter in his chest.
