Chapter 69

The Alpha relieved Flora from her duty to attend to Sophie’s needs. He also asked all of the servants, to not bother them, if it was not important. He wanted to focus her attention to Sophie, as he knew the following days will get him occupied again.

Sophie, on the other hand told Monique she won’t be coming as per the Alpha’s request. She did it so Monique won’t conclude it was because she did not want to.

Axel and Sophie depleted the first day like they were like a newly wed couple attending to each other’s needs. All she asked for, he did. And all he desired from her, she gave. They considered every hour count, and made the most of it. Eating together, taking a bath together. Walking around the Palace together… sharing a bed together.

Like they weren’t worried of the war. Like they weren’t in the middle of an important matter.

The second one was nothing different, except Axel allowed Sophie to visit her auntie and sister, Shara. They spent half a day there, to let Sophie be with her precious family, and to get to know more better the important wolves in Sophie’s life, aside from him.

Later that day, as a reward, Sophie gave him what he wanted–– what they both wanted. Like the insatiable lovers they were.

“I can clearly tell from the look on your face that you had a good time with the Alpha.” Flora smiled as she looked on her grace’s face. “You did, didn’t you, My Lady?”

For the past days that she was relieved from her post, Flora did nothing but help the gardener with the plants that Axel bought. Aside that, she only did cooking. Flora felt a little different. Being away from Sophie for a lot of meters made her feel odd at some point. Although they still see each other since they live in the same house, Flora still felt unentertained and new.

She had only manage to ease it by thinking that her grace was having a good time.

They were partners. Axel and Sophie. It was only natural for them to be together. And if the Alpha forbid them to bother them, she cannot do anything but follow. She was only a servant in the first place.

“I did, Flora.”

The window of the transportation they’re using was open, so Sophie could freely put her hand out, feeling the air.

It was nine a.m in the morning. Sophie woke up at eight alone in the bed. She had already foreseen it. She was tired from the Alpha’s nonstop energy the night before that, so she was half sleepless. She only slept for like… four hours. If Flora didn’t knock the door, she’d probably still be sleeping.

“How about your plan to inform him about what you wanted to do?” Smiling, Flora asked.

Flora haven’t catch up to her. When Flora woke her up, she didn’t easily have the opportunity to talk to her, since she took a bath. She fixed herself, and only went out twenty minutes before they left the Palace. She didn’t even finish her breakfast.

Despite being tired from what happened the past two days, her grace looked happy and excited today.

“I told him, Flora.” Sophie turned to her and smile. “He allowed me to.”

The Limoo continued moving. Sophie returned her head towards the window, and even slightly draw her face outside the window to continuously feel the fresh air. Flora watched her closed her eyes, and she was sure she could see warmth in it.

She saw how Sophie’s face was covered with both happiness and contentment. And it was almost impossible how she could feel it in her chest to.

“It’s a relieve, My Lady.”

“Hmm.” Sophie mumbled. “I can now learn more about healing.”

“Did you also tell the Alpha about pursuing the Council?”

“No. No, Flora. He’d get mad at me.”

So, she knew. Flora smiled even wider. “And you’re still going to do it?”

Sophie opened her eyes. “Aren’t you the one who told me I can pursue the elders if I gain knowledge?”

“Yes…” Flora nodded with a chortle. “Yes, My Lady.”

“I couldn’t bring myself to tell Axel about that. He surely won’t allow me.”

Despite the kindness, Flora’s master, Sophie, still had stubbornness and persistence inside her.

She was transparent. A wolf like Sophie was the type to easily perceive. Her grace laughed at the most random jokes. She smiled to any other creature that looked at her. She easily get scared, and when she did, you can see it right through her face. She was the most simplest and cheerful person there was.

She was so genuine that Flora admired how she continued to live like that.

Their conversation ended because Flora set off to contentment. Sophie continued to enjoy herself in the view. She was excited and she could only contain it by drawning her attention to something.

Sophie and Flora arrived at the base around ten a.m. Sophie stopped by to Axel’s den before actually going to the sanatorium. Axel told her not to went straight home after the training hours. Since Axel beforehand told her they’ll be going home together for the last eight days.

“Yesterday, we have discussed the importance of sharpness, control, and speed. I had also explain that just because one was born high-rank, does not automatically mean those three are guaranteed.” Monique started the dicussion with the previous training subject. “What we are going to do hereon, was to let you explore. Choose one from the three which you want to focus on, and I will group you.”

Upon hearing what Ms. Monique said, Sophie knew right away she missed such big lessons.

“Group us? Are you going to separate us, depending on what we choose from the three?” One of the young healers’ asked.

“Yes…” Ms. Monique replied. “And we are going to start on you, Yosephine.”

Ms. Monique referred at the first girl on the first table. Yosephine then chose sharpness. The one next to her was control, and then speed. Their answeres differ to each other that Sophie forgot how many of them took each of the three dynamics.

And whilst Ms. Monique and the young wolves were busy, Sophie thought about what she could do to learn about sharpness, control and speed. Not just that, but the basics. But in order for her not to get caught, she’ll have to drop asking her teach her the basics.

Sophie had already decided she’ll take her time identify whether or not Ms. Monique was someone she can fully trust, so she didn’t want to leave a trace of her being a healer who did not know anything.

Ms. Monique started grouping the wolves. She gathered them infront, and put them in a separate table.

“Now that you’re on your chosen property, I’ll give you an assignment. Each of the group, young healers. And there will be no leaders. All of you will participate, and cooperate. Those who can not follow, can stop right here.” Ms. Monique continued. “To the group who chose sharpness, I’ll send you to the Alpha’s physician. Molding your sharpness is all about knowing what is to heal, and how to. They are the best that could help you.”

Sharpness was all about being attentive. It was knowing what to heal, and how. Sophie made sure to take note of that, before she continued listening,

“To the group who chose control, you will all be assigned to the wolves who are training. They will be your test subjects.”

The control and speed was self-explanatory. Sophie knew as much. The problem was how to do it. Understanding wasn’t the same as actually doing it. So, even though she got the other two properties, she will still need help.

“And the last but not the least, those who chose speed will be under Monroe and Jack’s care. The two of the experienced high-ranked healers, who will also come with you in the battlefield. They are the ones who have master speed. You’ll learn a lot.”

Right now, Monique was basically saying she was going to stop teaching the young wolves. For Sophie, it was an opportunity. Not knowing this was something that Axel ordered Monique.

Monique dismissed the short meeting they had. Unexpecting that this was how things would turn out, Sophie cannot help but feel happy. Now that Ms. Monique’s work got lessen, perhaps they can have more time.

“Ms. Monique, about what you said the last time…” Sophie trailed off. “Can you really help me?”

“Of course.” Monique smiled and approached her. “I’m going to ask you now. In the three fragment of healing power, which one are most interested in?”

“Only one?” Sophie asked, tilting her head.

She was unprepared by the question. She didn’t have time to talk about it, since this was the only day she heard of it. Sharpness, control, and speed. All of them seemed important. But what should she choose?

“At the end of the day, Ms. Sophie. It’s not you who’s going to decide but your ability. The question, and the training that would support it was only an external stimuli..” Ms. Monique explained. “But to answer you question, you may choose more than one. If you can afford to, you can even choose the three of them. But it won’t be as easy as focusing on one.”

Sophie fell silent. She knew she was too early to learn all of those simultaneously. She might end up forcing herself instead of learning it naturally.

“Then, sharpness, Ms. Monique.”
