Chapter 80

Flora made sure her grace, Sophie could eat properly. She did not also leave her side until she took the first dose of syringe Mr. Roce left before he took off. She exactly did what the Alpha told her to do. To assist and attend Sophie, so she will regain her energy.

Afterwards, she went out to contact Hansel, whom the Alpha left behind in case Sophie woke up.

“I assumed the Luna still does not know about her pregnancy?” Hansel asked after he contacted the Alpha to inform him about Sophie’s condition.

Flora nodded, following him as he walked in the courtyard. “Yes, Sir Hansel.”

The Alpha had already informed Flora about Hugo. But for the meantime, whilst he was yet to come, Hansel will fill his position. Which meant that Hansel will temporarily stay in the palace. He will be Sophie’s guard to make sure no danger will befell her.

“Drop the formalities, Flora. You can call me by my name, Hansel.” Hansel casually said without looking back on her.

“W-would that be okay?”

“Of course.”

Hansel is a beta. One of the Alpha’s trusted men, on top of that. So, Flora had high respect for him. Though they were both assigned to do the same job, their level were quite different. So, Flora did not know if she could treat Hansel casually, knowing he was someone deserving of respect.

Regardless, she did not want to be rude.

“Then… I will.” Flora responded with a low tone.

She had never talk to any of the Alpha’s beta before. She was a servant meant to serve and not to socially interact. She had been an attendant for her entire life that she learned to drew line. Between her, and to those whom she could befriend.

The only exception to that was Sophie. Not because she did not respect him. But because she respected her the most. It was contradicting, but it was how she felt towards her relationship with Sophie.

It was real. Like they weren’t master and servant but friends.

“We still have enough time to kill while we wait for the Alpha.” Hansel’s steps halted, before he turned to her. “Why don’t we talk a bit more?”

––

Laughters and joyous remark could be heard inside the conference room located in the base, where the three elders, Axel, and the newly arrived Alpha of the Eastern Border, Edward were in. They were talking about the pleasant news that the Goddess gifted Axel.

Now that the Western Border will soon have an heir, Axel had invited the elders, including Edward, to the biggest party he could ever threw his entire regime. It was to expressed his gratitude, and bliss, after his long wait of wanting a child.

He had never feel this fulfilled and favored.

“What would you do if it’s a girl, Axel?” Edward asked, grinning. “Mine is a boy. What’s your stand about a fixed marriage?”

“Don’t push your luck, Edward.” The Alpha reprimand him with a peeping smile. “I’m letting you in the banquet simply because I want to share the pleasure.”

Edward shook his head, chuckling. “I thought you would miss that one.”

Axel cannot help but let out a laugh. “Let us wait and see then, Edward.”

The Elders, who were just chiming in with the conversation just a while ago went silent as they turned listening to both of the Alpha. It had been long since they saw Axel laugh this genuine. But what topped that was the sight of Edward and Axel casually talking to each other. How Axel could freely respond with Edward’s humorous remark was a therapeutic sight.

“So, when is this banquet going to start?” Ernesto had to ask, smiling.

“At nightfall, Elder.” The Alpha turned to him. “I suggest you to take a rest after this short meeting. Because tonight will be a long night.”

“How about Efraim? Asked Edward.

“I have already informed him. Unfortunately, he’s not going to make it.”

“That’s unlucky. Things would have been more entertaining if he’s here. Efraim is quite a man.” Edward comented. “Don’t you agree?”

“Yes.” Axel raised his brows and nodded. He stood tall, and put his both arms on his waist. “But we can just celebrate again after he arrived. Just it wouldn’t be as big as today’s.”

“Let me know.” Edward stood up from his seat. “My men are coming, Axel. But not only to join the banquet but to bring our presents, as well.”

“You have my gratitude.”

The talk ended shortly after that. Both Axel and Edward left the base to attend to their priorities on the mean time. Axel had received transmission from Hansel, saying Sophie had regained consciousness. So, he went back to the Palace to check his Luna.

He was on his way to deliver the good news to Sophie, after he left the Palace early to prepare for the banquet. He told his men to set on a short journey to buy sake and high quality alcohol. He bought every meat there was in the Capital to make sure his pack and their guests will fully enjoy the celebration.

The venue would be in the Capital. From the center of the Town, to every streets. He even asked those who live in the village just around the Capital to take part in the gathering.

There would be musicians, dancers, and those who have talent for entertainment to liven up the feast. He publicly mentioned in his speech that those who would participate would receive a reward from him. All of that, because he was overjoyed.

He lived for a thousand years. Not once he was blessed to have a child. So, upon hearing from Teresa herself that Sophie was bearing his child, he cannot contain himself.

“Axel…” Sophie softly called his name the moment he entered the lair.

His Luna, Sophie was sitting on the edge of the bed when he stepped inside. Probably, unentertained by the four corners of the room. Sophie had always been a wolf that couldn’t stay in one place. She loved doing things, so she must have been bored.

“How are you feeling?” Axel’s face eveloped with warmth as he trudged closer to his mate.

Mate… That sounded perfect to describe her connection with Sophie.

“I’m great, Axel. Definitely better than yesterday.” Sophie stood up to great him. “So, can you please tell Flora she can let me out now?”

“You need to rest, Sophie.” Axel slighly pulled Sophie into a hug. “You must save your energy for tonight.”

“Tonight? What are we going to do tonight?”

“I’m going to throw a banquet, Sophie. A grand celebration to express our delight in the good news.”
