TYSON’S POV
“I went to the Roxiant today.”
“What the F***! Why did you go there personally? You should have sent me or Zarina. Don’t You know how dangerous that place is? It is the meeting point of the most powerful seers in the world. What if someone decides to put a hex or a spell on you?”
“You both were busy. Someone tipped me off about it and the lead was too good to wait.”
“Tell me at least you found something useful, brother.”
“I must say that the risk was worth it. I have a blueprint of The Dark Lord’s plan now. His plan is divided into phases. Phase one involves kidnapping Tiara.”
“Damn! Is that why you sent Aurora to the sanctuary hastily?”
“Hmm… I plan to keep them safe from this mess.”
“If we don’t let him complete phase one, we could win easily,” Aslan said in a hopeful voice.
“I doubt that, Aslan. He has made extensive preparations for Phase Two. Painite weapons, Huge Space ships, a galore of spells, and whatnot.”
“It would take him years to reach Typhoon with those spaceships. I don’t think we need to worry.”
“We DO need to worry, brother. They are going to teleport all the spaceships here.”
“What the bloody hell? Where will he find all the power needed to teleport spaceships?” Zarina said with a bewildered expression.
“No! No! No… No… F***! No…”
Damn! Where had he adopted this new habit from? It was bloody annoying. “Aslan, stop that immediately and tell us what the matter is,” I said in a firm voice.
“The Heart of Magic! Caleb has the stone. It is the only thing in the world that can give the Dark Lord enough power to teleport spaceships.”
“He is right, brother. This means either Caleb has joined hands with the Dark Lord or he is being controlled by him.”
I had to bite the inside of my cheeks to keep from grinning. It would be so much fun to see the Dark Lord trying to use the fake stone. But, I didn’t want anyone else to know about it, not yet. More is always less in a war.
“They are using a combination of technology and magic to attack us. We must do the same to defend ourselves. Pull out all favors, make offers, negotiate, do everything possible to stay on top of the game. Am I clear!” I said, using the tone that was reserved for Royal Commands.
“Yes, my liege. I will go and arrange for launchers and silver weapons.” Aslan said bowing and left.
“I will go to Earth and forge alliances with witches and seers,” Zarina said and disappeared.
The game was on. I had to go and inform Aurora about the latest developments and convince her to stay in the sanctuary till this was over.
Taking out another locket from my drawer, I put it around my neck. Moments later, I was standing in the sanctuary.
My heart sank when I saw Aurora lying lifelessly on the floor. With shaking hands, I checked her pulse. The faint throbbing indicated that she was alive but had passed out.
I broke a glass and used the sharp edge to slit my wrist. Placing her head on my lap, I made her drink my blood.
Her eyes fluttered open after a few gulps. She looked around in panic and sat up straight. Tears streamed down her cheeks and she said between sobs, “Tiara… my daughter… Tyson… she just vanished…she…. I want my daughter… Tyson… bring her back…”
I felt like someone in the gut. Tiara, my angel was gone. I was so worried about Aurora that I didn’t notice that she was missing.
No! I wouldn’t let anything happen to her… Even if that meant destroying the whole world, I would save her.
I cupped her face and said in a soft yet firm voice, “Aurora, Listen to me, Luv. Tell me exactly what happened.”
“I don’t know Tyson. I teleported with Tiara in my arms but when I reached here, she was not there.”
“Bloody hell! How is this possible? I have never heard of someone vanishing during teleportation. It… it just never happens!”
“I used my magic to search every house in Typhoon but she is nowhere… it is like she vanished…I… I will die if I don’t get my daughter…”
I placed my hand on her lips and shook my head. “We WILL save our daughter, Aurora. But…” I paused for a moment before continuing, “But, I can’t do this alone. You have to stay strong if you want Tiara back.”
She nodded her head and wiped away her tears. “I am ready to turn the world upside down to get my daughter, Tyson. Just tell me what is to be done!”
“I have a vague idea where Tiara could be but we need a plan. Let us go meet Aslan and Zarina.” I said holding her arms.
ASLAN’S POV
“Do you have an idea why Tyson called us back, Zizi?”
Exhaling deeply, she said, “No, but I have a feeling this is not good. I don’t know why but,… my heart is racing like horses…”
I placed my hand on her shoulder and consoled her but the fact was that I was on tenterhooks too. We had been wearing the floor of the room for what seemed like ages when Tyson appeared with Aurora.
One look at their faces and I knew that the problem was catastrophic.
Tyson made Aurora sit on the couch and kneeled in front of her. Holding her hands he said, “Remember, we are in this together. I promise that we all will do our best to find Tiara.”
I felt like a bolt of lightning had struck me… No… Aurora had gone to the sanctuary, how could Tiara go missing?
Zarina and I kneeled on either side of Tyson and grasped his hand for support.
“Apparently, the Dark Lord has completed the first phase of his plan. He kidnapped Tiara while Aurora was teleporting. Any idea how this is possible, Zarina?”
Tyson’s voice sounded firm but I knew a storm was brewing within him. I had always admired his grit in times of adversity.
“Show me your locket, Aurora,” Zarina said stretching her hands.
Aurora’s hands were shaking so much that she couldn’t undo the clasp even after repeated attempts. Tyson sat on the couch and pulled her into his lap.
He took off the locket with a swift jerk and handed it to Zarina. She used her magic to study the locket. A gasp escaped her mouth and she said, “Someone cast a spell on this to teleport the person wearing it and not the others…”
Punching my hand I said, “You shouldn’t have gone to Roxiant alone. How will we find Tiara now!”
Zarina cleared her throat and said, “I know this is crazy but we can try using a locator spell.”
Aurora’s eyes widened and she shook her head, “It works only for short distances… We are talking about millions of miles here. We all will be drained and knocked out. We can’t afford that with a war looming on our heads.”
Tyson grasped her hand and said, “I don’t care if I lose a thousand wars if I can keep my family safe.”
I was stunned by his reply. Tyson had changed so much over the past few months. Tiara was indeed a little angel who spread light wherever she went. We had to save her at all costs.
“Zarina, why do you think this would work?”
“We all are bound to Tiara plus two of us are witches. It is at least worth a try.”
Aurora jumped to her feet and said, “Let’s do this.”
Tyson and I shifted the furniture to clear up space. Zarina spread out a huge map on the floor while Aurora lit up the candles in each corner.
She closed her eyes and concentrate till the candle lit up on its own. I could see the strain on her face. I couldn’t help but wonder out aloud. “Why put in so much effort, if you can just light it up?”
“She is performing a spell for good luck.”
Damn! She was really going all the way to make sure that this worked. Our angel would be with us again soon…
