I was in Christian’s office, trying to cheer him up after Merlin; his ex-wife cheated on him.
He was lost in the deepest depth of misery and gloom and I have been trying to lighten it.
When I can’t support him in his harsh times, then who will?
“Richard, Where are the files I asked about?” His stone-cold voice came, addressing his assistant Henley.
“You are not spending another night here. Go home.”She said, putting the files close to her chest.
“Which home? That mansion is a desolate place now.” He snarled while I watched him, pitying his condition.
“But you can’t run away from that and hide here.” She argued.
Raising my index finger, I gained their attention and turned to Henley.
“No matter how much of a drag Henley is, she is right about it.” I said.
She gasped, “What do you mean a drag? I have never annoyed anyone.” She said firmly, pushing her hairs behind her hairs, smiling.
I chuckled, “Yeah… I am kinda used to it.” It made her frown.
“Hmph… Sir Tyler, talk to Boss, look at him. I am not giving him the file.” She insisted.
“Go, Richard and get it. Don’t piss me.” Christian hissing while rubbing his temples.
“No.”
“Do it!” He raised his voice, making Henley flinch.
“Christian, that’s enough.” I said sternly.
“You go to Henley, no need to get him anything. Take your leave, it’s late.” I smiled. Returning to him with a smile, she left.
After she left, I got up and went to Christian.
“No need for you to take anger out on her. She was right, you can’t hide forever.” I told him.
“Then what am I supposed to do!?” He asked exasperatedly.
I smiled, “Let’s go to the club. I am also free.”
“What? No.”
“Come on dude, You need fresh air. Come with me.”
“I don’t want to go.”
“Why are you destroying yourself for that cheater woman?” I asked.
“You were also devastated after Lydia’s death.” He said, banging his head.
“Hey, we were different. Her fate was decided.” I frowned.
“By you.” He sneered.
“Come on Dude. Besides, you were made for Sophie.” I teased, knowing how much his blood will boil hearing it now.
“Don’t say her name. I have no connections with her.” He scowled.
“I saw her.”
“Hmm so?”
“She is not a child anymore. She has grown into a desirable woman.” I smirked, wanting to see his reaction.
“Don’t tell me.”
“Then come with me.” And against all his anger and resistance, I took him with me to the club.
With much effort I managed to take him with me.
We somehow went there but Christian glued his ass to the chair and refused to do anything other than taking shots after shots of his whiskey.
Sighing I rubbed his back watching him being drunk.
“Dude, I loved her too much, enough to leave Sophie for her and that’s how she returned my love!?” He shouted, gritting his teeth.
“It’s okay… you still have Sophie.” I assured him.
“No! I can’t… hurt her. You know she is fragile. I cannot bind her with me anymore. No one is here to bound me with the promise.” He said firmly.
“I know. I know. Then be like before..” I suggested.
Looking around to find any source for me to have fun while listening to the tale of Christian’s heartbreak.
“I have no connections with that woman!” He declared.
“Yeah, Yeah.”
Soon, he rested his head on the counter, closing his eyes and fell asleep.
Shaking my head I got up and found the main attraction of the club, dancing.
Smirking and sparing a glance at my poor friend, I went to her, wrapping my arms around her waist while pulling her close.
Licking her lips seductively, she wrapped her arms around me. I trusted my charm and kissed her neck leading to a heated makeout session with her.
I spent some great time with her but before we could proceed further she left for the bathroom to throw up. I told her not to drink tequila with vodka.
I was waiting for her outside the restroom, humming while using my phone but then a woman with piercing yet infuriated blue eyes went.
Holding the phone to her ears.
‘Woah, seems like I missed the main attraction.’
My heart skipped a beat when I saw her, time stopped and I was appealed by her, opening my mouth to speak as the moment become awfully slowly.
Entangled in the beat my heart produced I tried to control the sudden urge but it might be endless for me but to her it meant nothing as she went to the restroom, attending the call.
Lost in the unfathomable reality which strike me, I stood still only to be greeted by her voice- no a raging yell.
“I am tired, Rufus! I am freaking jobless, Father’s taunts will never end!”
Raising a brow I peeked and saw her talking to someone over the phone frustratedly.
“And whose fault is this that my graduation is not even completed! You wouldn’t understand, we needed money. I had to do that.” She continued to talk. Intrigued I continued to stare at her,
“No, I am certainly not in a club and drinking. I AM FUCKING HELL, I INTEND TO DRINK POISON, SO WHAT?!” She shouted, pulling her hair.
The pain of her flashing in her exquisite gaze pricked my heart, inducing the desire to obliterate anything which can harm her.
‘Obliviously, my earth began to search for your sky.’
Sighing, she calmed down a bit.
“No, I am not fine. I desperately need a job before Father disowns me too. We don’t have money for my graduation, I need a job.”
I listened to it so closely as if everything depended on it.
Then the girl I was with came but I managed to shrug her off and seemingly in that moment where I was enticed by her to no extent.
Everyone decided to ruin it as Christian came utterly drunk and clinging onto my arm.
“You took me here, take me home.” He whined clearly drunk enough to lose his senses.
“Dude, Wait, I’ve got some work.” I said, not removing my eyes from that girl.
“What work other than girls could arouse here?” He inquired.
‘A love at first sight at an unexpected place.’ I thought.
