Present
With a sharp inhale, I cautiously looked at Candice who listened to everything intensely.
With her beat at abnormal pace with agonizing thoughts wreaking havoc to think about her reaction to know about everything.
Because I could feel the stamp of a stalker is going to be engraved on me.
Hands and feet cold due to stress, wanting to speak something but no words came out in the anticipation of dread.
Gulping down the overflowing apprehension, I scrutinized her form, impatiently waiting for her reaction.
Curling my toes in vexation, losing my senses by each passing second. Get ready to face another upheaval, Tyler.
Mentally preparing myself, I called her slowly, “Candice…”
With a sigh, she looked at me with no expression, “So you have been controlling my every movement all this time.”
“Candice… I ...I…” Letting out a scornful laugh, she shook her head.
“My life Tyler... was never mine.”
“You know what I was?” She hissed, all her jeering faltering and replacing with a scowl as I kept looking down while biting my lips in nervousness.
“A doll whose strings are attached to you and it must be hard for you to control me after our marriage, isn’t it? After all, you couldn’t tame me after it.” She mocked.
“It’s not, Candice.” I tried to talk it out but she threw a pillow at my face.
“Don’t talk to me!” She pouted and got up to leave but I held her wrist.
“Hey! You said you won’t get angry.”
“But I never said, I won’t show any reaction.” She clicked her tongue at me.
“Such stress is not good for your condition.” I said worriedly.
“That’s another thing you can’t control.” She taunted me and left me alone.
“Candice, come on… Can-” I called her, she was about to get out of the room but stopped.
“Wait a minute, why would I leave? Get up.” He motioned me with her index finger to get up.
“Out.” My eyes widened for a second when she told me to leave.
“Cand-”
“Out.” She repeated. With my mouth gaped, I couldn’t speak.
“Candice… I couldn’t help it.” I mumbled, looking down.
“Yeah, you can literally fight the whole world but don't bother to muster courage to start things yourself.” She scoffed, closing her arms at her chest.
“Candice please.” I pleaded.
“Leave.”
“Candice I-”
“I need time to register all this. For now, don’t show me your face.” She said angrily.
Making an almost dolorous face, I opened my mouth to say something but to no avail, no words meant nothing before her fury and she was right in place.
If you come to know what happened is not fate but rather someone’s deliberate intentions, the reaction was not astonishing, anyone would do the same.
Sighing, I left her alone and spent my night in a random room.
Candice POV:-
After knowing everything it took a heavy toll on my heart. I cannot fathom all this time whatever happened in my life; it was all Tyler's plan.
My mind couldn’t believe what just happened. It's too much for me to comprehend. Evoking a strange sensation in my heart.
It’s not that I hate him now or something I only wanted to know, I need time to settle down my raging soul.
I think I understand now why he was so over possessive when I talked about leaving. After doing all this for me.
He couldn’t let me go. But at least I know one thing for sure- his love for me is inexplicable.
I wasn’t betide to love you, it was all you.
But I don’t know why, I am not complaining. I am glad I have him in my life.
The next day, Kathrine was looking at us, feeling the tension in the air, “Guys… you okay?” She asked.
“Hmm.” I passed her a smile while Tyler didn’t dare to raise his head.
We went to our room, he was getting ready to leave for work but I closed the door and leaned on the door.
“How much more time will it take you to leave this world?” I asked rudely.
“I don’t know… I am trying.” He replied sadly, not looking up.
The aura wallowed in sorrow made me forget everything but keeping my emotions at bay, I walked closer.
“Our talk is not done yet.” I said, leaning on the dressing table, looking at him dominantly.
“What else is left? I told you everything.” He replied quickly in a low tone.
“Oh really? Dear Husband, I still know nothing about you. Tell me about yourself.” I muttered, rolling my eyes.
“Candice, I-”
“It’s okay, I won’t judge. Come on.” Collecting his thoughts he began to say,
“As you know we were poor. My Father left us, We were left with nothing. My brother died from starvation. Just to get out of our life of misery…” I whispered.
“I joined the Mafia. I didn’t care about the job as long as I received money. I only had Mother and Kathrine… everything was going fine.” He gulped.
“Lydia was my classmate. We were friends and it soon developed into love… Everything was going fine but…” He took a pause, panting heavily and began to say hurriedly,
“Lydia deceived me, she never loved me, all she did was to gain my information and provide it to someone else. I pretend I know nothing but when my Mother died.” My heart skipped a beat when he said it.
“All because she leaked information about their shelter and got killed by my enemies, I couldn’t take it…” Swallowing hard, he paused again.
“On the day of our marriage I knew she was going to kill me too so I killed her before she did. Yes, It was me who killed her.” My eyes widened when I heard it.
“...I was left with no one except Kahtine. I sent her away too, there was no source for me to get out of this dark world…”
“But then you came into my life and I swear I devoted my everything to you. I am trying to fix everything and live a normal life with you, please believe me.”
He whispered the last part with a tear rolling down his cheek along with an anguished tear glistening with the devastation he went through.
I looked away, curling my hands in a fist while biting my lips, emitting compassion for what he went through.
I took a step closer and put his chest on my head, effusively welcoming my warmth. He wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tightly.
“I love you so much ,Candice, please don’t leave me.”
“I would never.” I whispered, running my hands in his hair, providing him the solace he sought all this time.
I smiled and pulled away, kissing his forehead.
“We will be together… forever.” I whispered.
“We will.” He whispered back before placing his lips upon mine. I closed my eyes, melting into the allure, with nothing that could take the shelter away.
I lost myself entirely in it. My streets are named for him to live in them forever as whenever I face hardship, I will look at him to know nothing could harm me.
He is my life now, his mention never escapes my lips as my breaths have his name. Nothing could go wrong now…

“Where is he!?” I shouted angrily.
Pacing around immersed in endless wrath for Tyler because the time of my delivery is soon and he is nowhere to be found.
Growling I asked Kathrine, “You should have known, he must have told you anything.”
“Calm down, Candice. Stress is not good for your health.” She tried to soothe me but to no avail.
“How can I? He is nowhere to be found for a week. His phone is switched off, I know nothing. What am I supposed to do!?” I yelled, pulling my hair.
“Candice. He must have some work,” She tried to console me but I am not in the mood to listen to anything.
Biting my lips, I sat there with unwanted thoughts stirring my mind, my heart was wrapped in undesirable dread.
Wanting to do or say something but nothing could fix the condition of my heart.
“Madam!” George came, panting heavily with a look of horror lingering on his face.
“W-what?” I asked, frightened.
“Sir.. Sir…”
“What happened to him?” I asked, losing my senses in incomprehensible dread.
My ears weren’t ready to hear his next words, shattering the dream I began to live in. crushing my hopes and the new start in the eternal darkness of the abyss.
Losing everything I began to cherish more than my life, tears of agony reached my core with the ultimate ravage when George told me the heartbreaking news..
“Boss’s plane crashed… There’s nothing left… Neither him… nor anyone…”
‘When I asked permission to have you from God then how can he take you away from me?’
