Blue's POV
She got close to the basket and touched the lids ... About to open it.
I felt weak and troubled about what she said about me before.
I don't understand why I'm the one to always get blamed for things that aren't my fault.
"I still think this is a bad idea!" Mel said tensed and I just folded my hands.
"Just chill" Mona said.
She opened the basket and something that looked like a snake popped it's head out.
"Arrrggghhh!!" Mel screamed and swam close to me.
Mona shut the basket immediately and moved away from the basket.
"Ok... Let's not do that!" She retreated.
"Was there something in the basket apart from that?" Mel asked .
"Well.. I couldn't see" Mona replied.
"You're so easily frightened" I said and she scoffed.
"Since you are now Mrs not frightened .. why don't you come and do this yourself" she retorted.
"I'm here to save Chels and not to get myself killed by some snaky creature.. take note" I replied sharply.
"Guys... Fighting won't help" Mel said and I frowned .
"She should respect the fact that I'm doing this for her," Mona said.
"You don't even respect yourself.. how can I respect you" I snapped.
"You know what.. it's because of this repulsive behavior of yours that people around you tend to suffer... You are bad luck.. first it was Zara and now Chelsea" Mona said in my face and melted.
Am I actually bad luck to everyone around me??.
Why would she say something like that to me??
I just stood there and lowered my gaze to the Sandy ground.
"Why would you say something like that?" I heard Mel ask.
I sat down on a rock and buried my face in my palms.
"I.... I didn't mean to" Mona stuttered in a mild tone.
Mona's POV
Why did I have to say that to her??
Oh no...
I just watched her sit there .....
"Blue... I'm very sorry" I apologized and she raised her head.
"It's okay... You didn't say anything wrong anyway.. Am I not actually bad luck?" She said,
"Blue... You aren't cursed, this place is... The atmosphere of this place changed everyone's attitude" Mel added.
"I'm truly sorry Blue... I don't know what came over me" I said and she smiled.
"It's okay ... The most important thing now is finding Chels" she said and I nodded casually .
"So let's go for the basket again.. but this time.. together" She said and we hugged each other.
We swam to the basket and opened it .... It was a sea snake... Very poisonous!.
"We have to be quick.. that thing is dangerous" Mel stated as the snake swam round the room.
"Wait look inside the basket" Blue instructed and everyone followed.
"There was something wrapped In green leaves... Open it" Mel said.
"What's inside?" Mona asked as Blue unwrapped it.
She opened it and ....
What??..
"A stone?" I said in a question.
"So the missing piece is a stone... This is fascinating" Mel stated.
"Wait!!... Look at the back of the stone... There's something written on it" Blue said and I gasped.
It was written in Perius so she couldn't read it.
"What does it say?" She asked.
I read it and I smiled.
"Friendship!!" I and Mel said simultaneously.
"So the missing piece was friendship," Mel said.
"That makes sense now... Trust one another and never blink" Blue said.
"One wrong move you end up in a casket... That's the bite from that snake" Blue added.
Wait a minute.. Snake!!
"Snake!!" I shouted
"Let's get the hell outta here" Mel said.
" But how?" I asked.
I scanned my eyes through the room and saw an empty hole...
Hmm.. there is supposed to be a brick or something to cover that.
Wait...
"Up there" I said.
We swam towards the space and pushed the stone in there.
It was a perfect match....
"Smart Mona," Blue commented.
"Thanks" I replied..
The walls shook and the third door opened.
" Yeish... That was close" Mel stated..
Third level begins....
The doors shut and now we are almost done..
After this one more riddle...and that's all.
" So let's look for the next riddle" Mel Suggested.
Blue's POV
We searched for the next riddle as we swam to the top and came down...
I don't know why.. but this room looks a little scary...
I turned to the left and gasped.
"Are... Are those real?" I asked and pointed to the things..
Bones??
Human or mer bones??.
"Oh dear God!" Mona exclaimed.
"Those are definitely real," Mona added.
"Does that mean we are gonna die here too?" Mel asked.
"I hope not," I said.
"Just focus on the riddle and find it," Mona said.
I guess that will take over my mind for a while.
" Found it!!" Mel said and we swam to her side.
"Pls read it out this time" I said and rolled my eyes.
"*The goal is to recover the loot,
To rescue it from the hands of a brute,
And if you wish to leave the game,
You must save the item and call out it's name.* " Mona said.
"This sounds like death sentence to me
"Well the last lines are familiar but those two aren't" I added.
"Wait the first one was
*The goal for you are in recited verse,
Return the jewel and lift the curse*" Mel said .
"Yes...so??" Mona asked impatiently.
"Can't you see... It's the same thing , only the words are different " she stated and I hummed.
"The goal is to recover the loot.. that means the loot is Chelsea.
To rescue it from the hands of a brute... Altohan is the brute. Is that what you're trying to say?" Mona asked.
"Well it actually looks similar.. maybe she's right" I added.
"So how do we get out of this level .. at least no that we understand the riddle" Mel asked.
"Let me check the map," Mona said.
"The map has changed.... It says we're already in level 4" she said.
"How's that possible... We haven't pressed any stones nor passed through any door" Mel said.
"But the map can't lie ... Right" I said.
"I think the other riddle was just a trick to test us and I'm not sure those people understood," Mona said and pointed to the bones and skulls we saw.
Oh God... How unfortunate?.
I looked up and saw that everything had actually changed.
"Guys... Look around.. we aren't in the same room as before.. even the bones had disappeared" I said and they gasped.
"There's even a new writing on the wall!!" Mel exclaimed.
"What writing??" I asked.
"The Perius stuff... It's there" Mona said.
"Ok.. then what does it say?" I asked.
"*I fly with no wings,
I cry with no eyes." Mona said and I nodded.
"Continue," I said.
"That's all," she said and looked at us
Huh!!
"What of the backup riddle?" I asked.
"There's no backup riddle?" I asked.
"What does that even mean.. what flies with no wings and cries with no eyes'' I asked.
"This is the final riddle... After this we'll have Chelsea and leave." Mona said.
This is the final riddle and final step in getting back Chelsea.
Final answer is what??
I thought for a while and surprisingly my mind went somewhere..
