CHAPTER 141
AUTHOR'S POV
Zendaya waited for Alexander's response, only for him to tell her, "No", that he was not worried about her.
"Well that was unexpected", Zendaya thought, "So much for getting my hopes up and rushing things, well, that's okay, he doesn't have too," she said to herself, trying to convince herself it did not hurt.
Meanwhile, it stung badly.
"Oh…", she said to me, "that's fine."
Alexander started laughing softly, "Silly, I was kidding, of course I was worried, did you not hear the part when I said finally I can relax?"
"True," Zendaya said and laughed along with him, "Sorry, I just, I don't know, I just."
Alexander laughed more, "It's okay, I understand what you mean. Anyway, are you going to bed soon?"
"Not sure yet, are you?", She asked him back.
"Same answer, maybe we could keep each other company until we both fall asleep or one of us falls asleep?", Alexander offered and Zendaya nodded, forgetting that she was on a call.
"Hello?", Alexander said from the other line.
"Sorry, of course, so tell me Alexander, why don't you have friends?"Zendaya brought up a topic, at least they could talk about a few things before sleeping, "I have noticed you have not said much about friends and stuff like that."
"Mmm how do I explain?", Alexander thought, "okay, my dad moved around a bit, because of the kind of work he does, and I would lose friends because of distance, and you know all that shit, reputation, and other stuff to the extent I just grew tired of making one."
"I'm sorry to hear that, it must be pretty tough to just be moving around," Zendaya said sadly, "Are you guys going to move again?"
"I doubt it, he's getting old," Alexander said, referring to his father, "He is stubborn though, he should retire, but he does not want too, and he finally built a house, the one we live in now, it's ours, so I guess no more jumping from one place to the other."
Alexander paused for a second before continuing, "We decided to build our home here, together, he has not gotten much work and just does random stuff, although I run some business, and all that, in different countries, most of which were run by him before I took over."
"A businessman huh?", Zendaya teased, "Who would have thought a nineteen year old could run a business."
Alexander chuckled, "Well when life throws shit at you, you have to pick up and push through no matter your age grade, you will definitely act older."
"True, I like that," Zendaya said while smiling, "It seems like they were rich and had investment but lived a simple and comfortable life, it showed they were rich and also showed they were not at the same time", Zendaya thought, that was one thing, she had noticed. Not bad, though.
"Thank you," Alexander said, grateful for the fact that Zendaya understood him and flowed very well and freely with him.
"So why me?", Zendaya asked.
"Why you for?"
"Why did you accept to be friends with me?", She repeated the question but this time providing more information on what she meant.
"I won't lie or pretend, I felt drawn to you, and you seemed nice and cool, the more I get to know you, the more I enjoy the decision," He answered, "I have met hardly any people here though, but it did not work out well and trust is very important to me, I don't do well with liars. Just to sum it all up, things have not really worked well with me and new people."
"It's an honor to be your friend", Zendaya muttered.
"Oh stop", Alexander chuckled, "It's an honor to be yours, maybe we could get to know each other more and things would work out."
"Maybe", Zendaya whispered, but Alexander was able to catch on to what she said.
"Are you sleepy?", he asked her.
"A little bit", Zendaya muttered, hearing his voice brought her so much comfort.
She tried forcing her eyes open, but they just kept closing.
She could hear Alexander calling out to her softly from the other end of the line, "Zendaya? Are you there?", after he was done being sure that the sleep had taken her, he finally said, "Good night, sweet dreams."
Zendaya was asleep but not deep enough, it was when she heard him say goodnight that she went deep, surrendering herself to the sleep that called out for her.
MONTANA'S POV
Here we are again the next morning, in the dining room, having breakfast, laughing, talking, some family time together as we ate as usual, just like we have always done.
There was a little surprise for us though when Victoria walked in after being away for a few days, "Good morning my sweet family," she said, coming right up, to give me a peck on the cheeks and smile at the rest.
Oh, how I felt special and smiled, "And where have you been?"
"Well…", she started, and I had already noted the excitement in her tone as a man walked in.
She quickly went to his side and wrapped her arms around his arm, as he smiled and greeted us, "Good morning."
"Family, I want you to meet Quinn, my mate," she announced.
Ohhh My Goodness.
"Okayyyyy", I got up, also excited for her, "gurlllll."
Victoria has been in search of her mate for a long time and even gave up, she went on numerous dates, but nothing ever worked out, she practically almost gave up on love and now this.
I walked up to them and extended my hands, "Nice to meet you, Quinn."
He gave a short bow, "Nice to meet you too, my lady," he said gentlemanly as he shook my hand with a satisfied smile on his face.
After the handshake, Victoria bumped her shoulder with mine, aww she looked so happy, "He is fineeee....the Moon Goddess really… You know…", I wiggled my eyebrows at her.
We never got old of acting this way.
"I know right", she conquered while giggling.
Lincoln had gotten up too, with the rest of my family to welcome him, although Lincoln had other plans as he stood with me and watched Quinn and Victoria.
