Chapter 96: My husband is stupid

What?!" Ming Tao exclaimed, shock written all over his face.

Mira nodded. "Yes, you. If the wife can work, the husband must too." Mira stated. She held a firm face that left no room for argument. This made Ming Tao sigh. He had no choice but to agree, the last thing he wanted was to have an argument with his wife. He would not win and deep down, he never wanted to win an argument with her, even if he could.

There was this strange feeling he bore since he caused her fall that made him go completely soft regarding anything that concerned her and he wanted to keep it that way. It would not give room for an unpleasant accident to happen again.

"Is this because I teased you?" Ming Tao chorused, he had his shoulders sank to show his dismay. "I could have sworn that it was a fun stuff for the two of us." He added. Mira smirked. This skinny cat did not seem to like farming and now that she thought about it, this could be the perfect wat to make him pay for leaving her with the female alternative for blue balls.

"No. The tease was good. You are lucky that I do not touch you all over with my sand stained hands." Mira said. The timer was still counting and Ming Tao was the only cheetah who had not leant to farm, so this was worth a short. There was nowhere on beastworld that she would let herself die before tasting all of her husbands’ dicks. Until she could differentiate each of them with her eyes closed, she would not rest.

[The more time I spend with you, host, the more I am convinced you are the perfect choice of transmigration.]

Why, thank you system, I am honoured, Mira replied in her mind. She returned her attention to Ming Tao. "Follow me." She said to him. "If you do not want to do this with everyone else, then we can do it alone. Together." Mira began to walk forward. Ming Tao followed behind her till they reached an already tilled and prepared soil.

A sack of seeds stayed on the ground beside them along with some farm tools and Mira shook her head in the direction they laid. "Grab some seeds and bring a small bowl of water." she instructed Ming Tao nicely. Mira knelt down and watched him follow her instruction till he met her again. Ming Tao also got on his knees, a lot of seeds were in his hand. Mira giggled. "That is too many. If we play them all in one spot, they will choke themselves out and die." She stated. "Plants need breathing space. They grow roots too and just like our spine holds our bodies together, so does the root to the plants."

"My wife, you seem to be smart but you’re wrong here. It if our feet that holds our bodies together, not the spine." Ming Tao corrected. Mira’s face paled at that. She could not believe what she just and she did not know whether to smack him across the mouth to teach him or just stare at him in awe.

"My husband is stupid." Were the first words to leave her mouth. "My goodness, I thought you had sense before but now I know what is up there in your pretty head is nothing." Mira said.

Ming Tao’s brows furrowed. "You’re the wrong one. Are you perhaps speaking to yourself but using me to instead to hold onto your ego? Because roots are the feet or plants and it supports them to the ground. Our roots are the feet too."

Mira’s face paled even more. She u derstood where he was coming from but all this time he was that clueless?

"Then what is the spine of plants?" Mira asked. Her gaze narrowed to look at him carefully like she wanted to see the words that left his mouth next as well as hear it.

"The stem. Simple." Ming Tao sounded proud of himself.

"Then what about plants that do not have stems? What is their own spine then?" Mira questioned.

Ming Tao paused to think. "All plants have stems, Mira." He shifted closer to her. "Are you okay, darling? You seem forgetful and you are teaching us to plant."

Mira wanted to smack him across the mouth. TWICE!! "Not all plants have stems." Mira stated.

"Let us agree to disagree." Ming Tao said to her.

"There is nothing to disagree about, it is the truth." Mira shook her head. She did not want to continue this conversation with him before he said another brilliant thing that made her question his entire existence.

"You do know you live nearby a forest and can easily see around you the grasses and foliages that clearly do not have stems, right?" Mira asked. For some reason, it baffled her so much and felt unsettling to let the conversation slide.

"Those ones have stems inside the sand." Ming Tao responded.

My husband is stupid, Mira said in her mind. This fact almost made her faint. "And what are the roots then? If the stems are in the sand?" Mira asked.

Ming Tao leaned closer to her like he wanted to tell her something wise. "Those ones have no roots." He whispered. Mira could not hold it any more. She waved her hand up and shot him a smack on his shoulder.

"DO NOT SAY THINGS LIKE THAT!!" Mira yelled. Ming Tao bursted out laughing. He laughed so hard it caught attention of the working cheetahs.

"I’m sorry, it was way too funny to not play along." Ming Tao professed.

So he was joking? Mira asked herself in her head, that had better be a joke.

"Don’t play with me like that. I was about to ask how you ruled an entire clan with peanuts for a brain." Mira sighed. She felt relief instantly to know he was joking because the thought of mini Ming Tao flicking around the clan after what he just said sounded like chaos.

"I make no promises." He said.

Mira rolled her eyes. "Let us go back into farming." She said. Her voice was more relaxed this time. "Everything has already been done. We prepped the soil and took out the weeds. You do know what weeds are, right?" Mira stared at him in the face.

Ming Tao smirked, she was still being cautious over his joke. "Yes, darling, I do." He assured.

"That’s good." Mira uttered. "Come closer to me."

Ming Tao made his way forward. His knees crawled on the loam soil till he knelt opposite her.

"Give me the seeds." Mira said and stretched her hand out for him. Ming Tao let the seeds fall in her open palm. "Not use your hand to open a small hole in the ground for us to plant this seed." Mira said.

Ming Tao dug his hand into the prepared soil and scooped some sand out of the ground to a portion of the soil. "Is that good enough?" Ming Tao asked.

"Yes. That is just fine." She picked a seed out of the many in her hand then handed it to him. "Here. Put this in that hole you dug then conceal the hole again with the scooped out soil. Do not tap the soil after, we want to give this seed the best chance to grow."

Ming Tao took the seed and did as Mira said. "Like this?" He asked.

Mira nodded. "Yes. You’re a natural." She stated.

This made his cheeks redden. "Thanks."

Mira reached for the bowl of water. Dip your hand in and take some water in your palm then sprinkle it all over the place you put the seed in. Do not put too much water or you may wash the seed off the soil and kill it faster. The goal is to use just the right amount of everything each time you provide care for the seed."

Ming Tao formed a bowl with his palm then scooped some water out. Water poured out the back of his palm and he moved his hand all around the ground he planted the seed in.

"That is very good, husband. Now, you have planted your first seed. Now we move to another." Mira said.

Ming Tao’s tail wiggled. He felt nice doing this and now he wondered why he did not partake in this before. "T. . ." Ming Tao swallowed. "Thank you Mira for letting me have this."

Mira looked at him. She noticed his flushed face and his waggling tail. He was happy.

Well done!]

Mira smiled. Ming Tao just loved the little things and it was nice to witness it with him. "Want to plant the next one on your own? I will just watch." Mira asked.

Ming Tao nodded. "Yes, please."

They made their way backwards in careful knee-walking till they had a good distance from the previous plant. Ming Tao did everything all over as Mira told him to and it was a success. His face brightened. "I did it!"

"Yes you did. I owe you a pat when my hands are clean." Mira giggled. Ming Tao’s already red cheeks reddened even more and he nodded.

[Side task completed! Host is no longer at the risk of dying.

Congratulations!]

Wait. . . Mira thought, where is her reward?
