Veronica was stunned. She didn't know why Uriel had been acting like he was by Jaxon's side. She pursed her lips and shook her head in dismay. She only did that because of her plans to find a lead for Morgan. She was only doing it for his son, not to flirt with Veron.
She closed her eyes and tried to tell her wolf about it. It seemed her wolf forgot that Jaxon had done wrong to them, and now her wolf wanted to be on Jaxon's side. She was dissatisfied.
“Uriel, you are acting as if I'm one of the cheap whore that you know. Aside from that, I don't think there is anything wrong if I'm with Veron. He's a nice guy---”
“He's not as nice as you think. He's the son of the Alpha King. He wants to take everything that Jaxon has. Did you forget that Jaxon is your freaking mate?” Uriel didn't let her finish her words. He seemed irritated that she wasn’t listening to what he was saying. Uriel’s lips were in a thin line, he didn’t mind if Veronica would see that he was annoyed by her anymore.
“You’re judging him without even knowing about him. Uriel, did you think that I’m so foolish that I wouldn’t think that you are saying those words to me because Jaxon is your Alpha? You are only telling me that because you are only thinking about your Alpha, not me.” She acted like she was too stubborn and didn’t like to be dictated by someone. She crossed her arms. She wanted to push Uriel’s patience to see if he was one of her allies.
“You are talking to me as if you truly know him. He’s the one who saved me! He’s the one who helped me to know how to defend myself.” Veronica added.
Uriel didn’t say anything but he only inhaled as if he was trying to prevent himself from exposing some information that he might regret in the end. He lowered his head and turned his back to Veronica. He was torn. He wanted to tell her everything that she needed to know because he was so exhausted from acting that he was fine. However, how about his father?
His father was the only family that he had ever had. He didn’t want to lose him, especially since the Alpha King already warned him that he might kill his father if he didn’t obey him.
His hands turned into a fist, and he breathed out again. He was trying to search for an answer about what he might plan in the future.
“It’s up to you if you will not believe me. Veronica, I’m only telling you the truth. Why don’t you go to your room? Alpha Jaxon might be waiting for your explanation.” He whispered. He was about to walk when he paused. “Don’t do something stupid that you might regret in the end. He’s not as innocent as you think. He’s an Alpha because he wants to prove that he’s better than Jaxon. I know that he will use you to hurt Jaxon.”
Uriel didn’t wait for Veronica to respond. He quickly left so Veronica would go to her room to talk with his Alpha. While Veronica was only watching Uriel walk away from her. Seeing how Uriel reacted made her think that it was true, that Uriel had a connection with the Alpha King, Helene, and Veron. But he seemed like he was trying to protect someone.
She sighed when her hands formed into a fist. When she stared at the top part of the packhouse, she saw Jaxon glaring at her with anger. He was upset, and jealousy was more evident to him. She walked to the stairs, and when she was near her room, Jaxon came inside the room.
When Veron kissed her, she was torn. She always told Veron that she wanted him so if she acted that she didn’t like what he did to her, he might think about her intention. She touched the doorknob and twisted it.
When she opened the door, she saw Jaxon standing behind the door. He pulled her and closed the door very fast. He angrily snarled and gave her a murderous glare.
“Is he your other man? Helene said to me that you are having an affair with her brother. I didn’t want to believe in her, especially since you are my mate.” Jaxon started. She was watching his every move before she could hardly breathe again.
What she would do next? She wanted to explain everything that he needed to know about how sure she was that it was Jaxon who would end up with her. She was still thinking about what he did badly to her, which made her think that Jaxon didn’t have the right to know about her plans.
Jaxon was too easily manipulated because he couldn’t remember everything about his past. She was scared that the Alpha King might use Jaxon against her.
“I don’t have any relationship with him. He’s my friend.” She only replied which made Jaxon angrily growl at her. She licked her lips. She later realized that her excuse wasn’t useful at all.
“Friend? Are you fucking kidding me? You are letting your friend taste your delectable lips? It’s mine, Veronica! I don’t like you to be shared with someone! I don’t care if he was your friend because you’re mine.” Jaxon seemed annoyed even more because of what she said to him. He howled and encircled his hands on her waist which made her flinch.
Her eyes widened in surprise when Jaxon looked at her, then on her lips repeatedly. She gasped when Jaxon moved closer before she felt the clothes wiping on her lips.
“His lips have a lot of bacteria. It’s gross. It’s better if you wash your mouth.” He whispered while he kept wiping her lips. She rolled her eyes in disbelief. A smirk plastered on her lips.
“I still remember that you kissed Helene, and fucked her then after that, you kissed me and fucked me, too!” She angrily said that made Jaxon stop what he was doing. He swallowed. He didn’t even know if it was true because he didn’t even know anything.
He wanted to accuse Veronica that she might be lying to him but seeing how devastated she was made him think that it was true. Before Veronica came while he was with Veron, he talked with him.
Veron was questionable that Veronica was with him again. He even mentioned that they were separated, and planning to reject each other before Veronica came back. Veron even mentioned that he and Veronica were dating. He could ask Uriel to make sure since Veron told him to ask him. He was afraid to know the truth.
How stupid his old self for not appreciating Veronica as his only mate. If he could smack his old self, he might hurt him. He knew that he loved Veronica so much when he saw her first. His heart was beating so fast that he almost couldn’t breathe properly. He thought that he had run for several miles and that he couldn’t stop himself from panting.
She captured his soul, and he knew that Veronica had control of his life. He gasped when thinking that Veronica might reject him made him finally nervous. Helene even mentioned that it was her that he loved but he was sure that it was Veronica, only her.
How could he get her pregnant if he didn’t love her?
“You’re lying. You know that I can’t remember everything but why are you telling me that? I know my heart is beating your name. It’s my heart!” He screamed which made Veronica bite her tongue to halt herself from laughing at him. Seeing how devastated Jaxon was made her think that she deserved to have an award.
“It’s too late that you realize that. Jaxon, you are finally happy with Helene. Do you want me to elaborate on what you did with her?” She pursed her lips and acted like she was serious.
“I don’t care about her. It’s you! Argh! I’m mad at you that you let him kiss you. You have dared to kiss your other man while you are in my pack!”
“We were not even your pack when it happened!”
“Seriously, Veronica. Are you fucking kidding me? Does it mean that you are willing to do more things with him if it’s not inside my pack?” He thought that he would be crazy. What made him more upset was he was sure that Veronica was trying to make fun of him.
“That’s not what I mean, don’t you dare try to twist my words. What I’m trying to say is you are overreacting!”
“What did you say?” Jaxon felt that he was only seeing red. He wanted to behead Veron for what he had done with her. His canines were showing when he pulled Veronica’s hair and stared at her lips. “You are mine, Put that in your fucking mind!”
He devoured her mouth which made Veronica expand her eyes in bewilderment. Seeing how Jaxon acted and that he was more dominant made her center moistened in excitement.
