She was nervous while she was walking towards the entrance gate. She was thinking what Jaxon might do to ruin her plan. Veron was such a great help to her in finding Morgan, and she would do everything to finally have the prospect of her investigation.
She was panting when she ran so fast that she couldn't see that Uriel was only walking behind her back. He was shaking his head in disappointment that he had decided to follow her so he could pull Jaxon away from them.
He knew Jaxon, especially since he didn't have memories. Jaxon was too easy to read than the time when he had his memories. He sighed. He knew that Veronica wasn't doing the right thing but he didn't like to stick to her business.
He might loved her. However, it won't change the fact that she was mated with Alpha Jaxon.
“Oh, she's here.” Jaxon pursed his lips when he informed Veron. He arched his brow, and he was about to touch Veronica when Veronica came forward in Veron's direction and pulled him away from him. He was flabbergasted. He didn't know what he would say but his wolf was howling in jealousy because of how Veronica reacted.
He was confused. Veronica wasn't nervous whenever Uriel was around but when Veron was with him, she was worried. His hand turned into a fist. He couldn't understand why he felt that Veronica had a special feeling for the man who visited in his pack.
”Alpha, it's better if you will leave them alone. It seems they need to talk.” He was shocked when Uriel talked behind him. He frowned when Uriel's words finally processed in his mind. He didn't like what he had heard but he didn't have a choice but to give Veronica privacy.
Before he left, he gave Veronica a last glance, and he caught his mate holding the man's hands while she was trying to explain. His lips were in a thin line. Does Veronica have another man aside from him?
”Who is he, Uriel? Is my mate having an affair with another man?” He couldn't stop from asking. His tone was filled with jealousy that he couldn't control his wolf anymore. He hardly breathes to calm himself.
”I wish I knew the answer to your inquiries, Alpha. What I know is he's the one who saved Veronica when she left you. We thought that she was dead.” Uriel finally dared to speak the truth. He didn't want Jaxon to think that he was trying to hide the truth from him.
“What are you talking about? She didn't even tell me that she almost died.”
”You are having an affair with Helene. You are treating Veronica badly while you're having sex with another woman. That night, it was the Alpha King's party when Veronica caught you again. She lost her memories that time but after that, Morgan went missing which made her blame you, and jump to the cliff. Maybe, it's too late when you realize that you love her. We thought that she was dead but we didn't see her corpse that's why after two years, she came back with Veron. I don't know if they have a relationship because it's not part of my work anymore.” Uriel looked away. He wanted to add what happened to Jaxon before he lost his memories but he wasn't sure if Veronica might fall in love with Veron.
Jaxon clenched his jaw. He felt that Veron was such a great rival in Veronica's heart. When he turned around to look, he caught how Veron hugged Veronica intimately which made his heart break in pain.
”I'm sorry. I'm blaming myself for what happened to him.” Veronica whispered. She was letting Veron hug her tightly because she didn't even mind. She hugged him back, and gently caressed his back.
”I thought you wanted us to have a date. Seriously, I'm getting mad at you. I feel that you only played with my feelings.” Veron whispered which made Veronica gulped in remorse. She didn't play with his heart. She only used his weakness to have the lead for Morgan's place.
“Veron, it's not my intention if you feel that way. I'm sorry. We can have our date, today. Do you want?”
”Change the date. I want to be with you for the whole day. If we date today our day is too short to enjoy each other.” Veron muttered and embraced her even more. She closed her eyes and thought that it was Jaxon who had been hugging her. She didn't even see that Veron moved his head slowly, and planted a kiss on her lips.
She was astounded. Her eyes widened in surprise.
“You want some kiss, right? I can kiss you as long as you want me.” Veron twitched his lips and kissed her again. Veronica didn't bother to push him away because she feared that Veron might think that she was true to her feelings for him.
Her heart was thumping too fast. She only hoped that Jaxon wasn't near them because Jaxon might be mad that she was letting him kiss her.
“Speechless? I truly like what's the taste of your lips. It's addicting.” he commented which made her gulped in anxiety. Veron decided to leave in the pack because he had a lot of meetings that he needed to do. He kissed Veronica again before he finally left.
Veronica was walking inside the pack house when she didn't see Jaxon. It was Uriel alone, he was eating while he was reading the papers.
“He sees you kissing him. Veronica, are you playing with two guys? He's in his room, and he's jealous.”
Veronica pouted before she looked away, “I didn't even ask you. I know that his inside his room.”
”Veronica, did you think that Veron is a good guy? You should avoid him. He's not too good for you.” Uriel couldn't stop from commenting.
