Chapter Act

Uriel was stunned when he heard Morgan, the young child speak to him as if he had the right to decide on his own. He looked away when Morgan didn't remove his eyes from him and felt guilty that Morgan heard how his father persuaded him to kill him.

Morgan might be special to understand everything instead of getting scared. When he looked at him, he noticed how Morgan looked like Jaxon. He hated the fact that Morgan was Veronica's child but his love for her made him slowly love Morgan. He might felt betrayed but when he had found out that it was his fault, too, he slowly learned how to accept the truth. What he had wished that Veronica would accept his explanation.

“Aren't you scared that I might kill you? Morgan, you are only a child if you think that everything is easy.” Uriel finally said. He closed his eyes for he thought that he might be foolish to take Morgan's words seriously.

“I know what I'm doing, Uriel. I want you to promise me that once I become an Alpha, your son will be my Beta. I want you to teach him how to do your work. You are capable of everything but you are old.” Morgan twitched his lips. He was expressionless when he uttered those words that made Uriel bewildered.

Uriel didn't know what he would do when he heard how the young child insulted him for being older. He couldn't believe that Morgan had dared to insult him while he was with him.

“Do you want to be like your father? He's the known Alpha of the world pack. He is powerful, and I know for sure that you will become like him.” He whispered, trying to change the topic for he didn't like that Morgan had been acting older than him.

Morgan shook his head. He didn't like to be his father because he didn't like how Jaxon treated his mother. He loved Veronica so much that sometimes he wished that Veronica would escape from his father's pack.

However, he was hesitant to tell Uriel about what he might be thinking. He knew that his mother was dedicated to doing anything for him even though he didn't even ask her to do that.

He loathed Jaxon more when Veronica almost died because of him. He bit his tongue but his eyes were full of resentment.

“My father isn't powerful enough. I want to be more powerful than him. I want my mother to be proud that she finally has a son who will love her. I will surpass my father's connection, and I will do anything to make him see that he's only a tiny nail in my eyes.” Morgan finally had said what he wanted to say. He avoided Uriel's stare to prevent Uriel from seeing what he might be thinking.

“You don't like your father?”

“I wish that you are my father. You will do anything to protect me. He's heartless, and I will make sure that he will regret what he has done with my mother!”

Uriel was speechless. He couldn't believe what he had heard from Morgan. He might be the true Morgan that he knew. He couldn't stop himself from feeling bad for Jaxon that his son hated him more.

“There's a reason why Jaxon is your father. I know what you feel because I'm thinking the same thing. Let's have a deal. I will kidnap you, but I will do anything to protect you.” He muttered which made Morgan give him a severe look. He swallowed when their eyes met, and seeing how serious Morgan was made him think that he was having a deal with Jaxon.

“I want your word and a pledge. A blood compact. Don't think that I trust you but I read that the Alpha needs to be careful, and make sure that no one will betray his trust.” Morgan spoke before he acted that he wanted Uriel to give something to him.

Uriel scratched his forehead. He didn't know what he would give to him because Morgan disliked playing with toys. Morgan groaned and acted like he was an older who was stressed because of him.

“I want you to give me your knife. Did you even know how to do a blood compact? Please, once you finally have your son, I want you to teach him to have common sense.” Morgan added more salt in his heart which made him moan in irritation. He gave him a murderous glare but Morgan only flashed a smirk in his lips.

“Morgan, I'm more older than than you.” Uriel was trying to warn him which made Morgan nod.

He replied, ”Yes, you are older. I'm thankful that you already know about it.”

Uriel was speechless, he was whining when he took his knife and gave it to him with care. Morgan took the knife, and he didn't look scared that he might accidentally wound his skin.

Morgan quickly slashed his palms which made Uriel stand up with worry. He snarled when Uriel acted like he was about to wipe the blood from his small palm. “We need to do the blood compact. Cut your palm, too.” He ordered.

Uriel did what he wanted him to do, and they landed each other's hand. Uriel pledged that he would do anything to save Morgan and he wouldn't betray his trust.

Morgan was stoic when he was with Uriel. They were going to the place where his father had said to him. He would do anything to make the Alpha King believe that he would successfully kill him.

“Are you fine?” Uriel asked Morgan when he finally woke up after he pushed him to the cliff. Morgan coughed, his cheeks were pinkish and he was panting.

“I didn't know that you would push me so fast. You didn't even inform me how I would act.”

“Morgan, you are great. You know how to act that you are scared.”

“Of course, I'm an Alpha. I need to excel in everything.”

Uriel didn't bother to say something for he knew that Morgan would always like that. He let Morgan stay in his private place and asked someone to look for him. He made sure that Morgan needed to have food, and he ensured that no one would notice that he was sustaining someone.

---

“W-What? Morgan told you that it's fine if you will do that. Uriel, are you using your mind? He's a child! He doesn't have the right to permit you to kidnap him.” Jaxon's nostrils almost flared when he heard what Uriel had told him.

He almost lost his mind for he thought that Morgan might be in danger but his son pulled a trick on him. He couldn't believe how Morgan had decided for himself.

“I know but I don't want you to act carelessly. Did you even remember how you acted that time? You are so hard on him that you didn't let him eat when he blamed you for Veronica being in the hospital!”

“He cried so hard that day. He even wished,” He paused because he was hesitant to inform what Morgan might be thinking. When he noticed how Jaxon patiently waiting for him to finish his words, he finally decided to continue, ”He wished that I was his father. You didn't treat him as your child. You didn't even see how he grows up.”

Jaxon's mouth parted. He didn't know what he would say because Uriel was only saying the truth to him. He couldn't believe that Morgan had spoken those words that made his heart broken.

“Once you finally resolve everything. It's better if you will act as his father.” Uriel added that made him realize that he was wrong. He thought that Morgan experienced how to be loved, and he mistakenly thought that Morgan was only hurt when he did that.

His lips trembled as his tears betrayed him and came out from his eyes. He closed his eyes, and let him feel what Morgan might be thinking of him.
