“Are you sure they will be fine? What will happen to them?” Veronica was hesitant. Jaxon didn't want them to go to the pack hospital and let Morgan go with Alpha Gerry. He didn't like to take a risk that someone might get caught or think that Veron had stayed in his pack for so long.
“They will be fine. You don't need to go there because we are avoiding any problems. I don't want someone to catch us.” He answered. Alpha Gerry understood why they couldn't go with them and was thankful Morgan was with him.
Veronica didn't say anything but continued from her walking. She sighed and tried to hide her fear that Solene might die. She realized that Solene was connected with Selene because they were twins, and there was a possibility that Selene might die once Solene died.
“Do you already know it's Uriel—”
“Yes, I am. He's the one who admitted that he's the one who took Morgan away from us. He didn't have a choice but to do it.” Jaxon quickly defended Uriel even though Veronica wasn't saying anything.
Veronica scowled. She understood that Jaxon was trying to explain why Uriel needed to do it. What about her feelings at that time? She swallowed. Maybe she needed to be thankful that Uriel decided to make Morgan alive and hid him to ensure he could still find him.
“Okay.” She only uttered that made Jaxon pursed his lips. Uriel was out of nowhere, and they were the only two walking towards Jaxon's pack. “Where is Uriel? I don't see him.”
“He asked me if he wanted to go back in the pack. You know Helene is there. He had a relationship with Helene.”
“Are you not jealous that Uriel had Helene now?”
“Why would I? You are the one I love. We already forgive each other. Helene tried her best to make me see she had changed, and she's grateful you are helping her.”
“He's your Beta. You must be supposed to get jealous that your Beta stole your lover.”
“You are my lover, Veronica. Stop pushing me to someone I don't like anymore. Okay, I'm stupid. I can't believe that I mistreated you even though I'm sure I want you to be my Luna. Helene is trying her best to act friendly. She suffered in Alpha King's hands. Do you know the Alpha King is using her body to make the other Alpha allied on her? She doesn't have a choice but to let him. He's hurting her physically.”
Veronica couldn't believe what she had heard. She realized that perhaps that was the reason why Veron didn't want to inform her about what happened to Helene. He didn't like her sister to get embarrassed in front of her, and he was trying to save her pride.
“She might be a bitch, but no one deserves to be treated that way, right? Seriously, I'm not jealous whenever they are fucking each other. I was agitated whenever they were loud, especially when sleeping.” Jaxon added. Veronica stopped walking, which made Jaxon pause for a moment. He was confused. He gulped when he saw how beautiful Veronica was when she was wearing his clothes.
“Do you already regret what you have done to me? Do you realize why I'm mad at you?” Veronica hesitated to ask those questions, but she finally let it out. She couldn't remove her sight from Jaxon, who seemed handsome while he was sweating.
Jaxon nodded. “I'm sorry. I'm such an asshole. I'm scared to lose you, but I won't do anything to make you mine again. I mean, I don't respect your choices and use your emotions to make you back on me. I'm sorry if I asked Ava to help me. Don't get mad with your sister.”
“Are you trying to tell me that Ava don't do anything to make you—”
“She wants to help me. She only wants what's best for you—”
“You are so full of yourself. I don't think that's the reason why Ava helped you. She's been trying to push me with another Alpha who is powerful too.”
“Really?” Jaxon tasted the bitterness on his tongue. He would ensure he would interrogate Ava about what Veronica had said to him.
“Yes.” Veronica swallowed. She felt something throbbing in her lower abdomen that made her moan in pain. Jaxon froze. Hearing Veronica groan made him remember how he made love with her.
