“I even blamed your father. I thought he was the reason why you died. I hate him so much.” she added.
“I'm sorry, Mom. I only do it because Uriel doesn't know what to do. Just don't blame him because he was the one who didn't want to do it. I only thought he would return here after a year or months.”
“You are my child. It's better if you will tell us first what you decide. But I know my nagging will be useless because you are fine here.”
Morgan chuckled. Veronica sighed in sorrow. Morgan might be a child, but he had the charisma of Alpha Jaxon. He hoped Morgan wouldn't marry so soon.
Morgan paused for a moment. He almost closed his eyes when he heard a tiny beat. He frowned because he couldn't find it. He became interested because that beat made his blood rush intensely.
“Morgan, are you okay? What are you trying to see?” Veronica was confused when Morgan kept looking around to search for something.
“I'm hearing tiny beats. I'm curious what it is?”
“What do you mean, Morgan?”
Morgan stopped. He looked at her, especially on the part of her neck. His eyes widened when a flash of a baby came into his mind.
He walked closer to her and held her tummy. He looked at Veronica with wonder. “Mom, are you pregnant? I heard a beating coming from here. It's a baby.”
“W- What are you talking about? I don't think I am.”
“Why don't you check yourself? My sibling will not be refined if you don't know about it, then you take some tablets. Finally, I'm not alone anymore!”
Veronica was anxious. She didn't want to hear everything Morgan had said to her, but she knew there might be a chance that Morgan might be telling her the truth. She could get pregnant because she had sex with Jaxon multiple times.
“Morgan, promise me you will not say this to your father until I don't know the truth.”
“But… I don't think Daddy doesn't know about it. He's an Alpha; he knows you're pregnant. He will hear it.”
She swallowed. She needed to make sure that her plans would be perfect, or else she might lose her baby in the end.
“Morgan? Who are you with?”
Veronica turned around, and she noticed a familiar girl who looked like Helene. She blinked her eyes. She was sure that the girl had similar features to Helene, but her eyes were like Uriel's.
“Oh, Selene, what are you doing here?” Morgan didn't bother to answer.
Selene's mouth hung open with pain when she noticed who the woman was with him. She couldn't believe that she would see the woman that Morgan always drew. She swallowed painfully as her tears formed. “I only want to check on you. I don't know if you are with her. Is she your girlfriend?”
Veronica chuckled and shook her head while Morgan's eyes expanded in horror. He couldn't believe how dumb Selene was to think his mother was his girlfriend.
“I can't believe you!” Selene almost screamed but was scared to do something nasty. She swallowed hard before she turned around and ran fast before Morgan was about to stop her.
“Selene, where are you going? I thought we would thank Morgan today!” Solene was surprised when she saw Selene, who was crying while she was running away from where Morgan lived.
She couldn't understand why Selene acted that way, but when Morgan came out of his room with a beautiful woman, she already comprehended.
“Oh, there she is,” Veronica whispered, but Morgan only shook his head.
“Mom, she's Selene's sister. Her name is Solene. She's one of the Alpha's daughters here.” Morgan introduced Solene to Veronica, which made Veronica nod.
“Nice to meet you, Ma'am. I'm sorry if my sister acted that way.” Solene uttered weakly. Veronica laughed; she was so amused to see a twin daughter that she couldn't stop asking how it felt to have two daughters simultaneously.
It might not be easy initially, but she was sure she would enjoy it. She bit her lips. Solene and Selene might have had the same faces, but she already knew their differences.
Seeing how Morgan seemed worried about Solene made her realize that it was Selene whom Morgan wanted. She faked her coughing before she responded. “It's okay. She might think that I'm having a relationship with my son because of the drawings he always did.
“You are right, Ma'am. But my sister is fine. She's a fighter and educated.” Solene didn't want to ruin Selene's image of Veronica.
“Solene, you don't need to tell it to my Mom. I know how good it is to see a woman.” It was Morgan.
“Really? I'm only scared that she might not like Selene for you.” Solene smirked when Morgan widened his eyes in humiliation. They both left and went straight forward into the pack house, where Jaxon was waiting for Veronica.
Solene chuckled while she was talking with Veronica. She couldn't believe that Morgan's mother was stunning. She hoped she could live another year to see what she would look like once she turned eighteen.
“I can't believe my friend has a beautiful pair of parents. It's amazing.” She muttered when she started coughing. She couldn't stop coughing until blood came out of her mouth.
“S-Solene…” Morgan called her name when she collapsed, led Veronica to carry her, and rushed toward the pack house.
“What happened?” Alpha Gerry was worried. He quickly took Solene from Veronica's hands.
“She coughed with blood and collapsed,” Veronica answered, full of worry. She glimpsed at Solene, who had blood in her mouth. Selene ran so fast while she was clutching her chest. She was crying.
“I-I can't breathe,” Selene mumbled before she lost consciousness.
