Veronica stared at the window. It was the month they were investigating what happened to the Alpha King. She sighed when she still did not get any information about what happened. The Alpha King found out that Veron and Helene had been planning something against him, making him hurt Helene once again. It was disturbing and they were doing their best to remove the Alpha King from his position. They even asked others to sign that they wanted to remove the King.
They needed to do everything to prevent him not to going back to his throne. The councils kept investigating what they might give the Alpha King for violating the rules. He had abused his power and he did not mind if he stumble upon someone as long as he would be powerful.
Unfortunately, he took Veron’s pack when she came back to Veron’s pack on the day she asked Ava’s help to look for Morgan. It was heartbreaking to see those innocent people get killed. The King was mad at his son for betraying him again. Helene had been held captive for several days before Jaxon finally did something to help them. They almost lost Helene but now, they were all living in the same pack.
“Is there any news about them?” She asked when she finally saw Jaxon walking in her direction. Helene had been watching them while she was eating with Uriel, while Veron was alone on the couch. She smirked when she noticed how Veron rolled his eyes on her.
“We still can’t find anything. Uriel’s father is missing, too. I heard someone that the two had been arguing. There is a possibility that they might both die.” Jaxon answered, making Veronicas gasped. Uriel had been hoping that his father might be alive but hearing that his father would not make it, she was sure Uriel would be heartbroken.
“It seems your father betrayed him, too,” Veron stated. He gazed in Urie’s direction before he chuckled. He felt bad to lose his father because whatever might happened they were sharing the same blood in their veins. However, what he could not accept was what he had done to his sister!
“I find out my father finds out about Selene and Solene. Alpha Gerry informs us he caught my father talking with them. He lately realized that Solene and Selene are our daughters.” Uriel explained. He sighed when he realized that his father did the right thing and he might be thinking that he was the one who had the opportunity to kill the Alpha King.
But.. he was sure Helene was mourning for losing her father despite his evil attitude. He forced himself to smile. All his life, he had wished that he had a different father because he never experienced how to be treated like a son. He grew up without him and became his toy, which he always used whenever he wanted.
“Yeah, what happened to them? I learned you two finally met them and you two do not bother to tell me about it. I want to see my nieces too!” Veron exclaimed.
Veron was not bitter about losing his pack. What made him grieved was to lose his innocent members because he could not protect them. Albert got killed by the Alpha King when Albert found out what his father's true intention was. He felt bad for his friend, and he had found out that he was mated with Albert’s mate now.
“You do not need to meet them because they want to visit us. Solene is having her rest while Selene is doing anything to study!”
“What about Morgan? I want to see him, too?” Veron realized that he had never seen Morgan ever again. He could still remember what he had looked like. He chuckled when Jaxon gave him a dark gaze as if he was trying to warn him. “Hey! I am only trying to greet him! I am sure he become like her mother who is too responsible!”
“Seriously, Veron?” Jaxon growled in anger. He almost attacked her but Veronica managed to stop him. He moaned and felt even more outrage. Veron always wanted to make fun of him, he was stressed and he did not like it.
“Stop playing like a child. You know we need to find their bodies first if they are truly dead. We need to make sure because there is a possibility that they are still alive! We must assign a lot of troops to search the nearby area when we last saw them. The land is not too big and I am sure we can find their bodies if they are dead.” Veronica was severe when she uttered those words, making Jaxon try his best to stop himself from chuckling. He seemed amused that Veronica had been acting like their leader.
Veronica made sure that she assigned their troops and left some troops in the pack house to make sure that the Alpha King might not bother to attack the pack house. Jaxon was his partner even though he wanted to be assigned to Helene because she wanted to talk with her.
“I think you have secrets on me. I thought we would be honest with each other…” It was Jaxon who broke the silence. Veronica shook her head. She was confused because she might be pregnant and she did not know how she would tell it to Jaxon directly. “I want to remind you that you promised me you would let us get mated, right? Veronica if we find their bodies, I want us to get mated as soon as possible. I am not getting any younger anymore. I want to build my family with you. Morgan is not a little child anymore and I hope we both have the same plans.”
“Jaxon, we are searching for their bodies. We can talk about it later.” she only reasoned out making Jaxon feel annoyed at her. Jaxon grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to him. He had sniffed her scent making her gasped when she felt the electricity coming inside her body.
“I always hear that for a month. You do not want me anymore? I only obey what your father has told me to do! He wants us to get mated first before we will sleep with each other.”
“It’s not my reason, okay? We can talk about it once we find their bodies."
Jaxon frowned but he did not have the strength to fight with her. He noticed how Veronica became moody and feisty. He asked Uriel about it but Uriel only joked that Veronica might have a mood swing or be pregnant with his child.
What he had noticed, too, Veronica seemed aloof to him. She did not want to be want to be alone with him under one roof making him want to ask the pack doctor about her situation.
“Okay…” he only mumbled. He was silent when they searched for Uriel and Alpha King’s bodies until they finally found them. Jaxon had been silent for having a hard-on while Veronica was still mad at him. It was Uriel who investigated what happened that day.
Helene went back to the Alpha King’s castle and took his things so they could burn them with him. She was sad but happy at the same time.
“Why are you avoiding me? Do you even know how you make me annoyed?” It was Jaxon who couldn’t stop himself from interrogating his mate. He paused when Veronica held his hand, and placed it on her tummy. His eyes widened in surprise.
“I am pregnant, that is why I am moody,” Veronica whispered. She paused when she saw how Jaxon tried his best to prevent his tears from falling. “Jaxon…”
“I love you. I want them to see that you are my Luna. Let's get married.”
