Nelson's POV
A deep gnatching pain pierced through my heart, I tightened my lips trying not to let out a loud scream but my guts failed me, I found myself screaming so loud and my eyes flew wide open with sweat trickling down my face.
Panting very heavily, I scanned around the dim room, I could barely see anything other than an almost faded candle light which added more heat to the once running wild through my veins.
"Where am I?" I muttered panting heavily as I tried to catch my breath, my eyes still lurking around the small room.
A strong awful smell quickly grasped my nostrils making it very difficult for me to breathe.
"What is this!" I shouted in disgust, a look of irritation spread across my face.
A soft chuckle startled me, slowly, towards the bed where I laid, a figure began to walk out of the darkness and towards the dim candle light.
I narrowed my gaze as I tried so hard to see who it was and soon it was, I was able to recognize the figure.
"Gesimmi," I muttered, staring at the pack of medicine men in front of Me.
"Alpha" he spoke out with so much softness, the shayp gaze not leaving him at all.
"You look very surprised to see me," he noted, making a noise with his hands.
Slowly, I glanced down at his hands only to discover that he held a tea cup in his hand. The strong awful smell became very obvious that I knew it was coming from nowhere but the cup in his hands.
"Keep that away from me" I ordered looking away.
"I wish I can Alpha but I can't"
"Why?" My forehead squeezed in a frown.
"This is your medicine Alpha, you have to drink it so that you can get well quickly, you bring sick isn't a good sign for your upcoming coronation"
Angered, the look of disgust still not leaving my face, "Hell no! I am doing no such, never!..." I asserted strongly and scanned around me again, "What the hell am I doing here?" I tried to get up but a harsh pain struck my body tightly that I couldn't help but scream out in pain, it felt like an electric current flowed through me.
"You have to relax Alpha, you are not yet fully strong, you have to recover first before you try to get up on your feet" I heard Gesimmi say but I didn't care at all about his words.
"What am I doing here? I need answers, old man! You can't just tell me to lay back here without having any idea how I got here" I fired with so much frustration not caring how my words made the old man feel.
I heard the door of the room open and footsteps draw nearer into the room
"Who is there?" I quickly implored.
"Alpha, it's I Conri"
Relieved, I rolled my eyes, "It's good to have you here"
Conri got closer to where I laid, he glanced at the old man, "It smells horrible in here" I heard Conri noted as he tried to look away.
"I said the same thing when I woke up but Gesimmi is here insisting that this disgusting drink inside of the cup is my medicine, I don't even remember how I got here with so much pain waving through me!"
"I am sorry Alpha, but you have to take it so that you can recover quickly" Gesimmi chipped in very calmly.
"No way!"
Gently, Conri took the cup from him, "You can leave now, the Alpha needs to be left alone with his Beta"
Nodding, Gesimmi walked out of the room leaving I to Conri.
"What's wrong? What happened to me? Even for me to move a limb is just so difficult. I need to know what happened to me and how I got myself into such a mess!" I emphasized not hiding my scared emotion in my Beta.
Carefully, Conri placed the cup on a nearby wooden table and focused his attention on me, a serious look on your face.
"Remember the decision you took by going into the woods alone, well, you were found in the woods lifeless and here you are being treated" he said.
Shocked, I couldn't move at all, I stared at Conri and slowly, the memory of my attack began to flow through my head and it was at that point I was able to detect what happened.
Speechless, I looked away from feeling very ashamed and regretted terribly for not taking my men along with me.
"I made a very bad decision Conri" I muttered facing the ceiling as different unspoken words flew past my head.
"I thought that…" I paused trying to find the right words to say, "I thought that they wouldn't be able to acknowledge my presence but I was foolish to think that they wouldn't. The hunters werewolves are smarter than I thought and now, I regret not listening to you or Tinox advice" guilt filled as I spoke.
"Alpha" I heard Conri say.
"The deed has been done. You don't have to feel sorry. Instead, this is my fault, I should have followed you secretly and should have been there to protect you. I would have even go straight into the woods when it was almost sunset but all thanks to Melissa who found you on time before I did"
I froze at his words, slowly,I averted my gaze at Conri, my eyes widened in shock at the mention of her name.
"Melissa?"
Conri nodded with a smile, "Yes Melissa. Surprised? Well, I was too when I met her already with you in the woods. She saved you Nelson because even if I didn't find you two, I am sure that she must have found a way to bring you back into the pack"
I couldn't believe his words, the whole explanation sounded very unbelievable to me and great dumbness struck me whole.
Melissa
Melissa saved me?
But how?
No female of the royal home is allowed to leave the pack?
What made her leave the pack?
Was she worried about me?
Or was it one of her escape plans to run back to the human world but I was fortunate enough for her to run into Me?
So many questions ran through my mind and the shock that imprisoned me was so hard for me to let go of.
"Nelson" Conri called out to me.
"There is something really special about her. She saved your life just like you did to hers back in the woods, just see it as a payback, a sign to tell you that the moon goddess isn't foolish enough to give you a human as your mate. When I found her with you, she looked so tired and worried, a look of true care towards you because she thought you were dead. She must have passed through so much stress because just half way back to the pack, she passed out looking very drained" he took some steps closer to me, a serious expression on his face.
"It's high time you see the value and potential Melissa has because I feel that there is something great about that girl, something we are both yet to see and I don't doubt Tinox words when he noted that there is a burning fire inside of her. It's high time you appreciate her presence in your life. If not, you might have ended up food for the birds of the air" he noted sternly with so much vigor in his voice.
