Nelson's POV
"That was so good," Viviana muttered with a chuckle.
I nodded without saying a word. Our sexual feeling had always been good but not withstanding how good this was, I felt that indeed something was off, something just doesn't seem right.
"I need to go" I got out of bed quickly putting on my pants.
A look of surprise and confusion appeared on her face, "Won't you spend the night with me?" She asked, watching me intensively.
I glanced at her but immediately, the face of Melissa flashed through my mind. At that point, I couldn't deny the urge of seeing her that held me imprisoned.
"I need to do something at the office"
Viviana got out of bed Stark naked, "Then I will get dressed and stay with you at the office"
Not pleased by that, I shook my head in disagreement.
"No Viviana, you don't have to"
"Why?" She asked with a frown on her face.
"You just can't , it's late and you need to rest. Moreover, Conri will be there with me and I am sure that you won't be comfortable with him being there with us" I pointed out as I picked up my cloak and placed it on me.
Viviana rolled her eyes clearly unpleased, "Honestly, I don't mind being with you at night but it will be fun having you spend the night with me again. Why can't everything you have to do in the office wait till morning?" She grumbled very unhappy with my decision.
"I wish I could Viviana but I just can't. I have to get to this because I have some deals I have to pass across to other alphas who aren't our rivals. Remember what happened to be back at the crossroads, the hunters will do anything to get back at me so I must be ready at all cost whenever they might choose to attack. I must not give them a chance this time around and they have to pay for what they did to me" anger flowed through my veins as the pain I passed through that fateful day flashed through me.
Viviana picked up the blanket, she wrapped it around her naked body and walked closer to me.
"Don't worry, as soon as you are crowned Alpha, everything will fall into place, I assure you this' ' her lips stretched into a smile as she stared at me so intensely.
"Alright" I noted a strange feeling subduing me, "Anyway, I have to leave now" I announced heading towards the door.
"Nelson"
I started to wonder what she had to say this time around.
"My regards to Melissa, I think it will be best if we become friends and not look like we are fighting over a man"
Shocked to my bones, I let go of the door knob, my narrowed eyes not leaving Viviana and I couldn't believe what she just said.
"You want to be friends with her?" I raised a brow, finding it difficult to acknowledge that this indeed proceeded out of her mouth.
Viviana shrugged her shoulders with a smile, "Of course, why can't we? After all, it was never her fault she ended here, she isn't even happy living here in the pack and with much consideration, I realize it's meaningless hating on her when it's obvious that she did nothing wrong to me. She is not the moon goddess who made this decision into drifting us apart. So, I don't think it's a bad idea or what do you think about it?" She smiled, making me more super shocked.
At first, I couldn't find words to say. It was unbelievable, clearly shocking. Minutes ago, Viviana was super curious hearing that I and Melissa will have to plan to be in love just for my crown as the Alpha and here she is talking about being friends with her. It sounded super out of her character and I wonder if it's truly Viviana saying this.
"I can't believe this Viviana, what has come over you? Where is this sudden change coming from?" I asked, still watching her.
She smiled, "Maturity…I guess. Listen Nelson, we are no longer kids. I just see this as being nice, nothing else"
Completely still shocked and speechless, I nodded. "Alright, if you say so" I turned the door knob around and the door opened slightly.
"My regards to her," I heard Viviana say. I looked at her, nodded and walked out of the room closing the door behind me.
What just happened?!
I asked myself as soon as I was alone. The hallway was so quiet and I am sure that Melissa must be asleep by this time.

No way!
She just can't make this decision out of the moon, clearly, there is something behind this new change of her that she isn't saying out to anyone and the more her statement on being friends with Melissa rang through my head, I just couldn't wonder why.
She is up to something.
"Yes, she is Nelson" Phoenix suddenly spoke out.
"That crazy bitch of yours is really up to something, don't believe those smiles on her face, man" he chipped in embodying me with deeper confusion.
I couldn't help but think in the same direction.
"Maybe she is but what if she is just saying this out of a clear conscience? Viviana might be very possessive towards me but I know her too well, she can't hurt a fly" I affirmed.
"Yes I know but I don't mean that whatever she has on her mind might include harming Melissa. You should know better, this new friendship of hers is very fishy and moreover, I think it's time you stop having sex with her"
I came to a halt at Phoenix words.
"Why?"
"Come on man!, can't you see? I have lost deep interest in her shallow body. She isn't the mate made for us, she isn't our mate! Right now, Melissa is the one I yearn for, wherever you are around her, it's so obvious that I need you to grasp her in your arms and make good love to her, not Viviana! I am tired of that girl's slutty ways. Sex with her is great, I understand that but that's for your human self Nelson and not me. I need my mate, I need to connect with her and the sooner you work on this, the better for us"
"So you want me to stop mating with Viviana?" I asked to walk further.
"Yes Nelson! Yes! You should be with Melissa and not that redhead. Melissa is your mate and it's best you use this pretend scheme of yours to get closer to her for real. She is way too beautiful and I just can't help myself but long for her so deeply"
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps alerted me, I gazed up and to my surprise, walking towards me were Melissa and Conri who stood side by side to each other laughing happily.
