He didn't like the way I talked about his friend and it just happened that I don't give a damn. Am I supposed to pretend like what they did to my mate never happened just because he's my dad's friend? I don't think so. Seeing the tension between us, my Uncle hurriedly stands and walks up to me...
"Thor, calm down man, c'mon! I understand your anger but now is not the time to get angry, especially not with House Howell. Your mate is still their daughter, remember!?
Please don't allow your emotions to divert your attention from what's more important, which is, how we will find and connect with the chosen ones of the other two houses. That's what we should be worried about right now because our time is limited!"
'I'm not angry with House Howell, I'm angry with Alpha Nate!'
I want to shout out the difference for him to understand but I keep my cool. He's right about one thing, I can't allow my emotions to divert my attention from what's important.
Even though I'm still very angry, I reply to my Uncle with a single word, 'Okay' and return to my seat. My Dad also returns to his seat without another glance in my direction.
Eric clears his throat and speaks then...
"I agreed with what Uncle Elias said that this is the time we should be thinking about how to find and connect with the chosen ones of the other houses but despite that, Thor has every right to be angry because of what they did to his mate, and those responsible for treating her unjustly must, by all means, be severely punished!
We cannot and we'll never allow them to get away with what they did to our Luna, otherwise, they will think the Alpha of Silver-moon pack is one to be trifled with...
Just that, Thor, your anger is directed at the wrong person." He says, looking in my direction.
"Wrong person? How?..." I ask, raising my brow in question. "Night Howler's pack belongs to Nate and as the Alpha, isn't he responsible for everyone living and working in his pack?"
He nods
"Yes, he is but you don't expect him to personally take care of everything by himself, do you? Pack duties are delegated to ranked officials and elders of the pack, remember?" He says softly
I nod. Maybe I was too angry to be rational
"So, I guess you know the person in charge then?" I ask and he nods
"You know when you asked me to make the trial appointment with Alpha Nate?..."
"Yes? What about it?"
"We got talking and I asked about Miranda before our conversation drifted to Ash. It was during our talk about Ash that he told me his Beta is the one in charge of the domestic aspect of his pack"
By the time Eric finished narrating the discussion he had with Alpha Nate and we connected the dots and puzzles, I was shocked by the lengths these individuals went to make sure my mate and I never met with each other and to also make sure Alpha Nate hates the Omega he didn't realize was his daughter.
I chuckle dryly
"It's obvious they're scared of us but I don't understand, why didn't they kill her then when she was a baby when they had the opportunity? Why keep her alive all these years only to end up failing? I don't believe they kept her alive just because they want to see her suffer?'' I said to no one in particular and the seer replied to me
"I also don't know their reason. They attempted to kill you before, even though they failed. Why wait with her? I'm not sure but maybe they waited because they weren't sure if she was the chosen one of House Howell.
I mean who's to say her mom won't have other kids who could have been the chosen ones right? I wasn't able to see you as the chosen one myself until you mated with her and..." He suddenly stops talking to scratch his head.
"I'm not sure, did what I said even make sense?" He asks, then stops talking, cocking his head aside wonderingly.
'Maybe he's getting a vision?' I thought to myself. All eyes are on him as we all wait patiently for him to regain himself and tell us what he sees in his vision.
He chuckles but there's no trace of amusement on his face.
"I'm just beginning to understand what they're trying to do..." He says after a while
'Oh, he's not having a vision?' I thought
"What do you think they're trying to do?" My dad prompts impatiently after a while that he's been staring into space.
"I think they couldn't kill Sif because they're scared of her wolf..."
"You think!?..." My dad asks, the sarcastic undertone in his voice couldn't be mistaken.
"You think they're scared of her wolf?... A wolf is a wolf, why would they be scared of her own!?... Thor's wolf is the biggest I've ever seen in my life yet they aren't scared of his wolf when they attempt to kill him... I don't understand, Leif. Can you please explain to us what is special about Ash's wolf!?"
It's obvious from my dad's tone of voice how impatient he is with the way the seer is taking his sweet time in explaining things.
"A wolf is not a wolf Dad. Ash's wolf is different. She's very special. She's a King." I say before the seer becomes dramatic about his reply as I know he will.
"A King!? What do you mean by 'she's a King!?'" He asks, looking at me in confusion.
I sigh
I can't believe my dad is asking such a question. It's not as if I said it in a foreign language so how can he not know what I'm talking about? He's an elder for crying out loud! Didn't he know those our kind referred to as The Wolf King!?
My eyes meet Eric's who has an awestruck expression on his face. Even my Uncle stares back at me with his mouth half open in surprise.
The seer is smiling in satisfaction, enjoying the drama like I thought he would while the rest of the people had confused expressions on their faces like my dad.
I'm Alpha and I've always loved the kind of friendly relationship I shared with my men. I'm happy that we're still friends and I'm not treated differently even though they now know I'm original and the chosen one of House War-Cloud. I don't want them to look at me like someone they revere and couldn't freely relate with.
I was afraid that would happen if they knew my mate's wolf was even more special than mine. The kind of friendly relationship I have with my men is what I wished for my mate to also have with them but looking at the expression on my Uncle's and Eric's faces alone is enough to tell me my wish is not about to be granted.
"Well!?..." My dad prompts impatiently again when he sees the look on Eric and my two Uncles' faces.
"She's a Lycan." I finally tell him
