My dad looked so shocked he couldn't complete the word, Lycan. I find his behavior so funny I laugh. I just hope he won't get that starstruck when he finally meets her.
I was surprised the first time the seer told me how powerful my mate was likely to be. Apart from the pictures of what Lycans look like in their wolf form that I've seen in history books, I have never met one. According to history, only one Lycan is born in every century.
Lycans are called The Wolf King not because they are actual kings that rule over the rest of us but because they're created better than the rest of us in every way.
While the rest of us walk on all fours when we transform into our wolf form, Lycans walk like humans and while the rest of us behave like the animal that we are in our wolf form and can only communicate through the mind link, Lycans can talk and still retain their intelligence and human personalities.
They're more agile, stronger, and faster. It's even said that they're faster than a fast-moving car and can scale sheer surfaces, having been seen to use their claws and strength to crawl along walls at great speed. They also possess enhanced senses of smell, hearing, and sight that are superior to the rest of us.
Vampires hate werewolves but Lycans are their nightmare and unlike other werewolves, they cannot be killed by vampires' venom and they also don't get affected by silver. As strong as they are, the only one that a Lycan can submit to or has the power to calm their rage is their one true mate.
"And I thought we tell each other everything," Eric says, looking ridiculous as he pouts with his bottom lip pushed forward.
I chuckle
"See that look on Pops face is what I'm trying to avoid. I'm not sure she would want to see you guys treat her differently. I don't want that to happen myself."
"Yeah, I get you but damn man! Not treating her differently is going to be difficult! She's a Lycan! I remember when she took on Miranda and her friends in her human form without breaking a sweat. She would have killed them if you hadn't calmed her, do you remember what happened that day, Thor?" Eric says in excitement.
"No, I don't! I've locked away all memories about her, remember?" I say regretfully
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry! I totally got carried away knowing about Ash, I wasn't thinking straight when I asked that question."
I chuckle
"I understand, don't worry about it."
"You don't have to worry about regaining your memory. I know an ancient witch who will help you get it back. You will meet her sometime in the future." The seer says and I look toward him
"Why don't you just tell me where to find her now so I can go look for her myself?"
"I'm sorry I can't do that. A lot of things still have to be done and in place, before you cross paths with her again." He replies and looks away from me to smile brightly at Eric.
'What's the matter with him?' Eric asks through our mind link, raising a questioning brow at the seer.
"What do you mean by cross path again? Have I met her before? And why are you smiling at Eric when you're talking to me?" I ask with irritation, wondering what an ancient witch is supposed to look like. Going by the name, I'm not sure if I've met anyone that looks ancient before
"Give it a rest Thor, stop asking already! You know I'll only tell you the things you need to know and nothing else..."
"But that's bullshit!" I burst out with frustration. "You're beginning to abuse your power, seer!... What if you die tomorrow!? What then!? You want my memory to remain lost forever!?"
He just smiles like he has nothing to worry about. He doesn't seem to understand how frustrating it is when you're made to wait for something you're in urgent need of.
"Maybe I should just kill you and put an end to all these frustrating waiting once and for all!" I say grudgingly, making everyone laugh.
"Believe me, Thor, I'm not dying anytime soon. At least, not before your own seer is ready..." He casually drops another interesting revelation and swiftly changes the topic,
"So, as I was saying..."
"You mean I'm going to have my own seer? Who is it going to be?" I eagerly ask, interrupting him mid-sentence. Seers are like rare precious gifts from the Moon goddess and few Alphas have the privilege of being assisted by one.
He exhales loudly, rolling his eyes like he's already tired of my constant questions.
"Yes, Thor! You're going to have your own seer. As for who it's going to be, I'm sorry I can't tell you yet. I just pity the poor man because I know you're going to be one hell of an impatient Alpha to work with. Unless you stop trying to run faster than your shadow!" He firmly says, putting an end to the conversation
'Coffin-dodger!' Eric says through our mind link making me chuckle under my breath.
"Coffin-dodger, huh?" He asks with a raised brow.
My eyes widen with surprise
"What? You read minds now?" Eric asks with surprise
"You both deserve each other. Good luck making each other miserable." He says smiling smugly in my direction before finally changing the subject.
"Now moving forward...
I think, since they failed at killing Thor and also couldn't kill Sif, they're aiming to set the Houses against each...
Sif is angry with Thor because of the baby they lost.
Thor is angry with his father for not siding with him against Nate.
Knox is angry with his son for disrespecting his friend
Thor currently hates his mate's parents for being careless and clueless about what his people did to his mate...
And believe me, both House Irvin and House Thunder-hawk are also not finding things easy. Just like House War-Cloud and House Howell, it has been a long arduous journey for them. I just hope we all can love each other and stay united because, without love and unity, there's no way we're going to win this war against House Denton.
Do you understand me, Thor? Eric?... I'm talking to all of you youngsters now..." He says, looking at our faces one after the other
"Are the chosen ones of House Irvin and Thunder-hawk also going to be a mated pair like my mate and I?" I ask
"I don't know. I only see everything and anyone who has or will have a deep connection with House War-Cloud. I have a prophecy for you though. More like a warning..."
"Oh, What is it?"
"Do not hold on to what is not yours. Especially what belongs to another Alpha..." He says seriously.
"What belongs to another Alpha?" I repeat, questioningly looking towards Eric. I wonder if he has any idea about what the seer is talking about.
Eric shakes his head to my silent question. I can see from his expression that he also has no idea about what belongs to another Alpha that I'm supposed to be holding on to.
I direct my gaze back to the seer
"I have no idea what you're talking about, seer. I have never held on to what is not mine and I'll make sure I don't, now that you've called my attention to it."
He chuckles dryly
"Have I ever told you something that turns out to be a lie, Thor?" He asks as we both look at each other.
There's no need for me to answer that question since everyone in the room knows the answer to that question.
"Why don't you take your time to think about it? you might have forgotten but I'm sure it will come to you if you take some minutes alone to think deeply about it." My dad says and I nod
"It might not be now..." The seer says. "It might be sometime in the future. Just don't forget. You cannot hold on to what is not yours. Especially what belongs to another Alpha."
"I will have it in mind and do exactly as you've said, seer. Be rest assured."
"I'm glad, and you should know that I agree with you punishing the people that treat your Luna unjustly, but I want you to listen to me carefully...
Whatever you do, avoid by all means any decision that you know might bring war to your pack, and remember, do not hold on to what is not yours. Especially what belongs to another Alpha. Do not hold on to it no matter what the situation may be, Thor! Prevention is better than cure!"
