Thor's POV
'How could I ever think I like this girl enough to accept her as my concubine?' I thought with irritation after I knocked on my bedroom door and she opened it with what looked like a smug smile on her face.
Seeing her smile, I know the bitch is happy to be having a party in my room. I never knew Ash was serious when she asked Ella if she had the bitch's phone number until she told me, Victoria is still her friend regardless of what happened.'
I watched with surprise as she pulled Ella along with her before turning to Eric in disbelief.
"It's okay if she wants a slumber party but why invite Victoria? How can she still consider her a friend when she knows what happened between us? Any other woman would want to stay away and not have anything to do with the woman who has a history with her man. Why is she doing this!?"
Eric sighed before replying,
"Really, Thor!? Are you really going to complain about this? It's just one slumber party and you won't be seeing Victoria anyway since you're not invited to the party so why make a fuss? Let her have fun with her friends and be thankful that today didn't end up as we thought."
Yes, I should be thankful that today didn't end up as a disaster as I had thought. I grudgingly agreed with Eric as I followed my mate to our room where she cheerfully told me to pick everything I would be needing for the night and find another room to spend the night in.
My annoyance with the bitch returns when I knocked on my door and she opened it like she owns the place.
"What the fuck is this? Why the fuck are you opening my door!? What about Ella? Where's my mate?" I snap at her. How dare she make me feel like a visitor in my own house!?
Instead of answering my question, she rolls her eyes disrespectfully and forcefully shuts the door in my face.
I am angry. How dare she close my door in my face! Who the fuck does she think she is!? I fume as I stand by the door, waiting for Ash to come out.
The moment the door opens again, I put a smile on my face so she doesn't suspect I'm still hating on her newfound friend
"Hey, babe I..."
"Sorry to disturb your fun, I..." We both talk at the same time.
She smiles then and comes out of the room, shutting the door behind her
"I left my phone on the bedside drawer. I forgot to take it with me when you kicked me out. Could you please get it for me?" I say and immediately regret my choice of words. How can I be acting petty at my age? It's embarrassing!
"But I didn't kick you out c'mon! The party is only for this night. I didn't know it was you at the door. I thought it was the kitchen staff delivering the snacks we ordered..."
"Yeah, it's fine, just.."
"No, it's not fine..." She says and takes my hand before leading me to a chair. "I'm sorry babe. I can see you're really upset about Victoria being here. Uhm, I know you believe because I've only known her for a short period that I don't know her enough to be friends with her but believe me, Thor, even though I've not known her for long, I can categorically tell you that she's a good person with a good heart.
You know, while in prison, I had severe morning sickness that made me throw up everything I took, including water. Victoria showed me other ways I can take water that I won't find repulsive. She cooked me meals I found easier to stomach. Meals that normally taste bland but she happily ate them with me. She took care of me, babe.
And really, it's not like she betrayed your trust by trusting someone she just met with your private conversations. She just needed my advice because she was confused. She told me she didn't have feelings for you, she just proposed to be your concubine to spite her mother. Childish, I know...
Then she got mated to the most despicable man. She was confused and needed my advice. She wanted to know if she wouldn't be committing a grave mistake if she rejected him and became a concubine instead.
I advised her to pick you instead of her rogue mate. I would rather be a concubine myself than be mated to a rogue that killed my people."
"Oh..."
"Yes... So you see, she's not a bad person, she was just in a dilemma. She did what every girl her age would do, ask for advice. Please don't hate her anymore. Please..."
For real, I know Victoria is not a bad person. I'm just furious at the fact that my mate had a shock and miscarried because she shared a damaging secret with her.
Since Ash doesn't hold what happened against me and goes out of her way to explain Victoria's reason for doing what she did, I don't see any reason for me to continue to stay angry.
"Thor?"
I don't realize I'm lost in my thoughts until she calls my attention.
"It's okay, babe," I say and nod at her. "I'm sorry I misunderstood." I smile reassuringly at her.
"Awww, thank you, baby." She says, bouncing on her seat in excitement.
I laugh.
"Let me get your phone for you. Be right back." She says as she stands up.
After I collect my phone, I return to my office where Eric, my dad, and both of my Uncles are still waiting for me.
We were having a meeting when I realized I left my phone in the room.
My dad thought, immediately Ash and I settled our differences, we should go to Night Howlers pack to inform her parents about her but I was against it. I wanted us to wait until morning before but seeing how happy she is right now, I'm seriously having doubts about telling them about her immediately.
Now I think we should give it about a week. I think I should talk to her first about them since I'm not sure how she will react to the news. I don't want anything that will upset her too soon after today's episodes
The moment I open the door my dad speaks
"I thought you were just going to get your phone. What kept you? It's almost nine. We should start going and not waste any more time." He says as I walk to sit behind my desk.
"Pops, I want us to wait..."
"Wait? But why? Didn't we already agree before you went in to get your phone?" He interrupts me mid-sentence
"We were deliberating on it, Pops, I haven't agreed yet, okay? Anyway, I think we should wait for about a week to..."
"A week? Why?..." Eric asks, frowning in disagreement. "I think we should get it over with so we can focus on locating the rest of the chosen ones."
"Well, I understand the urgency to locate the rest of the chosen ones. I just want us to consider the mental state of my mate. I mean, I feel the news of the Alpha and Luna of the pack that maltreated her for years turning out to be her real parents might be upsetting and too much for her to handle considering everything that has happened today."
Eric nods
"I feel you man but I think today has shown us that Ash is not some spineless doll that can't handle her mental and emotional state.
Aside from that, she's the wolf king, man! A Lycan or have you forgotten that fact."
"No, I haven't forgotten who she is, Eric, which is, my mate! Right now, my concern is for her before anything or anyone else. Her well-being matters a lot to me before anything else!" I say firmly and he throws his hands up in resignation. I'm a little disappointed in him because I feel he should understand me more than anyone else in the room.
"What!?... After all she's been through, you all can't just expect me to spring them on her! I have to inform her about them first and obviously, right now is not the time to do that! What am I supposed to do, call her out of the slumber party to tell her!?"
Thick silence follows after I make my stand known to them until the seer breaks the silence
"I understand your concern, Thor but they're right. We don't have much time. Even though I don't agree with informing her parents about her tonight, I believe waiting for one week is too long. No other day is more perfect than tomorrow to let both parents and daughter know about each other."
