Chapter 87

Calhoun opened his eyes to find himself in an empty bed. No wonder he couldn't enjoy the rest of his sleep. He sighed and rolled off his bed. He stood up and walked into his bathroom. As he opened the door, he found Diana carefully trying to undress the little boy. So this was why they left.

"Diana?" He called. "Hm, I was wondering where you had left to."

"I'm not lost, you don't have to bother," Diana replied firmly.

Calhoun paused. Did he annoy her somehow? "How did you sleep?"

"Fine," Diana answered. She wasn't concerned with how he slept too?

He scratched his head. "Okay. Are you bathing the baby?"

"Obviously."

"Um, can I join?" He asked carefully.

"Don't you have something to do this morning, Calhoun? You should go and see Felix and Evander. I'm sure they have a lot to tell you." Diana said, facing him.

Calhoun chuckled. "I have this feeling that you're mad at me for a reason."

"Mmhmm."

"Are you?" He asked.

"I don't know, Calhoun. Should I?"

"Should you...what?"

"Should I be mad at you?" She asked.

Calhoun stroked his chin as if he was in thought. "maybe you should."

Diana glared at him and he wondered what he had done wrong. Was she expecting him to say she should not be and at him? It was clearly obvious that she was mad at him, why then would he say she should not? If she was mad at him it meant he had done something that angered her.

"Yes, you may go now. Worry not, I shall prepare your bath water for when you finish your meeting."

Calhoun chortled. "Look at you."

"What do you mean by Calhoun, leave."

"It's my chamber, you can not send me out." Calhoun refused.

"Alright, we shall leave then." She said, raising the boy.

Calhoun watched her get to the door and try to open it. He allowed her to pull it severally before finally coming to her aid.

"Diana, this door will not allow you to leave while you are mad at me." He explained. "It's best if you return and bath our child in our bathroom."

"Our bathroom?" Diana reiterated. "You clearly just said it was your chamber."

"Yes, the king's chamber. But what is a king without his queen?" Calhoun asked with a smug smile dancing across his lips. He grabbed Diana by the waist and pulled her into his chest. "I understand that I have somehow managed to offend you and I am sorry for whatever it is I have done."

"Diana, I want us to work this thing out. I don't want to rule Wisteria if you're not going to rule with me."

Diana chuckled. "Nice try. You just want to get into my pants."

"That too," Calhoun admitted. "But in my defence, no one else can do it but me. So why bother to avoid something I know has been reserved for only me?"

"Idiot." She cursed. "Allow me to bathe my son in peace!" She demanded.

"Our son and there is peace in the land, we have defeated Eugene remember."

Diana was dumbstruck. What kind of a person was he? She thought he had changed from his ways of misinterpreting people's words for the sake of his pleasure but clearly, she was wrong.

"Calhoun!"

"Yes, darling..."

"You shameless man-"

"How can I be shameful? You have seen me all, everything I have. What's there to be ashamed of?"

Diana was flustered, her cheeks turned red. She hurried back into the bathroom. She dipped her hand in the water.

"Great! Now the water has turned cold." She muttered.

"You can just reheat it," Calhoun suggested. "You know?"

Diana rolled her eyes. "Gee, thanks for that awesome insight. I thought I would have to put a stove beneath the bath."

"Hm, that's not a bad idea. I would have seconded it too but I can pick up the sarcasm in your voice."

Diana glared. "Calhoun, allow me to be, please."

"Diana, I want us to bathe together with our son. If you agree, I will do whatever you ask today."

"Just today?" Diana asked.

Calhoun nodded.

"Not for the week?"

"Oh, sorry darling. But if you want me to obey your command, you have to accept to sleep in my bed at night and bathe with me in the morning. Then I'll be at your command all day." Calhoun said.

Diana was dumbstruck. What sort of thinking is this? How can he imagine that she would readily accept to practically sleep with him just so that she could control him?

"Calhoun, you think that the world revolves around you, huh?" She asked. She dipped her hand in the water to see if it had become hot enough. Calhoun hated to bathe in hot water.

"Alright, come and have a dip."

The man smirked in victory. "I knew you loved me-"

"Don't push it, Calhoun." Diana interrupted. "You haven't proven to me that you're any different from before. Until then, you are just the father of my child and nothing more to me."

Calhoun sighed. "Diana, tell me what I have to do to prove my love for you. I thought that all the letters I sent through Maggie would state a fact but it didn't."

He pulled off his trousers and shirt and slipped into the bath, shamelessly. Diana stared at his body but would occasionally take her eyes off it since she didn't want to be caught staring.

"Ma...ma." Coco giggled as he was being dropped into the water. Calhoun smiled a warm and genuine smile.

"He can speak already?" He asked. Diana saw the smile on his face and her heart smiled as well. The boy splashed around in the water, making giggling sounds. Diana held him out to Calhoun and he readily grabbed the boy.

Coco stared at his father, his expression was blank. Calhoun stopped smiling and the boy did too.

"Why's he not smiling again?" Calhoun asked. Coco opened his mouth severally, trying to imitate Calhoun.

"You have to smile at him, first," Diana said as she took off the trousers which she wore. Since Calhoun was focused on Coco, she decided to undress and soak in the bath before he had the chance to stare at her body. Calhoun's bath was like a small pool that could fit seven people all at once. He liked it since it gave him the freedom to soak for as long as he wants.

Calhoun smiled at Coco and the boy smiled back. As Calhoun's smile increased, the boy began to giggle loudly, splashing around in the water.

"Seems he loves being in the water," Calhoun commented. Diana turned and smiled at them. Calhoun's gaze shifted to Diana and he got lost. Seeing the water dripping down her shoulder and back, made him feel as if he should have her right there.

"Diana, do you want to kill me?" He whispered.

"You asked me to join in the bath, what is all this talk about killing you?"

Calhoun snorted. "Can you see how hot you look?"

"It's the water, don't be deceived." Diana waved it off. Deep down she was excited that Calhoun still found her attractive. It showed that she hadn't lost her charm. But she wasn't going to let him know that, she was going to act as if it meant nothing to her.

"Diana..." He whined. "Come closer."

"The water would get cold soon, let's wash him and we can leave before it gets too chilly," Diana said, reaching out to grab Coco.

Calhoun moved the boy away from her, he moved around in the bath, playing with Coco. The little boy laughed all through, he enjoyed his time with his father.

Diana watched the father-son duo play around in the water, splashing it everywhere. Calhoun noticed her stare from the corner of his eyes and an idea came into his mind. He moved Coco towards her and began splashing water on her. Coco soon took the hint and splashed water as well.

Diana found it annoyingly amusing. She liked that they bonded so easily, but she didn't like that Coco wasn't giving Calhoun a little attitude.

"Come on, my boy!" Calhoun cheered on. "Splash more water on Mama!"

Coco giggled even louder and splashed all the more. Diana soon got too interested and began splashing back at them. She soon began to giggle alongside her son and they soon teamed up.

"Come on, let's splash Daddy back." She suggested. The little boy paused and turned to stare at Calhoun.

"Don't tell me you'd support her, you're my boy. Remember?" Calhoun tried to bribe. "I'll make you king..."

Coco giggled aloud. He turned to Diana and splashed some water around. Diana took the sponge and washed his body softly. The boy became quiet in Calhoun's arms. Calhoun held him while Diana washed him. Once she was done, Calhoun rinsed off the soap on his body.

"Wash me too, Diana," Calhoun asked nicely. Diana glanced at him. She lathered more soap on the sponge and Calhoun felt like she wasn't going to do it, but to his surprise, she walked around him and began scrubbing from his back. Calhoun chuckled. The depth in his voice caused a vibration that spread through his body and Diana felt it.

After washing him completely, Calhoun handed the baby to her and he rinsed himself. He stretched his hand and picked up the sponge and soap.

"Turn around and let me wash you." He suggested.

"No, it's fine if you don't want to. You can just take the baby out and dress him up for me." Diana said.

Calhoun remained in the same position. "Turn around, Diana. I'm not repaying the favour."

Diana was equally as stubborn as he was and she wasn't moving.

"Diana, we can spend all day here while you catch some cold and then I would take more care of you. And you get to see my annoying ass more times a day than you would have. And there would be nothing you can do about it since you're ill."

Diana chuckled. "I see you've planned the entire thing out."

Calhoun nodded. "Ready when you are."

Defeated, Diana turned. Rather than feeling the sponge against her skin, she felt Calhoun's palm rub her skin.

"Cal... Calhoun?"

"Mm?"

"W... What are you doing?"

"Washing you." He replied. "Why? Don't you like it?"

Diana shivered and she wasn't certain if it was cold or something else.

"Are you cold darling?" Calhoun whispered. He leaned his head on her shoulder and then he kissed her neck.

"Calhoun, the baby-"

"He has had his fair share of fun, let us have ours," Calhoun whispered. He kissed her skin again and he began to suck on it.

"Calhoun, at least let's put him somewhere," Diana suggested. Calhoun moved back to stare at his mark on her skin.

"So beautiful -"

"Are you even listening to me?" Diana demanded.

"Shhh. Hold him carefully. Don't worry, I'll only wash you and I won't do anything you won't like." Calhoun promised.

Diana finally understood the promise. He was always true to his promise of not doing what she did not like. But then he always made it too impossible for her to resist him when he started.

"Cal-"

"Come on darling, don't deny me this pleasure. Allow me to bathe you properly, please."

Diana went silent. The way he begged made her not want to refuse him at all. She allowed him to do as he pleased. Calhoun did his best to not touch her carelessly, all he did was kiss her from her shoulder down to the part of her back that was exposed from the water.

Once he had carefully lathered the soap around her body and scrubbed her properly, leaving no spot unclean. After scrubbing, he rinsed her body by himself and then he stood to admire his work.

"You look so beautiful!" Calhoun praised.

"Is that because you washed me? Are you praising yourself or me?"

Calhoun shrugged. "Let's say I'm praising myself and complimenting you."

She shook her head, chuckling softly. She looked down at Coco and the boy was beginning to feel uncomfortable for being naked for so long.

"Are you hungry?" Diana asked softly. The boy reached out to touch her nose and he smiled at her. Calhoun came around and held them too. Diana could feel something poke her thighs. She stared up at him.

"Calhoun...?"

"Sorry about that, it's inevitable when I'm around you, looking so hot. Don't worry, you both can go, I'll take care of it."

Diana stared at him. Would she allow him to endure this alone? Well, he had also put her in a mood so why can't Thomas just spend more time with his grandson and she can spend more time with him?

Calhoun flicked her forehead. "Don't think too much, I'll be fine."
