My brain seemed to knot as I looked in their direction. Erato's friends were there, even him. My eyes were blurred but I could see the woman sitting next to him as well. They are not that close, but in one glance you'll know her purpose there.
She was the only woman there. Wearing a wine silk top, the fairness of her skin shines more. Her long curly hair touched her thigh. Now I realize that she's wearing a fitted skirt reaching her knees with a slit on the side. Her signature look.
It was as if the devil had slapped me with the super cold feeling. I couldn't even understand what Olivia was telling me, all I know if that my eyes were shaking as I looked at them.
My ego has never been trampled on by you so badly. Just like what I've said. Growing up, I saw him with every woman they can name. But never did I felt this stupid. Never did I felt this jealous. Never.
"Fvcking asshole. I told you, Jade. I fvcking told you." Olivia's curses rang in my head.
Yeah. Fvck me too.
Is it because I thought of everything the opposite? Seeing him with that woman just prove that he's really willing to marry than woman because his family told him so? Is that so? Or because I silently hoped that he liked me just like what I did to him. But I was wrong.
I saw how Erato roamed his eyes like he's looking for something. But that stopped when Savannah looked at him and seemed to whisper something. His expression is cold but composed. He seemed casual in dealing with it. The lump in my throat is getting hard to swallow. Fearing that Erato would see me I turned and faced the table.
I saw Aiden glaring at me and Trisha's curious eyes. They seem to know what’s up. The other companion was unaware.
"What are your plans now?" Olivia asked next to me.
I haven't been able to drink yet but my head is already hurting from Olivia's mouthfuls. I reached for the drink and jug it without pause.
"Stop drinking. Will you still show Erato how miserable you are? Yuck Jade."
I clenched my teeth. That shot didn't help at all. I reached for another and gulped again. I don't know how the hell they end up together at this party, but I don't fvcking want to know the reason anymore.
"Don't worry. I won't cause any scandal here." I rolled my eyes.
I really wouldn’t show him! The hell of him! I'll give this night to them. That woman did nothing to me. Only the to of us had something we talked about. But I'm a mess! What should it be? We're flings but he told me, that if he was he should just be? How about my conditions then? Is it okay that he has a fiance while we both have something? Or is there more? He just dropped me without a word, right?
I only made a few shots before I forced myself to calm down. I don't want to bawl out here. Never will I show my weakness to these people.
"Let's go?"
Olivia asked as she saw me take my pouch from the table.
"Restroom break. We'll go home once I'm back." I stood up.
She immediately stopped me. "You okay?" she asked, concerned.
I smiled at her sincerely. "No."
She sighed and let go of my wrist. I stood up quickly. I am weak and cannot process everything. My eyes are dimming with tears that I try to blink to disappear and it's good to be together.
"Jade," I felt a cold hand gripping my arm. I hope it was him but it's not. By just saying my name I knew immediately that it was not him.
"Aiden, why did you follow me? What will Trisha think again." I casually said. He's checking my face, I guess looking for any hint of weakness.
"That's his fiancé," he said.
"I know." I smiled lightly. His forehead furrowed.
"You knew? I thought there’s something between you two?" I chuckled.
"I thought so too." I laughed sadly, the ends were just coughing.
"I'll go to the restroom." I said goodbye and removed his hold on me. But he returned yours again.
"I thought you would really agree to marry that man."
I raised an brow. "Huh?"
"Didn't you say-"
"Jade,"
Aiden and I both looked in the direction the voice was coming from. My knees weakened when I saw his face in front of the two of us. "
Oh, what are you doing here?" Aiden asked him proudly.
Erato seemed to not mind him. He just glared at Aiden then he looked at me again. He took one step and tried to reach my hand but Aiden stepped in the middle, barely hiding me behind him. I saw how Erato's annoyed face became more annoyed when Aiden did that.
"Why are you going to Jade now? Aren't you with the woman you're going to marry?"
I watched his face intently, I waited to see if he would have a reaction but nothing. Only annoyance can be seen in him.
"Can you put that ugly face away?" he mocked Aiden.
Aiden hissed and was about to throw a punch. Erato is quick to intimidate him by just towering over him, and that's where I butt in.
"Aiden," I touched his arm. Erato's eyes went to it.
"Aiden, it's fine. Can you leave us alone?" My voice cracked. He stared at me with hesitant face, I just convinced him with my eyes. Erato and I took a warm look before we were finally left alone.
"What now?" I asked casually.
He didn't answer. He just looks at me with emotions I can't fathom.
"You should go. Your fiancé is alone." His brows raised.
He leaned and tried to touch my hand but I stepped back so he won't be able to reach it. He was shocked that I did that. I thought he would struggle but he was just too weak to stand in front of me.
