Leah moved closer to Amoux. Her lips landed on his lips which made Amoux stunned for a moment. He held his breath, for he was afraid that once he reacted, Leah would stop the kiss they both shared. He swallowed and felt embarrassed; it looked like he had taken a run in miles, and his heart was racing. He gasped after Leah finally broke the kiss. “You don't need to sacrifice your life for me, Amoux. I won't like that idea,” she whispered.
“But, you always do that for me. I remembered how you healed me even though you knew your life would be reduced.”
“Hey, I didn't even know I would die once I healed someone. Okay, let us sleep now.” Leah's face reddened; she held back and bit her lips. She felt that Amoux didn't like to kiss her.
“Seriously, Leah, you want to sleep now after you steal a kiss on me? Are you trying to play with me?” Amoux tone was full of doubt. His heart aches whenever he thinks that Leah is trying to play.
“No, I wasn't playing with you. I want to kiss you more, but I'm scared we might end up fucking each other.” Leah glanced away. She acted as she coughed. She was about to turn around when Amoux stopped her by holding her waist. She felt the intense sparks and felt heated.

Amoux sighed when he didn't get an answer from Leah, so he opened his eyes. He saw that Leah was still closing her eye; he even noticed that her mouth was slightly opened, and he heard a little snore. Amoux chuckled.
He couldn't believe that Leah slept so fast that he didn't even notice. He stared at her face, and he saw how gorgeous Leah was. She is still the same girl that he saw with her parents. Amoux appreciated everything, and when he saw her long eyelashes.
“I was talking to a sleeping person.” He murmured. He moved closer to her and caressed her lips. The softness of her lips made him want to claim it again.
Leah's lips were pinkish. Even though she wasn't using a lips stick, her lips were too flavorful. Amoux remembered how elegant Leah was when he met her in the Alpha meeting.

“I got the news that Amoux rushed to the hospital.” He whispered. Leah felt guilty even more when she saw how concerned Alpha Brandon was about her mate.
She gazed at Amoux before she went out to the room. She sighed.
“I thought you were mad at me,” She stated. Alpha Brandon laughed so hard.
“Leah, I understand your reason; he's your mate.” Leah nodded.
“Y-Yeah, Alpha Brandon, I'm sorry, and I don't want you to think that I used you–”
“Did you tell him that you're pregnant?” Alpha Brandon raised a question. Leah was surprised by his question. She coughed as she looked away at Alpha Brandon.
“I didn't tell him; I'm waiting for the right time to tell him. He's not OK.” Leah sadly sat on the chair and gazed at Alpha Brandon. But the truth was she was scared that maybe Amoux would not accept their child, or he would question her, especially since she had an intimate time with Alpha Brandon.
She's afraid to get rejected. She's anxious that Amoux wouldn't believe in her once she says that he's the father of the child.
“Leah, you should tell him. I know he would be happy, and he will accept it.” Alpha Brandon said. He cleared his throat. “I went here to talk about our plans in our pack. We're still business partners even though you broke my heart.” Alpha Brandon whispered that only Leah could hear it.
Leah wasn't aware that since she went out to the room, Amoux was awake. He was confused about where Leah went, so he quickly went to the door and immediately hid when he saw Alpha Brandon.
He was shocked when Alpha Brandon asked Leah if he knew that Leah was pregnant. Thinking that Leah had finally conceived another man's child made him cry. He wanted to grieve so severely. He couldn't believe that even though they had sex several times, he was not the father of her child.
“I will tell this to Amoux. I'm waiting for him to get healed. I'm scared that he might not—”
“He would be happy; I'm sure of that. I want to tell you that I found something,”

Amoux lowered his head as his heart was pumping too fast. Tears slowly formed in his eyes as he was hurt that Leah would reject him since Alpha Brandon wanted her to tell the truth to him.

“Y-Yeah, I'm hurt, and you're why I'm hurting right now.” Leah was stunned. She didn't know what shes going to say or what she was going to do to comfort him.
“Wait, why? Okay, I want to tell you, and I know you will be happy.”
“Leah, did you think that once you rejected me that I would be happy because of it? Leah, you're my mate!”
“No, what are you talking about? I didn't even tell you I was going to reject you!” Leah was confused. She was puzzled about how Amoux acted after he woke up.
“I don't want to hear whatever you want to say. I don't want to.” Amoux cried, and he turned his back on Leah. He secretly wished that Leah would give him a chance to correct everything.
